Meanwhile on the other side of the city, Wen JunXi dubbed his cigarette on a balcony rail seal after Jiang Xin Yan cut the call. He had smile on his face as he walked back into his home office.
He had been pleased to find out that she had the same reaction when teased. His pleased smile however had eradicated as soon as he sat down and saw the scattered files from the report Lu Zhi'An had sent him.
The files contained the medical report and all accounts on how Yan Yan became Jiang XinYan. It was seeing the truth laid in front of him that it had truly hit him.
In anger, Wen JunXi had slammed and threw away all the contents in his table including his laptop which was now broken on the floor.
To calm himself down he had called her. Hearing her warm voice truly watered down his anger. Although he'd been teasing her, all he conveyed was the truth of how he felt.
He truly wanted her. However now he understood he had a hurdle to overcome in order to obtain her again.
Wen JunXi was now afraid of her memories returning. To remember that traumatic event would mean the possibility of her wanting to forever sever ties with him.
Although he knew there was a chance to start their relationship all over again. He was conflicted whether to let her know the truth or keep her in the dark like how her grandfather had done so in the past four years.
Seeing the report on how she almost died and went into coma for six months, Wen JunXi clenched his fist, feeling his anger returning.
He then made a call to Lu Zhi'An once more.
"What now?" Lu Zhi'An asked as soon as he received the call. He had just woken up from his slumber by the annoying ringing tone he specifically made for when Wen JunXi called him.
"I have two things."
"My intuition is telling me that something is fishy about what happened to Jiang XinYan. Something that we are missing..." He spoke.
"...Bai Jiu is just a spoilt and sheltered daughter of the Bai Family. How did she manage get such capable people to kidnap Jiang XinYan from my own property without being caught? It seems implausible."
"So, you want to do a further investigation? We've covered all ends...the men that were involved killed themselves." Lu Zhi'An replied.
"That was can be so ...but you and I know the art of covering loose ends in the form of suicide... my intuition is telling me there's someone else involved, someone hidden and used those people 'suicides' to cover their trails." Wen JunXi frowned deeply.
"I'll get ChuAn and XingRen to look more into it." Lu Zhi'An accented.
"Yes, they're perfect but tell them to be discreet, we don't want to stomp too much on the grass to scare the snake, if there is one."
Lu Zhi'An hummed an agreement. He knew that Wen JunXi's intuition was not to be trifled with. It was that intuition that had kept him alive to this day.
"Thanks, Zhi'An... as to my other request, you won't like this, but I have a five-month project for you?" Wen JunXi spoke on the other end.
"Project?" Lu Zhi'An scoffed, knowing fully well that Wen JunXi was about to ask him something overboard.
"I want you get some men to kidnap Bai Ju from the institution. Allow them to do whatever they want with her. They don't have to use protection. Only until something is growing inside her will they stop. Allow them to let her escape, but still monitor her movements. Prevent her from contacting her family but let her think she's gained freedom. After a few more months, get someone to kidnap her again and rip it away from stomach."
"Maybe her release will also lead us to the person behind her actions back then." Wen JunXi concluded.
Wen JunXi's voice was calm as he gave Lu Zhi'An these instructions. However, it was the calmness that made Lu Zhi'An shudder.
Although his voice had been devoid of anger or bitterness, the ruthlessness of the plan was what gave it a layer of viscousness.
In his line of work Lu Zhi'An was never frightened of anything or anyone apart from Wen JunXi.
Unlike Wen JunXi, Lu Zhi'An did not come from an affluential background. His whole world has always been bleak from the start and as soon as he was teenager, he had already entered the underworld.
For years he built himself up and ruthlessly took over many people's lines of business. However, he'd also made many enemies over time and had always been the top of the list of most wanted.
One day he found himself at wits end, he would have died that day had it not been for Wen JunXi being at the right place at the right time to save him.
After that his loyalty to Wen JunXi became fleshed out. It became clear overtime, however, that the day they met was not by chance. It was very intentional on Wen JunXi's side.
After saving him, Wen JunXi then began to secretly aid him; giving him advice as well as donating some money into his businesses. It became to a point that Lu Zhi'An found himself attributing all of his newfound wealth to Wen JunXi.
