Chapter 9 - ۞ Eight ۞

"YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE TEST?"

Never heard about it. "No. What is it? When is it?"

"August 16th."

I bit my lip, "The day after my birthday."

"You are from August 15th?" A nod. "I'm October 25th. You are a bit older than me. Then some of us in our grade. But well, the test is a magical brain test. You can't fool it. It tells the actual level of intelligence of our brain, I'm looking forward to it because I'm sure mine will be higher than my cousin's," he grinned mischievous, but I felt sick.

I felt breathless. This isn't good. The levels of intelligence of hybrids are too high. It'll get people suspicious of me. This isn't good. "When did they start doing this test? I've never heard of it." My parents would have told me about it if they had it on their time.

"I think it began about 10 years ago. They only do it on the 12th graders each year. Since we are here now, it'll be our time," fuck. "Know what else is amazing? Two of the Ministers will come to judge the results and give them to us. Last year I think the ones who came were the Minister of Mischief and the Minister of Warfare," the vampire and the fae. "But according to what the principal told us, this time it'll be the Minister of Death and the Minister of the Sky," the demon and the archangel. "Bella? Are you okay? You suddenly turned ghostly pale."

Fuck. I have to get a hold of myself. It's not a place for me to freak out. "Blood deficiency," I lied. "It's because I wasn't able to drink enough in the breakfast, after Anna Hwan threw it at me."

Gabe arched his eyebrows, his eyes worried, "Want to go back, get more, and then come here for us to get into the debate club?"

I gulped, I'm really thirsty for blood right now. I feel my stomach empty. "No. It's okay," I took a deep breath and got on my feat. "Let's go there already, then I'll go get more shake. If you want to come with me you can."

"Hm, I want to. But I'm kind of scared of the vamps."

"My dorm is in the top tower of right side of the Vampire House castle. You can go up there flying with your wings. That way they won't be able to do anything. My balcony is also big, you can easily land there if you want to."

"Okay. Then deal. Now, let's go."

As I walked, I felt better, but still thirsty. It took us two minutes to cross the entire place until we reached the stand of the Debate Club, and to my surprise, all of the Kings and Queens, except for the fae asshole, were there. "Please, tell me they aren't all part of this."

Gabe bit his bottom lip, "They are."

"Fuck," I cursed as I approached them and their gaze went to Gabe instead of me. They probably believe I don't have the mind to be here, while they know he's been holding himself here.

"Gabriel?" The guy who looked similar to Khan, except that his hair was styled behind and he was blonde, spoke. He's probably Dante, the asshole's twin. "Are you here to enter the debate club?"

He nodded, "Yes."

In that second, the boy who must have been Devon given his anger, stepped forward, but I put myself in front of Gabriel. "Got yourself a vampire whore now, Gabriel?" He greeted looking at me with a disgusted gaze, but that didn't scare me one bit.

"Don't lay a finger on him!" I exclaimed.

"Hah, Amethyst, what the fuck you think you are doing? You should be cowering your ass as usual. Why are you acting off character, wrench? Back off and let Devon deal with his cousin, you have nothing to do with this, weakling," Brandon yelled sarcastically and I didn't even look at him.

"Is this one of yours, Brandon?" Devon questioned.

The jerk chuckled, "Yes. We've been trying to educate this weird whore, but she's quite stubborn and doesn't comply."

"Back off, vampire," Devon said through greeted teeth.

Grinning viciously, I glared at him, looking up because they are all taller than me. "I won't move until we are done with what we are here to do. And neither you, nor Brandon can order me around. I'm as free as you are. And I am not scared of a demon like you. Why don't you ask your little gang underlings what I did to them?"

He hissed and stepped closer but I didn't move, "You bitch. Was it you who beat them?"

Brandon gasped, "That's impossible. She's weak."

Zara and Sabrina made a disagreeable sound and he turned to them annoyed, "She's anything but weak, Brandon!" They said together.

"Shut the fuck up, you two. I know her. She's from my House in school. You've just met her. You know absolutely nothing!" He scoffed, not believing them, but I felt great that they came to help me. Even if just for a second. "So, back off."

"Stop!" The boy who I believe to be Dante yelled and they all froze. "Stop it, damn it. Back off of your cousin, Devon. For fuck's sake, this isn't the time. And you too, Brandon. Leave the girl alone. You never know, she could have been fooling you all this time, letting you believe she's weak!"

He gasped and turned to me, and I grinned.

"I'm sorry to meet you in such a complicated moment," the blonde told me. "I'm Dante. Khan's older twin brother." So he knows I've met his brother already? "You are here to accompany Gabriel, right?" He sounds friendly, but he emanates vicious energy.

"No. I came here to apply to the club with him!"

They all gasped and Brandon lost his cool and came at me, holding me by my neck in the air. Everyone around also gasped and stared at us, "Are you insane? You think the debate club is something a medium student such as your lowly ass can enter just because you want you?" His eyes were full of dread, and he sank his claws on my neck making me flinch and bleed again. "I won't fucking allow it."

"Stop! You don't understand. She was-" Gabriel yelled, trying to explain.

"It's okay, Gabe," I said, unfazed, still staring at Brandon's eyes, feeling the pain of his claws in my neck. "Let it go. I was being forced to come here either way," I scoffed, making Brandon get annoyed and sink his nails deeper. "I didn't want to get into this stupid club. Let them… deal with her later," my voice got weaker as I struggled coughing blood, while all the other top 11 just stared at what he was doing.

Gabriel I understand, since he doesn't have the strength to help out, but the others do. And I'm not in the mood to beat Brandon ass yet. I'll let him think I'm weak for a little bit longer.

"Put. Me. Down!" I said slowing, using my actual hybrid vampire power to making him let go off me. I've never used it in here, but it's a good moment to do so. "Put. Me. Slowly. Down. Brandon."

His pupils widened and he did as I told him, silently, then took off his nails from my neck slowly. I didn't mind the blood again. Let it drip. I don't mind. I'm not going to die anyways, so why care?

When he got back to himself, he seemed confused and I grinned viciously. "Thank you for once, Brandon Park." Then I turned to Gabe. "Do what you have to do. I've already told you where and how to meet me. Now, I'm thirsty, I need to drink some blood."

I looked at the others and for a second they all flinched. It was fucking hilarious. Imagine if they knew what I am. Oh dear, if there weren't horrible consequences, I would love to tell them just to see them shit themselves.

"Why are you flinching? Aren't I a weakling and you the strongest in school? What's with this coward act now?" I scoffed and turned to Brandon again. "As I told you earlier, I'll make you pay tenfold, Brandon Park." Then my eyes went to Dante, "When Eva Beaumont come to you and ask why I'm not here, don't come at me later. You made your choice." I turned to Brandon again, "As you made your bed, you will have to sleep on it!"
