It was morning, but for a vampire. It's the most unpleasant time.
Unlike what human books usually foretold. Vampires dislikes sunlight not because it incinerate them, but because Vampire are nocturnial race. Their magical capabilities relies on darkness. As the vampiric ancestors are warlocks or magus.
Anyways, due to that. Vampires are hiding from the sunlight, unlike the magical girls or Mune as they call themselves after their ancestor who wield the magic of the moon. Pretty much a direct nemesis to the vampirism race. Also, not to be confused. Magical girls *do* have boys as well, but they are of the minority because their origins are just female variants.
Anyways, some conflicts broke out between the two races and then they fought tilll this day, yada yada yada. You get the point.
[Diary of The Crescent Blood]
I awoken from the bed or just rather worm my way out of the blanket, if Idun was here. She would be berating me about being indignant or something.
I strolled over to the altar that situated my diary. It's simple, i just go over to it. Since it wasn't far from my luxurious bed. Then i wandered to the gothic red curtain that was closed. To gaze beyond it using my tired eyes.
As expected, greeny scenery and a backyard reminiscing of a standard RPG Forest area.
I yawned, and gazed warmly at the diary, it contained lots of experience i've had. It wouldn't be used unless i'm in a bloody situation. Which i rather not do. It's tedious to do, too tedious to think about.
Speaking of which, it has been quite sometime when i wandered outside my hideout. Usually i would felt the urge to brush it off with slothful excuse.
But, my longing this time felt...different.
Before i could pondered on what it was, the door to my bedchamber was opened.
"Your highness, i've prepared breakfast for you. Would you please come down from your 'rat spot' as you named it?" spoke formally the sanguinarian maid with victorian dress with yellow ribbons similar to a wonderland aesthetics.
"Idun, mocking my place of comfort can be consequential, don't you know that?" grimace Auyu as she doesn't enjoy being look down upon, as a perticular trait of having her father's blood in her veins.
"Audyui-sama, i merely repeated what you've stated. Perhaps consulting with those rats hiding in your room would be much more beneficial?" retorted Idun as she pointed out the messy cutesy bedchamber that is her princess's.
"...What kind of maid would make fun of their master at an earshot?" twitched Auyu at the satire being jabbed at her. As she have no confidence in making any meaningful retaliation at her servant pointing out the truth.
"Yours, your highness." answered Idun with no bridle in her attitude, as if this were a comedy sketch with one clear winner on this argument.
"Fuck. I'll proceed now, no need to point out my flawed lifestyle-"
"Your highness, please don't walk down with your sleeping gown again. Also, swearing is unladylike. Please keep that in mind next time." remarked Idun while taking some kind of notes in her handbook, Auyu realized that usually imply more tedious things as she frowned, while changing her clothes. Yes, usually she would let Idun change it, but it's about time she does something of her own volition.
"Idun, how many years was it? I mean, here that we've been hiding." looked Auyu from her window again as if time hadn't moved from back when in the beginning she was just a child.
"9 years, your highness. From what i've gathered, The War still being carried out, but it's gotten more peaceful since the 'Massacre Festival', but the people haven't changed since then, only their tactics changed." naturally answered Idun as she have been waiting for Auyu permitting her to speak.
"And what of the nations?" asked Auyu lazily with her palm on her left cheek while looking at a certain direction far away as if she have a thought in mind. While marching toward the dining hall with Idun.
"Kyurien, the capital of Mune still enforced a ban on hemomancy and occultism entirely, the humans living under their rule, if suspected to be folllowers of vampirism, they are to undergo a 'cleansing' order, few are able to survive such a torturious method. They are currently making progress in academic research and possibly a rumors of increasing their powers using some forbidden technique. It seems their queen is currently busy in secluded in an attempt to break through the Shin phase.
Mephistopheles, the capital of Luren is still undergoing a royal succession banquet. However, it seems that the state of nobility is lackluster currently due to the lack of high ranking vampires that have perished under the 'chaotic' period of the war. That's why fresh bloods are taking their chances to increase their danger level to become higher nobility. With Barons becoming viscounts, viscounts becoming counts and so forth." explained Idun with emotionless tone while her hands clench into a tight ball unconciously.
"The world haven't changed from when that incident happened, Audyui-sama." declared Idun as if reading out a tale that both knew the content and the impression it gave. With her eyes darkened and looking for an answer from her mistress.
"I see. I think it's about time i set out. Idun" Auyu looked at the maid, as she have been taking care of herself forever. As she drowned in stillness and feigning ignorance from reality that keep repeating itself. It was her that were on her side and the strangest caretaker she ever had.
"...I heed your command, your highness" bowed Idun with a muddled mind and expression, with her heart beating as stillness of time, and the time she spent with her mistress was going to end. As her eyes were blurred and unimaginable anguish from leaving the silly child that were always moody and lifeless.
"Thank you for your service, Idun. My mother and father, whatever plan they set out for me. I will walk upon it now." uttered Auyu with a conviction, as if the flame that were slowly consumed by winter was roaring once more as it burn the wood that been supplying it, that being Idun.
With that conversation, Auyu went in the door to the Dining hall with Idun awaiting outside, as she excused herself of having to pack her mistress's belongning for her journey.
Idun looked upon the pictures of her mistress's parents, she gazed upon it dearly with well-remembered regrets and reverance.
"The Crescent Blood, it was prophesized to be the one who can be the destroyer or the savior of both race. As the name suggest, it's a mixed blood that is spawned from a Mune and a Luren. Her Highness's parents was a great vampire and a leader of Mune, however such prophecy would tore the poor mistress apart. I'm disheartened by the journey that her highness will face...Please let the Goddess or Demons save her soul."
Prayed the once-formidable maid that crushed the good half of the Star defenders, the elites of Munes, who served her mistress sole-heartedly. And with beliefs in her abilities. As she knew, the mistress was a genius that she had ever known that could be unrivaled if she put her mind into it.
However, Auyu did not know this. As she was enjoying the nice view and the tea.
