Clara was patiently checking Simon's injuries on his back. The deep wounds were healing slowly as the vampire had slashed him badly, and Simon wasn't helping the healing process by not eating. "You need to look after yourself, dear. There is no use in weakening yourself because Georgina will need you in full strength to overcome whatever state she wakes up in."
"I am fine, mother." Simon's eyes were void, and his expression bored. He didn't care about anything other than his mate waking up. He wasn't falling apart because he had shoved all his feelings away and created a place within without any emotions. No joy, no anger or hate, no excitement, solely a neutral state of being. Because the alternative of thinking about maybe never seeing those beautiful brown eyes again would crash his soul and make it unbearable.
