Once Lara and Ezra had shrunk the giant down to normal human size he let out a yell before running away from the people in sight.
"What a big bully, once he gets our size he runs and hides like a baby", Lara says laughing as she watches the giant run to a cave inside of the mountain.
"Should we stop him?", Torin asks also watching the the cave the giant just disappeared into. She shakes her head no and walks over to the old woman who is waiting for her bruised and cut leg to be healed. "You guys really missed it. Lily saved this lady from getting crushed to death. We had been helping others and when we were on our way over that boulder, over there, was rolling down the hill and Lily jumped in front of the lady and sent the rock flying like thirty foot", Torin exclaims with his hand alls over the place as he had been telling them the story.
"Nice work Lily", Lara says grinning at Lily holding her hand up for a high five. Lily slaps her new friends hand and turns to Ezra who looks at her concerned. Lily's smile falters at his expression.
"Did you even know you could do that before jumping in front of a huge rock", Ezra asks in disbelief. Lily who is embarrassed by the answer looks down and shakes her head no. "If you put your life in needless danger like that again you will be kicked from the group. I'm happy you were lucky this time but unless you have the proper training don't attempt something like that again", he says angrily before walking off to the cart leaving the rest of the four still standing.
Lily feels her face flushed in embarrassment at being scolded like a child. She's an adult and yes her action wasn't the smartest but she had managed to save someone that has to count for something didn't it? She studys the grass covered ground kicking at a rock half embedded in the ground for something to do.
"Dont pay to much attention to him right now Lily. He was just worried about you. He had broke concentration for the shrinking spell halfway through and I guess that was why. He just doesn't want anything to happen to you, I think he has a bit of a crush", Lara says nudging the other woman gently with her elbow. "What you did was brave and without it this woman wouldn't be alive. To her your action means the world. Keep your chin up okay", she says kindly before running after her brother.
"Her brother really needs to see a doctor", Torin says staring off at the siblings. Lily raises her head looking at him in question. Ezra seemed fine to her. "They need to remove that stick thats up his butt", he continues glancing down quickly seeing Lily begin to crack up along with Tarrow.
She holds her sides as she doubles over laughing. "That was a good one, very unexpected", she tells him wiping the happy tears from her eyes. The three make their way to the rest of the group and prepare to travel to their next destination along the border.
Torin and Tarrow each ride a horse while Ezra steers the cart and Lara sits with Lily in the back going over the books they have of the druids. What she's learned so far is she doesn't really have to worry about encantations but really feel whatever she is trying to do. There are some encantations that she will need to learn but they are mostly for healing which will be beneficial and curses which she doesn't really plan to use. Curses seem kind of evil in her opinion.
They study for what seems like hours before stopping at a rest spot for the night. Though Ezra was supposed to be the one helping her he was avoiding talking to her which aggravated her just a bit. If he wanted to act that way then so could she.
She walks over to where Torin and Tarrow are standing to help them make stew for dinner. Though they were louder than Ezra there company was nice. They made sure to keep a smile on her face and laugh often.
"Looks like your silent treatment is getting shot right back at you", Lara says from her spot next to her brother. He ignores his sister's comment and continues to prep some potions that they were running low on. "You do realize she is a grown woman not a child. She may not say a whole lot but I doubt she liked being scolded like a child. If I was you and you don't want this to get out of hand I would apologize".
"Why should I apologize? She and everyone else was so pleased with what she did that everyone is seeming to miss the point that if her magic reflex hadn't activated that she and that old woman would be dead. Excuse me if I'm the only one here that understands that crazy actions like that have deadly repercussions", he replies angrily while stirring a bubbling cauldron counter clockwise.
"Well I think she probably knew more than anyone else what was at stake standing in front of that rolling boulder. She decided the cost was worth it and I find that admirable. Just so you know having confidence in a person can really affect them, you stomping around being negative kind of shows that you don't have very much faith in her at all. She is going to feel that and its not going to work in your favor if you like her. Quit being such a pig headed loser and apologize or Tarrow may snatch your woman away before your eyes", Lara says gently squeezing her brothers shoulder and walking to join the others.
Ezra looks up at the others and sees Lily laughing at something Tarrow said. His stomach twists in agitation knowing his sister is right. He puts the bright blue healing potion in five vials and corks it shut. Dusting off his pants he walks over to Lily pulling her to the side were he apologizes.
