Chapter 16 - Ch - 16 : Who could it be behind the Murders?

Han Byul's POV

I was just waiting for the bacon and eggs to finish cooking so that I could serve my sister her breakfast. Her friend Daehyun already got out a while ago, saying that something important came up and that he couldn't eat with us anymore.

"Hannie?" I looked over my shoulder and saw my mom in her office attire. She looked tired with her very noticeable eye bags below her beautiful brown eyes. I could say that my sister got her eyes and lips from her, while I got her nature and behaviour from her, according to what dad says, which makes all of us look both ethereal and undeniably beautiful, in addition to our flawless porcelain-like skin, which we both got from our grandmother. But I'm still more beautiful!

I happily greeted her back and hugged her.

"You have to rest, mom, and don't overwork yourself. Dad wouldn't like that. You know, I can see your dark circles, which definitely look ugly on your beautiful face." And like always, she ignores my rants and just pouts and ruffles my hair like I always do to Min Young.

"Yah, don't worry about me, okay? I'm still pretty no matter how tired I look, don't you agree?" She flipped her hair back, and we both giggled. I got my energetic side from her too. I made her coffee, and she gladly accepted it.

Lately, she's been busy with her business. Even though dad tells her to just rest like a queen, she won't allow it and says that she will work and continue her passion, which is to cook. She has her own restaurant. I remember her teaching me all of what she learned when I was young, and it always made me happy. That was our source of bonding with each other after I came back home from my adoptive parents, or should I say kidnappers? She loves us both too much.

But I always feel bad because she doesn't know that we kill people. Dad is a great secret keeper because he managed to keep all of his secrets to himself. Never once got caught. Well, maybe just once, when Min overheard us talking.

All our mother knew up until this day was that her husband was a famous businessman who sold firearms all over the world. She is just like Min Young before—too naive about the world. They both don't deserve cruelty.

I heard my phone ring, so I took it from my pocket. I looked at the screen and saw that it was a call from my dad. I picked up the call, and even before I could say anything, he said...

"If you are with someone, go out and make sure that no one can hear you."

I looked at mom, who took over cooking our breakfast, so I just excused myself for a minute and walked towards my room, making sure to lock it behind me.

"I'm now alone, dad. Tell me what you want to say."

"Good. Now I need you to find Hiroshima Takasu and three other people. You have to do it fast, before anyone else does. You surely know what I mean. We can't risk losing them."

"I got it, dad."

'' And by the way, Min Seojun... that's the name of the guy our Minyoung likes.'

For a few seconds, he did not answer with words, but after that, I heard him slightly chuckle.

"I already knew that."

"Wait, what? But I haven't told you about that yet.'

"I have my ways. How many times do I have to tell you, "I am Park Hikaru?" You know your dad is not just any normal person, Hannie ''.

Dad ended the call, leaving me clueless. Then I chuckled slightly. Why am I even surprised? He is always one step ahead of everyone. And that's too scary sometimes, even for me, even though I am his flesh and blood.

Setting that aside, I almost forgot that I still needed to find those guys. I remember my dad mentioning something odd about the people we've been looking for these days. When we happen to find some bad people associated with their bad doings, if we knew that they deserved a little chance to live, then we wouldn't kill them. We just need them to keep their mouths shut anyway. Because sometimes killing is heavy work too.

But the odd part was that we did kill some of them, but half of them were killed by somebody else.

They would either be found dead on the roadside or in some river with their dead bodies floating, like those killings were meant for everybody to know. Someone else is doing the killings irresponsibly, and if this continues, we could be traced and our clan would be in major danger. I know that my dad is very capable of handling this kind of situation, but I'm still doubtful. Now, all we could do was move fast and kill ourselves before the person who was killing our prey did.

Although, in honesty, only one person's name came to mind who could do that, and I know dad knows it too.

It could be that Mr. Jeon Do-yun
