Chapter 4 - Chapter 03: My First Day (Part 2)

I looked at my phone and sighed. That bitch keep send me a text. "Julia? What are you doing here?" I picked my bag and looked at her.

"Nothing," I said as I looked at my phone.

"Are you sure?"

I stand up, then help her to standing. "Are you sure you want to become my assistant? I should be ask Ms. Sherlyn a permission." She nodding her head. "Eve," she lifted her head and looked at me.

"D-do you need anything?" She's cute. I wish I have a girlfriend like her, but what I get is more than just a cute girl on the planet.

"Go home. Your parents must be searching for you."

Evie hugged her knees and sit still next to me. "What if I refused?" She… I took a deep breath and exhale slowly through my mouth. I'm understand she doesn't want to go home. What about her parents? They must be worried. "Whenever I come back home. I don't feel like I don't have parents anymore."

I looked at her. Oh, broken home. "At least you let them know your whereabouts."

She chuckled and shook her head. "Julia," she straightened her body and watched people passing by. "When and why are you writing a book?" She keeps hugging her knee and rocking her body forth and back.

I put my glass back and stared. When someone talk about it, I don't want them to know. "Can you go…"

"Can you help me?" She looks me in the eye. I took a deep breath and let go of her hand. I picked my jacket and helmet, then walked outside from my room. "Why you're not answering me?!"

I shook my head and petting her head. She's cute, innocent, and unpredictable. I hope someday you will find someone. She seems nice. I don't want to hurt her feeling.

Eve jolted when she saw Jason walking towards us and rushed to the bus stop across this street. "Evie!" He keeps calling her, but she wasn't want to respond. Does he like her? "What the fuck you said to her?" He pulled my shirt collar. "Answer me, bitch! Whenever I saw you with her, she…"

I pulled Jason as hard as I could and glared at him. "Do you like her, asshole?!" Jason took a deep breath and stared. You have steel of balls, Jason. You should fix your attitude towards a stranger you just met yesterday. No wonder Sherriff warned about you earlier.

Jason gets up and cleaned his pants. "My sister sends me to pick you up." Right, the dinner.

"Told her to cancel." He furrowed his brow. "I have something I should do first." I walked to where I parked my motorcycle earlier.

I parked my motorcycle, then turned off the engine. "Ms. Hartanto." I shake his hand. "Welcome to my restaurant." He said.

I'm nodding my head and followed him to get inside. I rented this place because I need to speak with my lawyer. "Julia," he stands up and shakes my hand. "Please have a seat. I told the waiter to open the wine first to let them breath." The waiter pours me a glass of wine.

"How are you doing, Kim? You lose your weight?" He chuckles after he sips a wine. He gave me 3 wide chocolate envelopes.

"8 pounds." He took a deep breath and stared at me. "Listen, you mess up, Julia. Greding Publisher, try to put a lawsuit on you. Now, your career is at stake."

"Are you sure about that?"

He nodding his head, and he gave me a newspaper. "Open on entertainment section. They put your leave in the headlines."

Huh, why I should stop writing if I am still alive? I'm not young anymore, but I can run for 5 blocks. I sighed and looked at him.

"I'm not quit, Yoon Jun!" I burned the newspaper and put it on ashtray.

"It's better you explain to me, Julia. I already promise to my son this weekend."

I faced palmed and sighed. That's number one reason I don't want to have a kid. They are cute, but more cuteness will bring you to your prison. "I just want to take a rest, Yoon Jun. All these spotlight was just too much for me. It's because of that greed son of a bitch. He keeps lying to me."

He nodding his head and massage his temple. "What happened next?"

I furrowed my brow and looked at him. "What happened next?!" I'm pointing at my cheek. "That asshole punched me in the face! He came to my motel last night with my ex."

He choked. "Wh-what?! You broke up with Irene?!" I wondered why want to go back to old school style, or they just can't read a goddamn article online. "You have a witness?" He asked.

"Yes. The owner of the motel."

"Your ex. You said she was there." I picked my recorder device and gave it to him.

"She blackmailed me, Kim. will she get into prison?"

He shook his head. "What she asked? Money, or she threating you with violence?" He crossed his leg and looked at me.

"She will expose my location." I said.

Kim sighed. I keep staring at him, waiting for answers. He literally makes me want to kill them. "You can't put her in the prison, but the good news is. You can use it against the person who punched you in the cheek." He straightened his body. "Does your witness watched you getting punched?"

"He… did not see him punched me, but Irene was there. I bet she doesn't want to tell the truth."

He wiped his mouth with a napkin and cleared his throat. "Well, I can't sue her, but your manager." His phone was ringing, and he puts back. "Sorry, it's just… my wife." I raised my eyebrow. Why he doesn't pick the phone?

"Are you sure it's alright?" He took a deep breath and stand up.

"I already bring what you asked for, and… we will meet on Monday discussing your manager punched you and your news." He changing the topic. It's weird. No, don't overthink about it.

I stand up and shake his hand. Gladly, my cousin owns this restaurant. Maybe I asked her for my money back. I took a deep breath and drink this wine until the last drop. I wiped my face roughly and sighed.
