Avice stormed her foot against the ground as she walked. She was pissed. She was beyond pissed. She wanted to turn and go back to his cabin to strangle him but the thought of meeting them kissing dismissed the thought.
She kissed him back. She shouldn't have. A part of her was regretting it with the thought of Raven doing the same thing. When she kissed Rex, she didn't know if she was acting on her own or if Eliana's emotion had anything to do with it. But she liked it, why did she like it? She wasn't supposed to like it.
She didn't know why she was so mad, why she felt so cheated on. She wasn't even dating him but she still couldn't handle the thought of someone kissing the lips she kissed. Or was it because it was Raven? Was she just annoyed because she was getting cheated on with the same Raven that strangled her?
She had almost forgotten about her injured leg when she walked into the pack house. As usual, the people were yet to get rid of their meaningless hatred towards Eliana. She learnt they hated Eliana because she was weak in spirit even if she was the strongest physically. Rex always came first in her list of priority and therefore would do anything to be at his mercy even if it meant tolerating insult from them. She wasn't fit to be the Luna?
Bullshit.
Avice stopped. She planned to just ignore them especially now that she couldn't control her anger but some words caught her attention.
'Why does she look so angry? Did the Alpha send her away again?' Followed by a chuckle.
'I bet she's going to cry her eyes out and try again. She just doesn't give up, does she?'
Avice's nails dug into her palms as she stood on the stair. The gossip and mockery went on and on and when she couldn't hold it in any longer, she whipped in their direction.
"Can someone come forward and speak up?" Everywhere went quiet. "The fuck, weren't y'all running your goddamn mouths just now?" She stepped closer, taking in their stunned expression one after the other.
"Eliana". A voice called softly from the stairs. It was Adeline but Avice ignored her. It was high time the people in front of her learned their lessons.
"Can someone step forward? I'm in the mood to show y'all what an obsession really is. And how much you have no fucking right to judge anyone's feeling. Regardless of her—my feelings, I am still your Luna and you'll treat me with the same respect. Do y'all also gossip about Rex in front of him? Do you talk shit about your fucking Alpha in front of him?!" She yelled, fricking everybody out. She had never had an intention of getting back at them but they messed with her at the wrong time.
"Eliana, that's enough. You might regret this". Adeline came and tried to pull her back.
"Let go off me, Adeline," she shrugged her hand off her shoulder. She wanted to vent her anger on them since she could hardly contain it.
"It's high time they know where they stand. You have no right to judge me. Whatever choices i make regarding my relationship with Rex is none of your goddamn business. This is my last warning to you all. Never in your life should any of you disrespect me or gossip about my life right in front of me. Tell everyone of you. I never want to repeat this again". She warned, her voice stern and filled with rage.
They were all shocked, even Adeline was. Her mission wasn't to instill fear in them. She didn't want anyone to be scared of her. She only wanted them to respect her presence.
Spinning around, she walked away and up the stairs with Adeline following her behind. She let out a huge sigh the moment she stepped into her room. Adeline closed the door.
"Are you okay?" She asked, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. "What's wrong? Why are you so angry?"
"I'm not". She walked to her bed and sat. "I only wanted to talk to them. It was getting unbearable".
"Well, finally. I'm glad". She said with a little bit of sarcasm, her tone displaying the opposite of her words.
"What's that?" Avice asked.
"Because in two hours, after calming down, you'll feel nothing but regrets".
"Do you want to bet? I can place my life on the table".
"You're only going to die young".
"Oh please, I don't want to argue right now". She waved it off.
"Neither do I". With that, she turned and exited the room. When Avice was about to ease out the frustration burning inside her, Adeline turned the knob, pushed the door open, then slammed it close as hard as she could.
"Well, why don't you just break it!" Avice bellowed, knowing she did it intentionally to piss her off. And it was working.
She had no idea why Adeline was fuming so hard and she didn't want to know. Her own anger was enough to send anyone to rehab. Especially because the root of her anger was unknown. She refused to blame Rex for her anger, he wasn't worth pissing her off.

Night came so quick, mostly because all she did was lay in bed all day and only pushed herself to the bathroom where she spent two hours drowning in water. She thought of drowning, that way she could return back to her life of struggle. But she wasn't ready, she knew the water will send her nowhere but to a grim reaper.
Drying her hair, she settled in a creamy silk night shorts and a matching button down short sleeve. Her leg still hurt, just not as much as before.
Avice was about to fall on her bed to dive into another round of sleep when her door opened, making her remember she didn't lock it. She had been locking her door ever since Raven strangled her, not once had she forgotten.
"What are you doing here?" Her long gone anger resurfaced the moment the person, who probably dumped his manners in the womb came inside and closed the door.
"I heard what happened". He said, keeping his voice low.
"So? Are you here to scold me? Wow, I'm scared". She stood up from her bed.
Rex's head fell and a chuckle slipped out of his mouth. Like he was holding himself back, he buried his hands in his pockets and leaned against her door.
"If you're here to scold me, taking your leave is the best option. You've pissed me enough for today".
"And how did I do that?" He asked, his eyes falling on her figure. Avice ignored the twist in her stomach as she kept her eyes on him.
"You know better. I don't have to say it".
"Say it". He said, pushing himself off her door and taking a step towards her. "Say it because I don't understand".
"Shouldn't you understand better? You were the one who kissed me and went after her. And you shouldn't be here".
"Do you have proof?" He asked. "That I touched her". He added, his voice darker, like he was irritated with what she said.
"What should I expect from both of you. Oh, pillow fight or maybe chess?" She asked, making sure her eyes glistened while pulling a smile. She was overreacting, overstepping actually. And she didn't know how to stop.
Damn it, she needed alcohol!
"You can't just assume things, yunno". He stepped closer, his hands still in his pockets and his eyes fixed on her.
"Uhm, sorry I'm assuming things that you can actually do and have actually done before".
He sighed—a frustrated one. "Is this about Eliana again?"
"It's your fault I'm here in the first place. Because you pushed her to her death".
The room went quiet for five seconds. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten.
"How many covers does a book have, Avice?"
Avice drew back, his question taking her by surprise. She was expecting him to jump on her or probably dismiss the topic but he was asking her a question like a little girl.
"What?" Her tone suddenly softened, her guards down.
"Answer the question".
"Two". She replied.
"It's a relief you know that, but I don't get why you don't know there are two sides of a story. Or did you just choose to believe one?" He asked and as she was about to answer the question, he continued. "Because that's what everyone's saying? Because it sounds easier to believe? Because it's more pathetic?"
Avice opened her mouth, trusting her tongue to push out words for her but it failed her. What was he trying to say? That he hated her for a reason? Or Eliana was just being a fake damsel in distress?
"Look, Avice. Eliana isn't worth your sympathy. And it was her choice to drown, you only happened to be here".
"Then what really happened? Why did you hate her? Did she do something very bad?"
He gazed at her, then gazed and gazed without answering her question. Instead of replying, he closed the distance between them like the space had been pinching him in the ass.
Avice forced herself to stay still and stare into his eyes. His next move was unpredictable and she'd curse herself if she let him touch her. Not after he touched Raven.
Gathering all courage, she slipped out of the space between his body and her bed but only made it two feet when his arm dragged her back to the space.
"Don't fucking touch me". She slapped his hand away but it refused to leave her body. "You've lost the right when you sle—"
"I didn't sleep with Raven, okay?" He cut her off frustratedly.
Avice stilled, searching his eyes for any glint of lie—like she'd find. "You didn't?"
"Yes so quit being unnecessary".
Avice swallowed. Her mom always said eyes were the windows to the soul but the person standing in front of her must have bought high quality blinds from heaven and attached them to his eyes. There was nothing to see.
"You don't think I'll buy that, do you?" She asked, already feeling tensed. His arm on her waist provided her body a certain heat that travelled down to her core, causing a shiver from within and an unfathomable change between her thighs.
"How do you want me to prove it to you? Show you my dick?" He said flatly.
Avice's lips parted, her forehead creasing as she tried not to imagine his words. "No, fuck no".
He chuckled softly, stepping back and sliding his hands in his pockets once again. Avice's body whimpered at the loss of heat his hand provided but she remained quiet.
He wouldn't tell her his relationship with Eliana which, of course, she deserved to know. The topic was probably more complicated than she thought. She'd have to ask Adeline what happened from her own perspective but first, she had to get rid of the holes Rex was boring into her skin with his eyes.
"What are you thinking?" She asked.
"You wouldn't want to know". He replied, a smirk making its way up his lips.
Her heart fluttered at the movement his lips made and the message he was trying to pass with it. She sank her teeth into her lower lip, trying to reduce the volume and the rate her heart was beating. She couldn't deny the effect his eyes had on her. She didn't know when he started having effect on her and she didn't know if to accept the feeling his gaze brought her body. She didn't know anything.

Rex:☆What if? What if Eliana was a mistake? What if Avice was supposed to be his mate from the start? What if the transmigration was a correction? Because there was no logical reason why he could be suddenly attracted to her if she wasn't meant to be his from the start. And she could feel it also, she could feel the string connecting them, exactly what Eliana was missing☆
