Reading Alexander's diary was a lot like reading porn. Boring porn at that. His 16th century language was a complete turn off. Not to mention the fact that he was cheating on his wife and was not the least bit remorseful for it.
Alexander and his wife had started drifting and he was impatient and short-tempered with her as compared to his lover. Every little thing about Mrs. Griffith annoyed him.
I found something weird about his love interest. It seemed like he had fallen for her too fast. It wasn't love at first sight. It was something else. Alexander was willing to burn the world for her. Even his friend warned him about her. However, the journal did not get spooky until a certain entry that had me shocked to the core.
