Meanwhile, Zhao LiYi waited for five minutes after her father left to emerge from her hiding place and greet her grandmother.
"Little girl, it's you? Did you sleep okay?" Jiang MoRan tried to hide her sinister look that had been in her eyes for a while and replaced it with a warm innocent smile.
Zhao LiYi laughed and adopted a clueless look, "Grandmother, was that father earlier? Why was he angry?"
"Ah nothing much, just some ant trying to eat his food." She replied cryptically.
"Enough about him. Tell me about you, why did you come home all of the sudden. It's been two days, why are aren't you working?" she asked.
"That person stole my resources again, so I came here to vent." Zhao LiYi shrugged.
"It's this about Chu YingZi again?" Her grandmother asked.
A vicious look scoured Zhao LiYi's face upon hearing that name. "It didn't work last time. Even though, I personally saw her leaving with a man after giving her a dose of that drug, when I went to retrieve the footage and evidence, there was nothing there! It was erased." She complained.
"That's because you underestimated her. What did I tell you before? You must observe your enemies first, know all their weakness and strength before striking." Jiang MoRan reminded her.
Zhao LiYi sneered. "Chu YingZi is hateful. I hate her face and I hate her character. She is a rude person who doesn't even say any nice things to her fans. Yet they all still treat her like a queen. What right does that kind of person have to steal all of my resources. Grandmother, I can't wait before striking. To that person, I don't have the patience."
Zhao LiYi knew all about her grandmother's scheming mind and yet she disagreed with her methods. Her grandmother could wait years upon years to see her scheme come into fruition. She could scheme but she still stubbornly held on to her morals. Zhao Liyi found that to be tedious and long, she would rather see her enemies fall instantly.
Jiang MoRan sighed and disapproved. "You are in the entertainment industry and yet you still cannot control your temper... if she has stolen your resources, why haven't you used your brains and body to counteract?"
"Grandmother, I told you, I'm pure. Although I work in this field, I'm as pure as snow. My body and heart can only belong to Wen JunXi." Zhao LiYi blurted panickily as if she's been seen right through.
Her family should never know just how tainted she truly was. Her relationship with that man should never be revealed. Toward everyone she would remain a pure beloved daughter of the Zhao family.
"Wen JunXi?" Jiang MoRan asked in shock.
At that time when young and naïve Zhao LiYi met Wen JunXi at a social function, she proclaimed to her family that he was the person she wanted to marry.
They all discouraged her against the idea. At that time, it had been rumoured that he was promised to the Bai Family's Bai Jiu. Zhao LiYi did not heed any of their warnings and instead delved deeply into this unrequited love for him.
Using her grandmother's teachings to keep friends close and enemies closer, Zhao LiYi then befriended Bai Jiu. She planned to use her friendship with Bai Jiu as a steppingstone to get close to Wen JunXi.
At one point, in the elite circle of Z city, everyone knew Bai Jiu had a best friend named Zhao LiYi. Although her family wasn't that well known, being relatives with Chairman Jiang made those group of young and rich accept her into their circle.
Zhao LiYi's soon came to realise that most of Bai Jiu's so-called friends harboured the same intentions toward Wen JunXi. He was everyone's dream man. Zhao LiYi wanted to stand out from them, and so, she fawned over Bai Jiu. She fed her with positive affirmation of Wen JunXi's love for her. How they were a match made in heaven...etcetera. This move made Bai Jiu favour her more.
And yet, what Zhao LiYi had not realised was that Wen JunXi was an untouchable force that even Bai Jiu could not truly grasp. Although it was never made public, it became known among the elite circle of Z city that Wen JunXi took a wife and brought her to live at Wen Residence.
Everyone thought this new wife was Bai Jiu, however, although she never denied the claims, Bai Jiu 's constant displeasure and the heartbroken look she wore on her face, pertained that it was not the case. Beside if he had married her, Bai Jiu would have been flaunting it for the whole world to know, instead of being lowkey.
Because Wen JunXi's wife was deeply hidden, no one ever knew who she was. The Wen residence security was so tight, even the workers left no crumbs of evidence. Everyone thought the Wen Family truly protected Wen JunXi's new wife.
Zhao LiYi, at that time had been 'best friends' with Bai Jiu and so knew the ins and out of Wen Residence. Although at first, she became heartbroken to find out that Wen JunXi married someone. As Bai Jiu complained to her, she realised that the new wife that Wen JunXi married was not at all favoured by Wen Family as everyone speculated.
With an agenda to break that marriage, Zhao LiYi changed her plans and used Bai Jiu as that means to do so. She had 'consoled' while fanning the flames to make sure that Bai Jiu did not give up on Wen JunXi.
Even when that wife became pregnant with Wen JunXi's child, Zhao LiYi did not give up her plans. When she successfully brainwashed Bai Jiu to finally get rid of her, Zhao LiYi had rejoiced in her schemes.
However, at the last moment, Bai Jiu had panicked and did not want to continue such treacherous act. Zhao LiYi had foreseen that Bai Jiu would be weak and so she had made that man sent his lackeys to complete the action.
That day those same men had also kidnapped Bai Jiu and tortured her mentally, finally make her lose her sanity.
Zhao LiYi was very vicious and manipulative, even her family did not know how deeply sinister her heart was. She prided herself on successfully getting rid of Wen JunXi's wife, a woman whom she had never truly met.
It was her own means and scheme that had killed two birds with one stone. Ending the so-called marriage of Wen JunXi and also getting rid of Bai Jiu.
Deep in her heart and mind, she will become Wen JunXi wife. No one else. She had been biding her time well, becoming successful and known so that she could proudly stand by his side.
"You still have your heart set on him? Give it up right now. That person already has a favoured son." Jiang MoRan discouraged.
Zhao LiYi sneered in her heart, however, outside she gave her grandmother a pained look.
"Grandmother you still won't support me?"
"Silly child. I can already see that the road is filled with bumps and potholes. It's truly impossible. Why are you always so blindsided?" She disapproved.
"Grandmother if you cannot support me with this, then...then I won't come visit anymore." Zhao LiYi acted spoilt and hurt.
She then ran out of the living area to her bedroom in an act of defiance.
"Aiyo...this silly child, what am I going to do with her." Jiang MoRan tsked.
