Chapter 25 - CHAPTER 25 - Jiang Group Corporation’s new CEO - Part 1

Ever since Wen JunXi called her that night, Jiang XinYan has been having dreams about him every night for the past two weeks.

These dreams were so vivid and felt so real, she would wake up in sweats and cursing Wen JunXi for badgering into her life and hinting a temptation that was impossible to fulfil.

It was a Tuesday morning and once again Jiang XinYan had awoken from a passionate dream about him.

Such a ridiculous dream had felt so real and raw. It was as if she could even feel him at that moment, breathing next to her, touching her, being inside her.

It had all felt so real, that she who believed had never been touched by a man wondered how her imagination could conjure up such vivid images.

She quickly went to her bathroom to clean up. She was rigorous with her skin care routine. Every day she woke very early despite having slept so little and dedicated a whole hour on her skincare routine.

Afterwards she applied light make up. Because of her skin care, she looked even younger than she was. That was why she would put light make-up to give herself a mature air.

Although she was already so accomplished at twenty-four years old. Because she worked from early hours to all the way to late evening, if she did not take care of her body and skin, it would start showing.

After dressing in a light beige work suit, she grabbed her bag and went downstairs to eat.

It has been a month since moving back to Z city from abroad. The housekeepers were now aware of her schedule and so they had her breakfast ready by 6:30am.

Her grandfather would not be awake at this time and so she became accustomed to eating breakfast alone.

After she finished eating, she went downstairs where her allocated chauffeur had the car ready for her.

"Good morning, Chauffeur Lu. Today we won't be stopping by a café, just straight to work please."

"Yes Miss." Chauffeur Lu replied.

It was really an inconvenience for Chairman Jiang to live so far away from the city and the Corporation. He's been holding the chairman position more than thirty years.

The Jiang Group Corporation was a 40-minute drive from the Jiang Residence. Therefore, it took some time for Chauffeur Lu to reach the building. Although, her commute was always very smooth as she beat traffic almost every day. Jiang XinYan still found it exhausting to leave so early and come home so late.

If it was not because she wanted to stay with her grandfather and monitor his health, she would have longed moved to the condominium she had purchased that was near the company.

Jiang XinYan started work at 7:30am and finished by 8:30pm every weekday. Therefore, she did not come home until after 9pm. It was rare for her to eat with her grandfather since she started working. But Jiang XinYan still made sure the housekeeper and the chefs were feeding him nutritional food.

Assistant Xiao Fei was waiting for her at the entrance of building. Jiang XinYan immediately handed her phones and gave instructions.

"Xiao Fei, inform the whole staff that I'll be making an announcement. Afterwards prepare a meeting with those people from the finance team and marketing team right after. After lunch, make my schedule free between 1pm -4pm in case the board members decide to draw a last-minute meeting."

Assistant Xiao Fei instantly began to note down the instructions.

It's been a month since Jiang XinYan transferred office to CEO of Jiang Group Corporation. Xiao Fei was a hard worker, she had been singularly handpicked by executive assistant Wang.

In the beginning Xiao Fei did not have hope over Jiang XinYan, she just thought Jiang XinYan was just another second-generation wealthy heir who got the position easy.

Little did she know that all she needed to do was research. It was a misjudgement on Xiao Fei's part. During this whole month, Jiang XinYan has been dealing with the board members and meetings with potential investors. She's been overseeing the whole company.

The first week after starting she gave each department a day to present the work, they've been doing the past year. Then she used one day to go from one department to another to personally oversee these presentations.

It was in those meetings as each department summarised their reports that Xiao Fei saw Jiang XinYan's true colours. Jiang XinYan did not see her role as child's play, like how a second generation spoilt rich heir would.

Listening to her stern voice as she scolded those who could not answer her questions after their presentational reports. Xiao Fei's whole body became tense and firmer with determination.

It was there that Xiao Fei began to admire Jiang Xin Yan. She felt that she would prosper if she stayed by her side.

..

For two whole hours, Jiang Xin Yan was in her office still finishing up her proposal for a company take over.

Her plan was already way ahead in the future. She knew she should slow down but she was preparing for every possible set back she would encounter.

She was concentrating fully on this when she heard a knock from Xiao Fei at around 9:20.

"CEO Jiang, the theatre room is ready for your announcement.

"Mm. Thank you Xiao Fei."

She saved her documents, removed the USB and logged off. Although her office was the safest, there were still spies within the company that could not be trusted.

Xiao Fei led the way to the theatre room where everyone within the building had already been seated. Jiang XinYan knew the announcement she was going to make could have been made privately or via email.

However, she wanted to be as authentic and straightforward with her employees as possible.

Therefore, when she walked on that stage, she exuded a confident aura that seemed out of reach.

With exception of the managers and a few employees who had been scolded by her during the yearly report presentation a month ago, the rest of the employees in the building were still sceptical about the new young Jiang Group Corporation's CEO.

They all thought she didn't work hard and had her position handed to her on a silver platter because of nepotism.

The higher ups were mostly anxious about her abilities and were afraid she would bring down Jiang Group Corporation.

Although the rest of the employees were envious about the fact that she was the heir to Jiang Group Corporation, they mostly looked down on her. They all thought she was just a young rich spoilt brat who did not know what she was doing.

Therefore, when Jiang XinYan made an announcement that she was planning on making managerial changes within the finance and marketing department. Everyone thought she will be firing people out of a whim, without rhyme or reason.

"I understand this is unforeseeable event in Jiang Group and will make a lot of people anxious. However, I can assure you that this change will have minimal impact toward the company. There will be compensation to those whose tasks and goals have changed."

"After two months, things will be back on track on those department and I expect the teams will be even better than before."

"Jiang Group aims to remain authentic with its employees. We do not lie or hide. As a CEO, I want to thank everyone who had made the corporation thrive especially with this year's increase in the market. As your CEO my goal is continue progressing and bettering the corporation."

"As a reminder of our aims; we strive to better our products and to ensure consumer satisfaction. So, let's all aim for a better future." She finished her speech.

..

At 10:15 after the announcement, Jiang XinYan made her way to the meeting room with those people she was going to remove. As soon as she entered, she felt stares of resentment fired at her.

Before she sat down, the head of finance was already speaking,

"With all due respect CEO Jiang, I don't understand why you've put all of us in this meeting. We have worked the hardest in this company, I can vouch for everyone here that they've put their blood sweat and tears into Jiang Group." Senior director of finance Ming finished speaking.

He did not expect her to counteract and was smirking condescendingly.

"Senior Director Ming, I've only gathered you all in this meeting because I had a conundrum. As I was going through the financial reports this last year, I stumbled upon an oddity." She then distributed the reports in front of those ten people.

"There's missing total of $20 million dollars that have been transferred to these supermarket projects. I've made my own research and these 10 new supermarkets did not need an extra $2 million dollars each for development. I was wondering where has the money gone to? Senior director Ming's signature of approval is on all these reports." Jiang XinYan spoke with a tone so cold; the whole room became silent.

She gave them no room for excuses and the scowl she fired at them made Senior Director Ming stare nervously around his colleagues.

Everyone in that room were mostly senior that have worked in that company more than ten years. They thought they'll be no way of ever getting caught in their schemes. Especially since the money they laundered each year was so minuscule in comparison to the billions that was Jiang Group Corporation revenue.

To be caught like this by a young woman not even a month in office was humiliating. It was to slap their faces.

Senior Director Xin of the marketing team could not take it lying down.

Who did Jiang XinYan think she was?

"Jiang XinYan!" He directly called her by her given name. He did not even respect her enough to call her CEO. He felt she didn't deserve it.

"This is slander. Are you implying that we've all colluded into stealing $20 million dollars from the company?

"Senior Director Xin, did I say such words? Mentioning it like this, however, makes me conclude that in fact such a thing did happen."

"Where's the proof! I've have right to call my lawyer to sue you for slandering my name!"

"By all means please do. I initially arranged this meeting with the thought that we can all amicably come into an agreement for an investigation. However, since I now suspect theft is actually involved. I have no choice but to involve the police."

Murmurs of protest resounded once more. They scowled at her, however upon looking at the files she had provided, none of them had any evidence tracing to them. Just that some funds had been allocated to these projects. So, they all still remained calm inside.

Without proof Jiang XinYan had no grounds for firing them.
