The streets in the early morning were teeming with activity. Men and women, either going about their lives, setting up stalls or going to work. The hustle and bustle added a little bit of flavour to this unknown town, but the twins wouldn't be impressed by this level.
The two walked around the commercial street, they ignored the hawkers and bypassed the stalls. The place they would need to go to sell the parts of the horned rabbit were situated in the actual stores.
After they had walked from beginning to end, the store they set their eyes on was the largest trader in the town. Looking at the items they had on display was enough to know they could afford the price, and a place like this probably wouldn't perform shady acts to risk their reputation.
Isla gestured to her sister, who in turn agreed, and both walked in. Just walking in the two could smell the difference between the two sides. There were few customers inside at the moment, but the clothes they wore were countless times more expensive than the twins, however Isla and Sila showed no timidity, calmly walking up to the counter.
The shopkeeper has been in this position for many years and has seen all types of people, so naturally he wouldn't act arrogantly in front of a pair of village girls. Just looking at their sharp eyes makes him understand that the pair are not simple. With a smile he greeted the girls.
Shopkeeper: Good morning ladies. How might I help you?
Isla: Good morning, we'd like to sell some items from our hunt.
The shopkeeper was a little surprised, although they do buy certain animal parts, but there still needs to be a particular rarity to the kind they buy. Usually they only purchase parts from the more dangerous animals such as tigers and bears, or special variants of other kinds, just as he was about to remind the girls that not everything could be sold here, he saw what they took out and his eyes nearly fell out.
This store was a subsidiary of a larger trading company, and he as the storekeeper had the chance to go to Rusvil for the meeting of all storekeepers. Although he was from one of the more desolate towns, he still saw some of the items that the main store sold, including the magic beast parts.
The horned rabbit parts were items on sale in Rusvil, but rarely ever saw them in any of the towns he had been to. Even if it was one of the lowest ranked magic beasts, to see a pair of twins take it out in this backward place was a huge shock to him. However he has sat in this position for so long, he quickly calmed his emotions and smiled.
Shopkeeper: So you would like to sell the hide, horn and magic core of the horned rabbit?
Isla: Yes. We didn't know if the bones had any value, so we didn't bother to bring them.
Sila looked at her sister lying so calmly and repressed the snicker that was about to come out.
The shopkeeper didn't delve into the reason and simply said.
Shopkeeper: For the lot, I can offer 100 silver coins.
The twins didn't know the true value of a horned rabbit, but knew the fact that all businessman would bid low before they haggle.
Isla: We were looking for 250 silver coins.
The shopkeeper sucked in a breath. 250 silver coins, although he could still make a small profit, but it wouldn't be enough, so he quickly responded.
Shopkeeper: 250 is far too much. At that rate I'd probably be at a loss when selling it in the future. How about 180?
Isla: We know it's worth the price, we just don't want to be lugging around so much unnecessary weight. 220 seems more than fair.
The shopkeeper gritted his teeth. This girl was very eloquent when bartering.
Shopkeeper: Why don't we meet in the middle? 200 silver coins. Everyone leaves happy?
Isla looked at Sila, as if pondering, but covertly winked, looking for praise. Sila held back the urge to roll her eyes.
Isla: Alright 200 it is. You've got yourself a deal.
The shopkeeper was elated. Although it was only a maximum of 70 silver coins profit for him, but in the town a silver coin could last a regular family a quarter of a year.
He quickly counted out 200 silver coins, dividing them into two bags and handed them over.
Isla took the bags and asked Sila to turn around, before putting both of the bags in Sila's rucksack.
The two bid farewell to the shopkeeper and headed towards the market.
After buying two horses and some necessary supplies they left the town by mid morning.
The two of them had trouble since they didn't know how to ride horses, but just like everything they had learned by that point, they went by feel. Thanks to their physical abilities, they didn't have much trouble getting on and off the horses, and slowly they learned how to direct the horse, how to trot, how to walk and finally how to gallop. Although they were still very new to it, they wouldn't have much trouble if they just rode on the official road.
Not long after they left, a mighty group consisting of the villagers of Olbrand, as well as the various relatives that lived in surrounding villages came to the town, asking about the twins. Many people had seen the two walking along the commercial street, after all, beautiful twin girls were still a rare occurrence.
After asking around the group knew that the twins had sold the horned rabbit parts, bought horses and supplies and left before they showed up. The villagers wanted to make trouble with the trading store by reason of their large numbers, but the store itself had quite a few guards, all who had seen battle. After the guards showed their ruthless attacks, the group quickly fled from the town, once again scolding and cursing as they left.
