Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

Volume 1:UPCOMING

How did it happen? What went wrong? What did he do wrong?

She kept asking herself as she ran as fast as she could for the fear of her child's life, which laid wrapped in a shawl in her arms, who was fast asleep without the care of the world.

Suddenly she came to a stop, in front stood a large building with a large cross at the top of it. It was already past midnight and no one could be found on the streets by this time. She quickly ran up the stairs and went straight for the large doors, banging it with her right hand as she shouted for help. And not long after, a Nun came in sight when she opened the door.

"Nun.... N-Nun... Pl-please, please h-help me!!! ". She stuttered as she tried to breathe.

The Nun was shocked at first but then she quickly let her in before looking around to see if the person pursuing her was nearby. Shutting the doors she turned around to ask the woman what was wrong.

"What happened sister Odelia?"

"Its my husband, Harold...I-I think he's.....he's possessed!"

Odelia, the mother of the child answered. The Nun's eyes widened a bit.

"And how are you sure sister Odelia?"

Odelia stared at the Nun before looking at her baby and she began to cry.

"He-he wants to kill our child!!....he wants to kill my baby..."

She said as she sobbed harder. Before the Nun could say a word, they heard a loud bang.

BANG! BANG!! BANG!!!

The Nun then told Odelia to hide behind the altar of the church quickly. She wasn't sure of what Odelia told her, but she had to check for herself. She took the rosary in her pocket and held it tightly in her hand, as she approached the door murmuring some bible quotations. She unlocked the door only to be pushed back with such force that made her hit her side on a nearby wall. She groaned in pain and tried to get up but couldn't due to a broken rib.

The person who was banging the door stepped in with ragged breathing and veins popped out on his skin, eyes pure white with veins round it like wires.

Odelia who was behind the altar was trembling with fear when she heard the door open and the heavy breathing of someone. Looking for a safe corner, Odelia placed her baby carefully inside a box she saw at a corner, she was thankful that her baby was still fast asleep. Mumbling some prayers, she came out of her hiding place to see her husband charging for the altar. She was shaken to the core, but having a little bit of courage for her child, she picked up a staff nearby before charging for her husband.

Her husband's attention was then diverted to her and as she was close to hitting him on the head, he beat her to it. He hit her on the stomach with speed and force sending her flying to only crash at the base of the altar, colliding head-on with the stairs as she laid motionless.

But before he could concentrate on what he came for. A bullet pierced through the back of his head to only come out from his forehead, creating a clean hole. He froze as his eyes came back to normal before falling lifeless to the ground with a thud.

"Whyyyy!!!!!"

Screamed the Nun at the person who shot him. A lady in a black dress holding a gun in her hand kept staring at the man on the ground before walking up to the lady and placing her fingers on her neck to feel her pulse.

"She's dead."

"What?!.... No, that can't be!"

The Nun tried to stand up but couldn't because she was in much pains. Suddenly a cry of a baby was heard behind the altar. Looking at the altar, the lady walked round to only find a baby in a box.

Keeping a steady gaze at the baby, she went close to the baby before picking the baby up. Walking to meet the Nun, she carefully squatted down to face her.

"Joycelyn... You shouldn't have killed him, now the child is an orphan... "

"If I hadn't done that nun, then the baby would have been done for and the man wouldn't have been able to forgive himself when he turn sane... Its for the best."

Joycelyn replied and the Nun sighed and flinched at the pain she felt before speaking.

"May God forgive you."
