Wilder braced himself as he moved along as he dodged the obstacles in front of him, he had to pay attention to his surroundings as he didn't know what would pop up, or when it would pop up.
"Still have to get there," Wilder calmed himself and continued moving.
He had faced more dangerous situations back in the immortal world.
"He is only adapting I can tell that he has never gotten to this stage on the steps to heaven. It would be a miracle if he qualifies for the special grades class, talk less of dazzling like Sapphire" Noland spoke from inside the crowd.
This of course made Anya frown. Wilder was in fact slowing down; she had never seen him get to this stage on the steps to heaven before, so it was natural for him to not know the general feel, but she really hoped that he made it through.
And as for Noland, even though he was saying so, he knew that Wilder would make it to the 9th stage; in fact, no one here knew better than him.
After all, he was the one that had been beaten to a pulp by Wilder on his way to the academy, though he still wanted his revenge. He knew that it would be delusional to think that Wilder was still at peak human stage, but he couldn't help but hope because if Wilder was really in the enhanced human stage already, then it would be difficult to get his revenge.
A few seconds later, Wilder jumped to the 8th step.
"He's going to do it." Anya felt tense seeing Wilder make it to that stage; she didn't want to be the only one in their group in the special grades class, and Wilder, as much as he was a pain in the ass, was her friend.
As everyone expressed their thoughts, a woman in a white lab coat approached the main chair where the head instructor and the other seniors of the school were seated.
"hm?" The head instructor turned as soon as he noticed this presence.
"What are you doing here?" The head instructor inquired from the woman.
"I have a kid in the second year, remember?" the woman said while pushing her pair of glasses in place.
This lady was trouble; she was in a different faction from theirs and still sent her child to the warhawk to study. They couldn't refuse her child, but that didn't mean that they would welcome her here whenever she wanted.
"you…" The head instructor was about to say something when
"Shuuu," the lady put her finger across her lips, signaling for the head instructor to keep quiet, then she brought out a red apple from her robes and took a large chunk from it.
"The good part is about to begin," she said with some difficulty while chewing the apple.
Hearing this, the head instructor turned to the steps to heaven only to see that Wilder had made it to the 9th step.
Seeing this, a frown appeared on his face as he turned to where the instructor of the second year's special grades class was seated.
This guy had caused him a lot of problems, and if the old supervisor beside him found out that he had nearly kicked out an enhanced human stage expert, he would go absolutely crazy.
The enhanced human stage at this age was to be considered a rare talent, and kicking one out was the same as giving talent to the competitors. The higher ups would not only have the instructor's head, but it would affect the head instructor since it was happening under his nose.
"You're dead," the head instructor muttered.
,,,,,,,,
Wilder, who had just stepped onto the 9th step, noticed that there weren't any obstacles on this step; it made sense as most people, upon getting here, would be too close to the exhaustion phase to actually dodge anything.
So Wilder slowly jogged to the edge of the 9th step. He was feeling tired too, but not as much as those who would be entering the exhaustion stage, so he managed to move quite quickly to the edge of the 9th step.
This confirmed that Wilder was indeed in the enhanced human stage and had run through to the 9th step to heaven in record time. Although not as fast as sapphire, he was still faster than all that came before him.
Most of the seniors commended Wilders tenacity and grit; he was truly fast and quick in adapting. just like Noland, They too had noticed that Wilder had not been past the 6th to 7th floor before, so him clearing it even though he had no prior experience with that stage was worth commending.
"Cough, cough." The sound of coughing erupted from the side where the woman in a lab coat stood.
The old men at the main table then looked over at her, only to see her pointing outwards towards the steps to heaven.
A look of confusion appeared on their faces, but they snappyily looked back to the steps to heaven.
"Whoa, another one?" One of the senior instructors exclaimed as he saw Wilder, Wilder had not stopped moving. Not at all. On the contrary, he had jumped to the 10th step.
"Good, good, you know how to hide things well," the old supervisor said from the side.
He firmly believed that this was all a scheme from the head instructor to make them pump more money into the academy, but what he didn't know was that the head instructor was trying his very best to hide his shaky hands.
Whether it was excitement or anger, he just didn't know what had come over him, but this seemed to be a good development, to think that it was nearly ruined by that good for nothing instructor James.
The head instructor used the sides of his eyes to look over at James, and to his surprise, he had completely disappeared.
The shock of all that had happened was too much for him; he had to cover his head in shame; he couldn't be found in this gathering; he had to find a way out of here.
He had made a mistake because of his bias towards Wilder; he believed that because of Wilder's attitude towards work and his fellow cadets in the past, he would eventually fall, but reality showed different; the world was not black and white, and now he was going to pay for his bias.
The troublemaker had dazzled the stage.
