I pulled out my grimoire and flipped through the pages until I found the one I was looking for. The spell was called Aspirath and it would drain the life force of the cat, hopefully fixing my own body. It was a risky move, but I had no other choice.
In order to use this spell, I must first find a living being with a significant amount of life force, which I have already accomplished. The next step is to draw a symbol on my body, as shown in the grimoire, which will serve as a pathway for the life force to flow into me.
It is crucial that the symbol touches the target directly, or the spell will not work. Finally, I must chant the incantation to invoke the spell. It all seemed fairly straightforward. Now, onto drawing the symbol. It resembled a star with a circle in the center, and it is much easier to draw than the magic circle required for the undead summoning spell.
I carefully drew the symbol on the palm of my hand with a pen, making sure every line was precise. I then placed my hand on the cat and focused, before quietly chanting the incantation under my breath.
"Am I healing already? I observed the slight difference on my body, where signs of regrowth appeared. My skin, once covered in rotting flesh, was slowly returning to its former condition. It was healing magically, steadily, and slowly. But then, I reminded myself to stop.
"Oh, I should stop now," I whispered to myself, as I removed my hand from the cat, ending the spell.
I knew that my goal was only to absorb a portion of life force from the cat. It was wise for me to stop here. If I continued the spell, the cat would end up becoming like me, and that was something I was trying to avoid. Furthermore, my body had already healed enough for now.
As I rose to my feet, I noticed that my body had already begun to heal. The tingling sensation that had plagued me moments ago had ceased, and my pain and exhaustion had vanished. I breathed a sigh of relief, amazed at how quickly the spell had worked.
"Wow" I exclaimed, feeling a surge of energy coursing through my veins. Everything suddenly felt lighter, and I couldn't help but smile.
"Haaahh..." Taking a deep breath, I savored the feeling of being alive. Even though my skin was still pale, it no longer bothered me. I knew that if I continued to cast the spell and absorb more life force, I would soon be completely healed.
I was so excited that I accidentally knocked down the cat and it fell on the ground, mewling. I knelt down quickly and picked it up, stroking it's fur.
"Hehe... I'm sorry" I apologized as the cat meowed quietly. It calmed down and leaned against me, purring happily. What a cutie...
As I petted the cat, I noticed Rhea staring at it intently with a tinge of displeasure in her eyes. A thought crossed my mind - could she be jealous? No, that was absurd.
Ignoring the thought, I continued to pet the cat, enjoying the soft sound of it's purrs. However, Rhea's voice brought me back to reality.
"Master, it seems like you've grown quite fond of that cat" She pointed out, her tone laced with jealousy.
"You can't blame me for being friendly to such an adorable cat like this" I said teasingly.
"M-Master...!" She protested cutely.
I grinned mischievously at her reaction. She's cute when she does that.
"It's fine, don't worry about it" I reassured her.
She blushed a little and averted her gaze.
"Is something wrong?" I asked.
"N-Nothing at all" She replied nervously.
She's so cute...
I chuckled at her response. I guess she doesn't want me to know about her feelings. That's fine. I don't mind if she's jealous. In fact, I kind of like it.
I looked back at the cat as it curled up on me, resting it's head on my shoulder. I could feel its warm body pressed against mine, and it felt so nice..
