As soon as the wolf died it dropped 3 items all of which were materials for life skills.
[Received baby grey wolf fur]
[Received baby wolf fangs X 2]
[Received baby wolf liver]
Liam didn't check the details the items, he just put them in his inventory and went back to the Five Star herb he was picking earlier.
After getting his prize Liam continues trekking through the forest however he made sure to be even more careful as he has no way to replenish his hit points at the moment.
'Perhaps I should go back to the village and heal up. It's gonna be tough in here without healing items' With that thought in mind Liam double backed on himself to leave the forest. However it seems as much as a piece of equipment increases his characters luck it doesn't stop him from getting jumped by another baby wolf.
The sight of the monster put Liam on the back foot, but thanks to his experience with the last wolf he used the same tactics to battle it. He unfortunately still took a hit while getting into position dropping his health below the halfway point.
After dealing with the wolf Liam was halfway to his next level but tried avoiding any fights after the wolf. He skirted around any that came across his path as he made his way out the forest.
As soon as he was out he breathed a sigh of relief knowing he won't be attacked by monsters.
"Fuck, that was tough"
Liam made his way back to the village and decided he might as well hand in the rabbit quest while he was here.
"Hi Chief Ronald, I managed to sort your farmland problem out"
"Thank you young otherworlder. Maybe now our farmers can do their job without being harassed"
[Quest complete - Drive off the crop destroyers. EXP: 75, Received 2 basic health potions]
"Excellent a couple of potions. Thank you chief Ronald."
"No, thank you. If you have time could you do another favour for me?"
"No problem. What do you need?" Liam agreed immediately. Why wouldn't he? Considering that he can get more Exp it would also give useful items, at least in most cases.
"I would like you to bring me some wolf fangs and furs"
[Quest received - Wolf Hunting 1
Chief Ronald would like you to collect the furs and fangs of the Grey Wolves.
Furs: 0/15 Fangs: 0/15]
'A chain quest?' Liam was surprised by the number at the end of the quest name. A chain quest is a group of quest that usually lead to a big payoff at the end, there is sometimes even a boss within the quest line. The only thing is, that a chain quest is not unique so anyone can get them. That's not to say there won't be unique ones but most players won't find out ad whoever gets them will keep it close to their chest.
"Okay Chief I'll get on that as soon as possible."
"I would be careful, as the lowest level of the wolves is 5 so you may want to gain a couple of levels yourself first." Chief Ronald warned Liam. Liam was well aware of this after his run ins with the 2 baby wolves from before.
After finishing up with the village chief, Liam made his way to the item shop.
He walked through the door and made his way over to the old lady behind the counter.
"Welcome back young man. Have you finished my task already?"
"I'm afraid not. I'm having trouble with keeping my life in the forest where the herbs are. Is there a way to heal HP that isn't health potions." Liam was asking because health potions were too expensive and he was rather poor at the moment.
"Of course there is. You can use bread to heal outside of combat. They don't heal too much but they will keep you alive between fights. They are 2 bronze a loaf."
"Excellent I'll take 5 of them please" Liam spent all the money he had and then checked the details of bread.
[Loaf of bread - Food item
Standard bread loaf that heals HP outside of battle. Heals 50 health points over 10 seconds. Can only be used when not in combat]
"These will have to do for now. Hopefully I can get some more gear somewhere" Liam muttered to himself as he thought of his next step.
"Is there anything else I can help you with?"
"No that's all for now. Thanks." After saying goodbye and leaving the store, Liam stay in the village and waited for his life to heal up. Once a player is back in town their health will automatically heal over time at a rate of 1% every 60 seconds. This mean a player needs to wait in a safe zone like a village for about an hour if the were on the brink of death.
Liam waited around for over half an hour before he finally maxed out his health and then made his way back to the forest.
The forage skill was in immediate use as soon as Liam got there. He managed to find 5 more of the herbs as he made his way through the forest. It was then that he came upon a small clearing with a cliff on one side, there was a large entrance and the wall of the cliff indicating a cave.
At this time Liam could hear the wind breaking slightly and before he knew it an arrow was lodged in his shoulder.
