Eliana looked at Damien, trying to figure out how to answer his thoughtful remarks. She appreciated how he wanted to protect her, but it didn't feel good hearing that he thought her too weak to handle his problems. "Thank you, Dame, for looking out for me, but I am capable of more than you think. You always listen to my troubles while handling your own. Why should it be any different the other way around? Why am I not competent enough to work on my career but simultaneously support you?"
In spite of her usual kind and accommodating character, Eliana had a fierce side to her, which currently came forward, and Damien was overwhelmed. All he wanted was for her to accomplish all she wished for. Why was that bothering her? It wasn't his intention to upset or belittle her capabilities but he didn't think that he had done something wrong. "I didn't mean to offend you, Eli. You can do it all, but you don't have to. Why would I deliberately make life more difficult for you?"
