Rex's body ignited the moment he slammed his lips against hers, and he knew she felt it as well. She didn't try to push him away. She was still in total shock.
He was a little awed at his action too. But he had a feeling he'd end up doing it since she kept running her mouth about jordan nonstop. He tried to contain his fury and a feeling he wasn't accustomed with, jealousy.
He had never felt so jealous in his life. And her picking jordan over him disturbed the slumber and he knew it wouldn't fucking stop until she stopped talking about Jordan. These days, he had been pissing him off.
He kept staring at her lips the entire time she rambled and he could hardly silence the urge to shut her with his mouth. He wasn't used to getting told the brutal truth and hearing it from her sparked something dangerous in him. And he doubted he could control it.
Rex's other hand slid to her waist and he flattened her chest against his. He tried to dive into her mouth but she denied him entrance, keeping her nimbling soft and sensual. She drove her hand up his chest slowly, feeling every of his muscle beneath her palm. And he'd be damned if he said her movement didn't turn him on.
Rex pushed and she ended up surrendering to him. He explored her mouth, something he never thought he'd do to Eliana. But she wasn't Eliana, she was Avice and fuck whoever owned the body. What mattered was who controlled it.
Avice moaned in his mouth and instantly, the effect of it travelled down his body, awaking all kinds of feeling that'd been long dead. Feelings he didn't know existed. Her tongue glided with his and he kissed her ravishly, like a starving man that wanted nothing but to eat her up.
She tugged him slightly, needing air because he sucked the one in her body completely.
"Wait". She pushed her head away, her chest rising and falling as she regained her breath. Rex could hardly miss her pink flushed cheeks and the need to fan herself. She could easily be read like an open book especially when she was right under his nose, looking everywhere but at him.
"What else has jordan done to you?" He asked her. She didn't seem to find it in her to jerk away from his hold. She stood there, out of satisfaction and...curiousity?
Her brows suddenly met. "Jordan and I never kissed. I might have a cheating mate but that doesn't mean I'll do the same. Speaking of cheating," she stepped out and away from him. "why did you kiss me when you're eventually going to wrap yourself around her at night?" Now, she was fuming at the thought of another woman kissing him after she did.
Bloody hell, stop. Don't.
"Quit running your mouth. It doesn't spark something nice in me". He told her.
"You can just tell me you're trying to avoid the question". She said, a sprinkle of anger backing her voice.
"There's nothing to avoid". Was all he said, but those words were not enough to reassure her because she flared her arms and there went her mouth again.
"Fine. I might as well hook up with someone like jordan to balance the scale be—"
Rex didn't know when his hand went to the back of her neck at the mention of Jordan but he knew his thumb and middle fingers were digging into the sides of her neck, as a warning. "This is my last warning, Avice. Don't fucking mess with me especially with Jordan's name. I don't want to hear it from you mouth".
"But you get to sleep around". She was almost gritting.
"I don't. And why are you even taking it personal?"
"Yeah, I shouldn't because i have no right to tell you what to do since I'm not Eliana but you just kissed me and hooking up with another woman just doesn't sit right with me. I'm not some silly pawn in your game of arousal". She stared right into his eyes and Rex could feel the words getting dragged from the bottom of her heart. She meant every word and holding a strong eye contact with him proved that.
He had never been so challenged in his life and it made him want to devour that mouth of hers one more time. He understood the new feeling and he was damn sure he'd be in big trouble if he got addicted to it.
"You can go back to her after this but don't fucking touch me if you do. You may be the Alpha here but it doesn't mean you're my leader. I'm not Eliana and I don't have a leader". She jerked away from his grip and turned.
She limped to the door, faster than the way she walked to him. Rex watched her, he didn't want to force her back because he didn't trust his hands. They might do something he didn't want....or wanted.
She flung the door open but stopped dead when her eyes landed on something. It was someone. Faraway. Familiar. The scent belonged to only one person.
Raven.
With an obviously fake smile, Avice stepped aside to give him a better view of the girl standing faraway. "Wow, I guess she's early. Why don't you dive on into your room. I'll be happy to put a do‐not-disturb sign on your door if you want". The smile disappeared the moment she said the last word and sparing him a glare, she exited his cabin, the door slamming loudly after her.
Shit, would it be wrong to tie her down and teach her how to run her mouth properly? In a way that wouldn't spike anything in him?
He hadn't seen Raven in a long time. She probably hibernated herself somewhere after he sent her away the other day. But why did she come back at the wrong time? He thought he warned her to stay away.
The door opened and Raven stepped in, closed the door and stalked towards him.
"Did you miss me?" She smiled, stopping a few feet away from him. Glad she was not crowding him like always.
Rex took a casual walk to his table. "I'd have to be thinking about you to miss you". He answered, drawing a long pause from her.
"Well, that's harsh". She finally said with a strained smile. "Because i missed you".
Rex let out a sigh. "What do you want, Raven".
"Something you might not give". She replied and judging by her body sign, Rex knew she was talking about sex.
"Well since that's confirmed, why don't you get out". He stretched his arm towards the door.
"Why? Is this because of her? Are you pushing me away now because of Eliana?" She paused to chuckle fakely before adding softly. "Oh my bad, she isn't Eliana, is she?"
Rex's body fired up, both from confirming his hunch and Raven discovering Avice's secret. He had a feeling Raven had been lurking around his cabin. She used to stay as far as possible so he wouldn't perceive her or sometimes, cover up her scent so it'd take a long time for him to figure out.
She must have been eavesdropping on every of their conversations and the sudden rage in him made him want to snap her neck, but he stood still, clenching his fists to suppress the urge.
"I waited for you do something. A final opportunity to get rid of her but instead you chose to protect her". She neared, her face folding into a deep frown.
"So what if? You have no fucking right to judge my action".
"Oh, but I guess the people will. They will judge when they find out and guess who thrills me the most. It's Adeline". She laughed. "That moron has no idea her sister—"
Raven finally stepped on his last piece of patience, wrecking havoc in him. He had no idea how he grabbed her by her throat, or how he slammed her against the door which almost shattered because of the force he exerted.
He loved it when Avice ran her mouth but Raven running her mouth without a single bit of fear in her bones didn't excite him, infact, threatening him with Avice's secret was a big trespass he wasn't willing to overlook.
"Don't you dare try to threaten me that way". He snarled but even with the suffocating grip on her neck, she managed to pull a smile.
"Wh-hy? Does it make you angry? Does your own taste of medicine taste bitter in your mouth?"
He tightened his grip, feeling her bones wrecking beneath his fingers. He only got a little bit satisfied when her eyes started bulging and her face started changing colour. She could only keep her mouth open in hope for air as her long claws dug into his skin.
She ragged and kicked her legs, trying to use all sort of power to overcome him but it only worsened his grip. Infact, he was one minute from snapping her neck.
She wasn't the same Raven he met three months ago. He knew Raven was never a good person but he never knew her obsession could push her to take someone's life.
"And listen the fuck up, Raven". He lessened his grip, letting a little blood circulate to her purple face. "If you repeat the motherfucking stunt you pulled on Avice six days ago, I sure as hell won't let it slide. I'll search every fucking hole and burn every fucking tree if it means ripping your hair off your head".
He removed his hand and watched her fall on her knees, coughing severely as she struggled to catch her breath at the same time. When she was conscious again, she let her head fall back, a loud laughter erupting from her mouth.
"Those fools. Did they rat out to you before they died? Maybe humans would have been better off". She snickered and pushed herself up, staggering a bit to gain her balance. "Watch your back, Rex. This isn't just a game of Eliana anymore".
"That was your last warning".
"You can't kill me, Rex. We both know it's signed. And you're the proof and agreement. Unless you want to start a war, you can come for my head then. The vampires will be extremely happy to come for your people".
"Let me guess, Is this the part where I should be fidgeting and going on my knees for you?"
She smiled. "That won't be too bad. You can eat me up while you're at it". She let out moan before another laughter took over. "Bye, don't miss me. I'll send you my greetings through Elia—oh I mean Avice". She let out another laughter as she walked out his cabin.
Rex closed his eyes, gathering every self control within him as he breathed in and out. Anger was an understatement of the emotion swirling inside him, he was more than angry. He wanted to kill. He wanted to hear the sound of flesh ripping apart between his teeth. He wanted blood and Raven happened to be offering herself.
'Stop Rex! Don't go after her. You remember the rule. You remember what your mother went through to make you stay alive. Don't act on your emotion and destroy everything!'
Rex stopped on his porch, Texas suddenly snapping back his memory. He was right, acting on emotion would only ruin things instead of fix. He needed to calm down...calm down....calm down...calm d—
"Fuck this!" He turned and drove his hard fist into the wall, shattering the wood and creating a hole that was big enough for a squirrel to fit in. He looked down at his bruised knuckles and then at the hole.
Much better.
