From that distance, Wilder could still feel a lot of pressure emanating from the blood mane lion.
If that thing got loose right now, it would probably take a lot of them down with it. Even from afar, Wilder could see its razor-sharp claws and teeth, its bulky body, and its red mane. Unlike a normal lion, it didn't have much hair, only a long mane running down from its head to its tail.
"These guys are just too much." On the head instructors bench, one of the senior instructors couldn't help but shake their heads at the sight of this display.
They were really being too reckless by bringing a rank 3 beast into the city, let alone bringing it to the academy.
If the city's demon whale guard got a whiff of this, they would throw a massive feat.
"Hehe, they are kids, let them have their fun. You should be more worried about where they got the creature from; you better check it out. We don't need to offend some powerful creature for no reason." The head instructor commented from the side.
Some blood mane lions would move in prides and some would move alone, though the latter was more likely than the former, so they didn't need to be too worried.
But they had to be cautious.
"Got it," one of the senior instructors said as he made his way out of the gathering
Meanwhile, the year 3 cadets gave a robust speech on how the creature was very powerful and how they worked very hard to capture it all to show them the dangers of the outside world.
Of course, these kinds of speeches would only move the first years and the newly promoted second years.
To the second years like Wilder, these guys were just boasting and trying to impress the juniors and their friends and family, though this didn't mean that the second years weren't moved, they knew how hard it must have been to capture a rank 3 beast
"Alright, all Arise," the head instructor commanded everyone in the crowd.
It was time to honor the year 3 cadets; it was their last day in the academy after which they would officially join the military, whether it be the Warhawk Army or any other army of their choice.
"We pledge to keep the honor of the Warhawk Academy where ever we find ourselves...." They then went ahead to give the pledge in their uniforms.
All who stood on the stage were the ones that would be leaving the academy and joining the battle for humanity; they would be forever enshrined in the minds of those they sacrificed their lives for, the outside world was dangerous but they had to face it, if not mankind would forever remain down under
And not long after they left the stage to take pictures with their family and friends, Three years in the academy was now done and dusted; the future was what remained now.
After a while of watching the new graduates take pictures and make fun, they finally made their way to god knows where
"Okay now for the 2nd years and soon to be 3rd years, come out," the head instructor's voice resounded.
Not even a second later
Several second-year students stood up from inside the crowd and made their way onto the stage.
The way the ceremony was held for the second year was much different from that of the first and third years; their own ceremony was meant to dazzle, so those who had failed would stay in the crowd and not participate in the exercise.
The first to perform would be the ordinary grade; they had a different threshold from the special grade in terms of the level they would need to be at before they could be considered to have passed.
Theirs was about level 4 of the steps of heaven; that was the sign of peak human stage. Most people were not like Wilder, who entered the peak human stage while he was still in his first year; he was considered a prodigy at least until he fell; the others, however, would find it very difficult to even cross to the peak human stage with just two years of training, much less the enhanced human stage.
Amongst those who participated in the assessment for the ordinary grade was actually Liam, and his beauty Lola, Liam and Lola were specialists; Liam, like his mother, was into the sciences, specifically engineering, while Lola was in the medical field and didn't need the special grade class as much as Wilder and Anya did because they would just end up in the lab without needing any field training whatsoever.
There were also quite a few other cadets that were previously in the special grade classes amongst them, and even though Wilder didn't quite know them, he would still be able to tell their faces apart, as he had seen them before.
Back in the crowd
"You should join in, kid. I understand your anger, but you have to take what life hands you. It's not your fault that you couldn't get through." The instructor said to the cadet with the box of donuts
This man was actually instructor James, the instructor of the second year special grades class, and the person he was speaking to was in fact Wilder
Wilder had managed to get into the area without being detected even by his close friends; he just slipped in, and the fact that he was noticed by the instructor James was actually worthy of admiration.
Wilder had snuck into events like these before to cause havoc on the bequest of the system, earning him a very auspicious nickname back in the immortal world.
The party bomber
So being noticed by the instructor was surprising, to say the very least; he had fooled people that could snap this man from existence just like that.
"Getting rusty," Wilder thought in his mind as he lamely reflected on some of the scenes in the immortal world.
After a few short seconds, he regained himself. He then looked over at the instructor and simply shook his head.
He couldn't afford to be sent to the ordinary grade; the connections in the special grade were something he needed to make use of in finding the elusive Arthur. Even after scanning through so many data bases of influential people in the city, he could only find like 4 with the name or surname Arthur, and even at that, he couldn't really meet up with them just like that.
It would be like a random person looking for a superstar on the streets.
But with the connection, it would be much easier if he could make friends with someone or probe someone who had any sort of relationship with one of the four Arthurs. He would be able to get close enough to let the system scan and confirm
"Don't be stubborn. The only alternative would be for you to drop out. Why would you want to do that? Think of your parents dam..." The instructor, after seeing Wilder's response, went on a full rant, trying to hold Wilder emotionally hostage.
But Wilder didn't budge.
One of the reasons was because he couldn't afford to leave, and the other was for revenge, if not for him then for the previous owner of this body Until this moment, Wilder too found the behavior of the instructor quite annoying, even though he looked like a good guy on the surface he was quite despicable.
And the only reason he was seated here with Wilder was because Deep down he was just scared, and the academy was strict on the policies pertaining to the special grades class. If he were to challenge the steps to heaven and reach the 9th level, the instructor would be seriously queried by the administration.
His caution was justified
