Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Little Talk

"Okay, I should immediately test it out" I said confidently.

I need to search for a suitable victi- I mean something to test this on. It shouldn't take too long if I just look around the streets for a stray cat or something. I stood up and started walking out of the room.

"Damn it, my body feels like crap!" I complained loudly.

My body felt heavy and unresponsive. I had no energy, and my limbs felt numb. No, I don't want this. I don't want to feel this way ever again.

Rhea instantly noticed my discomfort and rushed to my side. "Master, are you alright?"

I hesitated for a moment before lying, "Yeah, I'm fine." I forced myself to leave my room and wandered around my empty house. Ohh yeah... I thought It was a good time to reflect and maybe share a bit about myself.

My name is Rael Adriel, and I'm twenty four years old. I'm a human, just like all of you normal people or let's just say I'm a normal person, a regular guy, nothing special.

I'm pretty much a shut in. I barely leave my house except when I'm going to work or other important stuff. I mean, I could go outside, but I'd rather stay home...

When I was younger, my parents passed away, leaving me in the care of my loving grandparents. They taught me everything I needed to know and we lived together peacefully. But sadly, after I graduated high school, both of them also passed away.

So now I'm living by myself. This house now belong to me. Well it's not really a house, more like a small cabin. It's located near a river and the forest surrounding it were filled with tall and thick trees. Although it's made out of woods but despite it's appearance, the cabin offers me all the comfort I need. I don't need anything more than this.

So yeah, that's about it....

Anyway, I've decided to try out this spell. I'm hoping that this would work.

"Rhea, would you accompany me outside?" I asked.

"Yes, absolutely master" She answered.

I grabbed a jacket and put it on to conceal my appearance. I took everything I need for the spell before walking to the door. After opening the door, I stepped into the chilly night air, with an overcast sky above and a full moon shining bright. The cold didn't faze me, as I had grown accustomed to it.

As we strolled down the path, with Rhea following closely behind, I took a glance at her and couldn't help but admire her beauty. The moonlight illuminated her flawless skin, highlighting her fair complexion. Her lustrous black hair flowed elegantly behind her, and her blue eyes glittered in the moon's radiance.

Damn... She's gorgeous...

Before long, we arrived at the edge of the woods. I made sure to pull my hood over my head and cover my face with a cloth.

We entered the city and proceeded down the streets. I kept walking around and spotted a stray cat lying on the sidewalk. I approached it slowly and crouched down. I gently scooped it up and cradled it in my arms.

The cat looked up at me curiously, it's fur fluffy and soft to the touch. As I petted the cat, feeling its warm body against my skin, it began to purr softly as it rested on my lap. It was a comforting sound, and I couldn't help but smile.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out a piece of meat that I brought along with me. "Here, you can have some meat" I said. The cat eagerly accepted the food and began to chow down.

"You're such a cutie," I said, gazing it lovingly as I watched it devour the meat with delight.

The cat purred happily and rubbed it's head against my leg. I couldn't help but smile and give it a gentle scratch behind the ears.

Now then, where was I? Oh right, the spell. I'm going to drain some of the life force from the cat, and hopefully this would fix my body.
