The Institute's library was a single large building with a single extended entrance that also served as the exit.
This humongous white building had windows on almost every angle. The building was over fifty meters tall and had six floors, with each floor representing different years for the students. The final years had their library on the top floor.
While the year ones couldn't access any library above theirs, the others could access anyone below their level.
Such was happening now as the lowest floor was occupied by students of different levels. Seth could even see one final-year student browsing through the bookshelves.
He didn't care though since he had more important things to do.
In front of Seth were different books of different sizes and categories.
Two of them were about the Institute's history, one was the history of the kingdom. This particular one was the largest as it was as thick as four others combined.
"So the institute was created by Valeira Damien, the master of principal Salmit, over a hundred years ago. Well… it's no wonder he took it seriously. His master's legacy is his legacy." Seth was reading through the second history book of the institute.
"Bahh… it's all boring." Seth was halfway through the book but he closed it and tossed it to the side.
The Institute's history didn't mean much to him. Since he came back to life, he hadn't been able to figure out what era he landed in.
Now he was beginning to regret not interacting with humans in his past life. Being secluded from humans had its pros and cons. All he could see now though was its disadvantages.
His main reason for picking the history of the kingdom was to find out if he could find something that would allow him to trace the era. If he had ended up in the past, he could as well stop the war from happening but what if he had been born years in the future and even the dragons he planned to punish were all dead?
He needed to know and he still hadn't found any clue whatsoever.
All he hoped, for now, was to find even the slightest clue in this seven-hundred-page book. Just the slightest clue could go a long way.
With such hope, he began reading through the book, flipping through pages every minute. Anyone who saw him would think he was simply wasting time flipping through the book but with his heightened senses through mana, he could read through the book even faster.
The only problem was, he would look crazy to students, and teachers of high standards could catch on to what he was doing. A high-level technique only usable by mages from Class Four and above. That was the technique Seth was currently utilizing.
If he had known from the onset that this huge book wouldn't provide the slightest clue, he wouldn't have engaged in it at all.
Unknown to him or anyone in the Kingdom, the war that almost wiped out the dragons only happened twenty years ago.
"Damnit!" His hand slammed against the table he used for reading, drawing unnecessary attention to himself.
He quickly noticed the displeased and disgruntled gazes on him and hurriedly smiled awkwardly. "Hehe… I'm sorry." He said before turning back to the same book that made him angry in the first place.
He had spent close to four hours of his first day reading through the kingdom's history and he was yet to get the faintest clue. Even after skipping lunch, there was no progress and he was already guessing that the book might not contain anything useful.
The good part?
Well, now he had more knowledge of the kingdom than he did before—from the kingdom's age to the former kings and even the former owners of the land, most of the wars that had occurred in the past—Seth now knew all these things.
Even though they had no usefulness to him now, this information would come in handy in the future.
With a sigh followed by a forceful shake of his body like someone who got electrocuted, Seth closed the book and rose to leave the library. Today was a failure but tomorrow might have something better.
He only had an hour left before the beginning of his private lesson with Raiden who was getting motivated to beat Seth every damn time they met.
Leaving the library, his first destination was the cafeteria. He arrived, bought food, and left immediately. He would eat while waiting for Raiden to come to beat him up.
"I should probably start evading a few punches while allowing others to hit me."
"Would be better if I evade the heavier punches while taking the lighter ones." He arrived in front of the training facility and took the side stairs down to his private room below the building.

"The reaper has arrived." Someone announced, his voice entering a room occupied by a single individual. The king of Vedorg. He sat on his golden throne that stood higher than any standing my average man.
"Let him in." King Vedor replied with his voice dripping with royalty and power.
Thud.
The thick doors opened and a skinny man walked in. He looked to be close to death and didn't even emit any aura. If anything, he looked like a normal human nearing his end. He stood over six feet, slightly arching forward with a curved blade on his back.
"It's an honor to serve you once again, King of Vedorg." The man called the reaper said with a slight bow that showed a level of respect.
"I'm honored you responded. Even more, you didn't kill the messenger this time." King Vedor responded to the reaper.
"Since you sent a noble, I figured it was important and that you'd also want him back alive." The man replied, walking closer to the throne.
The King gestured "Have a seat. We're not here to talk about the life of my subordinate. There's a big commission for you this time."
"Oh, how big is it this time?" The reaper asked.
"You'll be cutting off two absurd geniuses before they bloom into something deadly."
"I see. It certainly is big. But how absurd are they?" The reaper asked.
The king stroked his beard for a moment before finally opening his mouth. "Rachel Samiel. You know how dangerous she's become because we ignored her, right? Both geniuses are at her level and what's more scary, they're all from the Samiel family."
"What the?" The reaper's interest had been piqued successfully.
"Now, would you be taking on the job or not? We don't want more monsters like Rachel and we certainly can't fail to eliminate them, that's why we're sending you for the job." King Vedor asked with a wicked smile.
The Reaper replied with an even more wicked grin. "Of course, I'll be taking care of them."
