A few days later
Wilder could be seen walking out of the TRT dorms with someone in tow. Ever since his dazzling performance at the 3rd year graduation party, the dorms had forced Noland and his cronies to stop harassing Wilder and his friends. They too wanted to keep Wilder because of his potential; having someone like him farm sources for them was an opportunity they couldn't let slip.
This was mainly because to succeed in the game, one would need a certain level of strength and skill in real life, and Wilder had all that and much more. But now they weren't the only ones that had their eyes on Wilder; the head instructor of the Warhawk Academy had promised to extract Wilder from their care.
And of course he had the right and power to do so; after all, the Wilder scholarship was to the Warhawk Academy; only he might have to pay a price.
"Aren't we taking a bus?" Wilder suddenly asked the person beside him
This was Anya; she towered beside Wilder with her crimson-red uniform. She was always the serious type. Even now that they were on break, she was still putting on her uniform wherever she wanted to go.
"No, we are heading to the other side of the city. I will drive." Anya spoke, and in the next moment she took a turn into a small parking lot.
they were in college, it was normal for her to be able to drive, but she never did so, always taking the bus to school as per protocol.
"hm? That's yours?" Wilder asked with a stunned expression on his face.
This was an X-series car.
There were the best of the best supercars in this day and age: Ferrari, Lamborghini? The x series car completely dwarfed those guys; even with a lot of money, you still wouldn't be able to get an x series car. Influence had a big part to play in acquiring one of these monsters.
Anya was able to get one? What did that mean?
"what? Hell no! They are too impractical. This is my guy." Anya said to Wilder dismissively while tapping her computer watch.
"Bep, bep," a pitch black car that looked more like a SWAT vehicle sounded, and it was right beside the X series super car.
"Oh," Wilder nodded when he saw that.
It looked more like Anya's style.
He then got inside, and not long after,
"Vroomm," they sped out of the parking lot and into the streets.
After the graduation ceremony, several people had sent invitations to Wilder to have a meet and greet, and Wilder had honored a few but not every single one. For example, Liam's mother had invited Wilder over several times, and he flat out rejected them.
She was too extreme, and even though he had crossed into the enhanced human stage, he believed that she just needed time to find a suitable way to continue torturing him.
But there were those he accepted, for example, the one he was heading to right now, Anya's mother had invited him over.
At first he didn't know that Anya's parents had high standing, but after she explained it to him, he came to understand, plus he was doing it as a favor to Anya. He didn't know her mother, but Anya was a friend, so he had to
"Vroom" soon they got onto the high way.
"What do you use this guy for again?" Wilder asked with a fidgety expression on his face.
He had taken a peek into the back of the car after perceiving a weird smell, and now he couldn't help but frown. There was a huge desk with several knives placed on it, and there were also several tools on the walls at the back plus a horrid smell.
To think a lady would be driving this sort of car was definitely out of place, but it wasn't his place to judge.
Wilder then turned to look outside the car.
This city was called Demon Whale City; it was named after the huge whale-like creature he had seen when he first got here; apparently, this beast was the city guardian and was very important to them.
They even had an army dedicated to the security of this creature and the city; this army was called the demon whale army. It was one of the strongest forces in the whole place, and if coupled with the demon whale, it was perhaps the strongest army in the city.
A human city being guarded by a creature looked out of place in a world where both species were in a state of constant conflict.
Coincidentally, they were heading out to see a high-ranking official of the demon whale army.
Anya's mother
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
After getting off the highway, Anya branched off into a small estate on the side; it wasn't as highly developed as the rest of the city, having sparsely spread infrastructure around the place.
"Sigh" Anya sighed as she took a turn and parked the car in front of a small two-story house of some sort; the place didn't look high tech or anything in fact it looked a bit old.
Soon, Anya parked the car properly and stepped out.
"Fair warning, my mom is a bit strict…." Anya muttered while standing in front of the door of the two-story house.
She didn't even give Wilder the chance to speak before ringing the doorbell.
"ding"
The otherwise courageous and firm Anya was very nervous at this point, and a bead of sweat could be seen rolling down from her forehead, her relationship with her mother was a bit complex.
After waiting for a few seconds, the sound of footsteps was soon heard approaching the door, and with every step Anya seemed to grow more nervous.
"click"
The door slowly swung open, revealing a lady in a greenish military uniform and an apron hanging from her waist.
Unlike what Wilder was expecting, there was a very big and welcoming smile on the lady's face.
This was Anya's mother.
