"I want to work, " I said as we ate at the dinner table and all I heard was pin-drop silence.
Before I said those words, there was chatter and laughter between the three of us. Now Zeus and Kai looked at me like I had grown another head.
"Why? " Kai asked with confusion laced on his features.
Zeus on the other hand, was hard to read as always. I hated that I always had to rake my head to try and figure out what he was thinking.
The thing the two of them had in common was the way they were looking at me. They were staring at me like they were reading my mind.
That was impossible since I had learned to block their minds from mine. Unless it was necessary, it was going to stay that way.
"Because I don't want to stay at the house doing nothing. I'm not used to that. Before all this, I worked three jobs just to make ends meet. " I said as I gestured with my hands, referring to the lavish lifestyle they had let me have for so long.
