Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

The doubts of the twins were assuaged after hearing the vulgar conversation between the three men. It turned out the group had coveted their bodies, and weren't people from Olbrand. This would make what they were about to do much simpler.

Groups like these are like cancers in any area. They are difficult to get rid of, and even if you do, a new one will pop up to replace it. The officials in charge of the town won't even bother to deal with these groups, as long as they stick to their area. It's only when these groups become arrogant and start harming those they shouldn't, that they will be dealt with mercilessly.

These groups understand it, and seeing that the clothes of the twins weren't anything special, they knew no one would uphold justice for them. They had done many things like this before, and which time didn't go as easily as the last?

With that level of confidence, the three of them approached the bed where the twins were assumed to be. Just as the group were about to reach the bed, with lust and excitement filling their eyes, a sound of rustling came from two sides of the room.

The three perverts had lived in the worst part of town since they were born, so of course they had a higher sense of vigilance, but when it came to playing with girls, they had grown conceited, add onto that, they had never met a mage nor a warrior, and it wasn't a surprise that they'd fail to realise the danger.

Isla and Sila were ruthless in their attacks, using the poorly made knives to thrust into the necks of two of the perverts instantaneously. The two of them seemed to have suffered a great shock, grasping their throats, only the sound of their failed and choked breaths resounding throughout the room.

The leader of the group attempted to yell out, but neither of the twins would allow him to speak, just in case there were more of his people waiting somewhere in the inn. Isla quickly slid her knife along the leaders throat, as Sila used hers to stab his heart.

After the three men fell to the ground breathless, silence returned to the room, and the inn remained none the wiser.

Isla: Let's go ahead and check their bodies, maybe they've got something of value.

Sila: Alright, but I'm not expecting much from these trash.

Isla could only smile as she searched the corpse of the leader. Her sister was usually silent, simply because she had a venomous tongue and didn't want to get them in trouble when they were in the village.

After checking the corpses, very little was found, as expected. Some copper coins, which belonged to the lowest denomination currency. The twins themselves had only seen copper and silver, which belonged to what villagers and townspeople could get their hands on. However, they had heard that there were different levels for each. Each coin was worth an increment of 1000 of the coin directly below it, and the list went copper, silver, gold, purple gold and platinum.

The peddlers often said that the academy where all the children of nobles, and the very talented commoners go, requires a gold coin to enter.

To Isla and Sila, a gold coin was an existence outside of their abilities at the moment, and they would need two to get into that academy, let alone the expenses needed after they got in.

Seeing that they couldn't find anything else on the group of perverts, Isla looked towards Sila.

Isla: Let's dump them outside somewhere, otherwise I won't be able to sleep knowing that they're here.

Sila: Agreed, just throw them in an alley nearby.

So the twins effortlessly picked up the corpses and rushed out of the windows, using their incredible speed to reach the dingy alleys nearby. They tossed the corpses in the foul smelling corner and rushed back to the room.

Lifting the blanket and moving the supplies they had shaped to look like them, they laid down next to each other, falling asleep as soon as their heads touched the bed.

When the morning sun broke through the darkness, and the roosters in the town started crowing, Isla was the first to be awoken. She looked at the face which looked exactly like hers, pressed up against hers, just as it did every morning, with a very helpless doting. Sila had once again tightly hugged her, her mouth still had a little drool that had made its way down Isla's cheek. Feeling the wetness on her face, Isla's eyes widened sharply and she quickly pushed Sila away from her.

Sila woke up in a daze, annoyed by her sisters actions

Sila: Why did you push me away?

Isla wanted to laugh angrily,

Isla: You drooled all over my face.

Sila looked at her masterpiece and couldn't help letting out a wheezing laugh, but seeing Isla's eyes that wanted to burn her, she quickly acted coquettish.

Sila: Sister, I'm sorry. Whenever I sleep next to you, I always feel too comfortable, it won't happen again.

Isla didn't believe the little liar, this conversation happened every few days, and just like today she'd end up forgiving her sister. After all, who made Sila her most important person?

Isla: Well, just try to control yourself next time.

Sila heard her sister's usual exhortation, and gave a perfunctory response. She knew her sister would never mind about such a thing. It was just to add a little excitement to their daily routine.

The two got up and packed their things up, they were going to sell the hide and magic crystal they had taken from the horned rabbit, hoping it could add a decent amount to their savings.

When they walked out of the room with their belongings, they didn't look at any of the people that were mingling in the inn, not caring about the shocked or puzzled looks they received, nor about the countless whispers wondering how they were still fine. To the twins, this episode at the inn would never be worth remembering, after all, they were set to begin an adventure far greater than what a little town could offer them.
