Watching as his opponent walked up on the stage across from him, Minos got in a fighting position, waiting for the outer disciple to make the call.
Ombrum raised his fists, his body slightly shaking as he peered around at the massive crowd below the stage.
"Begin!"
With the signal, Minos wasted no time. With five steps, he closed in the distance between the two before flinging out a punch.
"Green Bull Through Dirt"
Ombrum was still nervous at this point, failing to react to the blow. Minos's fist landed squarely on his chest, sending him flying off the stage.
"Minos wins!"
The crowd cheered as Minos walked off the stage. A few disciples quickly picked up Ombrum before taking him away to heal his injuries.
Quite honestly, that fight was no challenge at all to Minos, and failed to really feed his desire for combat. He hoped the next fighter was more competent.
He picked up his robe he had thrown, carrying it over his shoulder. He rejoined the crowd and kept watching the fights.
"Eflar vs Rivene"
Minos didn't even need to watch this fight to know the results. Eflar as a Third Life Lock layer cultivator could easily crush Rivene, who like Minos, had only broken One Life Lock.
It took a single nonchalant punch to send Rivene flying off the stage. Watching as Rivene's body flew through the air as he coughed up blood let Minos further understand the true strength of the Third Life Lock layer.
Eflar hadn't even used the Green Bull Tendon Fist. One should know that at small mastery, the user's strength could be enhanced by around 10%, 30% for great mastery and a whopping 50% at the perfection realm.
Eflar as a veteran of the Green Barrel sect likely had at least small mastery, and even great mastery was highly possible, hence he could have theoretically exploded an extra 300 pounds of strength, assuming his original strength was about 900 pounds.
Naturally that would have been over kill given the circumstances, but it still showcased that he had plenty of strength left to spare.
The fights continued, and Minos also had a chance to watch Pinela strike, but much like Eflar, she crushed her opponent with no difficulty.
In fact, the handyman disciple tournament is quite boring compared to the outer disciple tournament. The same technique is pretty much used by everyone, so it just comes to whoever is stronger.
Meanwhile, like Minos had learnt a long time ago, outer disciples could go to the outer library, which has a bunch of different techniques, with far more variety.
Hence the fights between outer disciples isn't always about strength, but oftentimes also strategy. If the technique you're using is countered by another, then you may very well lose the fight despite being stronger.
"Minos vs Trifen!"
Minos headed up once more. He took in a deep breath before looking out at his opponent, a tall tanned man who was clearly a couple years older than Minos.
The contrast between the man's large body and tanned skin and Minos's shorter stature and pale skin that matched his white hair gave the crowd a strange feeling. Like an adult was about to bully a sick child.
"Minos is in trouble. Trifen is already on the Second Life Lock, so it shouldn't be a problem for him to win this fight." Shouted a person in the crowd.
"Not to mention that Minos person looks sick. Look at that skin? Are you sure he's in the right state for a battle" spoke a young girl, who seemed a little worried.
"Girl, you must be new to the handyman area. That kid Minos looks strange, but he has plenty of strength. Not to mention he easily crushed his opponent in his first fight."
"That's true!" Replied the young girl.
