Chapter 10 - ☆MISTRESS☆

Rex stomped inside her room. Avice dragged her body along and her eyes widened when Rex sent the cloak girl above Adeline's body to the floor with a single sway of his arm.

The resilient cloak girl stood up immediately but rex pushed her back, casting a glare that held her still on the floor. They knew eachother, avice observed. They glared at eachother like they were communicating and the intensity of Rex's glare could be felt in every corner of the already tensed room.

Adeline sat up breathlessly and avice who had forgotten about someone she wanted to save, rushed and knelt down next to her. As avice adjusted her knees closer to adeline, a wince instinctively fell out of her mouth when one piece of the broken mirror pierced her knee, causing her to fall on ass.

"Shit". She cursed as she stared at her right knee now covered in blood.

"Eliana don't!" Adeline screamed and covered Avice's bleeding knee with her two hands, immediately casting a glare at the girl whose head was no longer covered.

Avice's heart dropped to her stomach in fear when she trailed adeline's line of sight. She scrambled behind adeline as the girl Rex was holding back growled and gnashed her sharp pointed fangs at her. Her eyes were red and no one needed to tell Avice she was a vampire. A raging one.

What the fuck has Eliana done?

Apart from the obvious fact that she was seeking after her blood, she knew she was vexed at her.

Forcefully, Rex dragged her out of the room and shut the door. Adeline didn't let go off Avice's knee until she was sure the vampire girl was far away from the door. When she removed her now blood-stained hands, she stood up and turned to Rex who looked way too calm for the situation.

"What now? You can't even keep your mistress?!" Adeline snapped, anger coursing through her veins.

"Mistress?" Avice voiced out behind adeline whose bloody hands were now fisted.

"You should excuse us?" Were the words Rex said.

Adeline let out an impatient anger-filled chuckle. "Us? Don't kid yourself. I'm not leaving her side".

Rex sighed, biting down his lip afterward. Adeline turned and helped avice up. A part of her  face was bruised from the vampire scratch and so was her neck.

"Are you okay?" Avice asked her as she tried to balance on one foot.

"I should be asking you th–"

"Leave us alone". Rex spoke again, his voice masked with impatience.

"For what exactly? So you can strangle her agai–"

"It is not a request Adeline. Leave us alone". He said, now in a deep commanding tone that boiled Adeline's blood.

Avice could feel adeline's anger through the tight grip on her arm and from the huge lump that went down her throat. After a long glare exchange, Adeline forced Avice a warm look and dashed out of the room.

The room became really quiet, quiet enough to hear Adeline's door bang and objects crashing against her floor.

"Wow. You really have a way of ruining someone's night". Avice said and limped past him to sit on her bed but she never made it to her bed. She stopped and turned around to face him, feeling she had to say what had to be said. "You know you should be awarded for the biggest jerk in history. Because thanks to you and your lovely mistress, my neck, my leg and my sister has been fucked up".

He continued to look at her.

Avice flared her arms, hurt that she was ignored. "Great! No apologies. What was I expecting from you anyway". She limped to the door with the fastest pace she had and opened it. "You should leave. Your fucking mistress is probably somewhere waiting for a good job kiss for strangling me the second time today".

"Close the door". He said in an untroubled manner but his eyes held something darker.

Avice scoffed. "What? I'm not Adeline, you can't fucking order m–"

With a speed faster than that of light, he sped to her and slammed the door shut, pushing her a little to the left. Before Avice knew what was happening, her back was against the door his arm was resting on, receiving an intense gaze from him.

"When I say close the door, you close it. Do not argue". He murmured, his voice silvery in her ears. Avice melted against him and for once in her life, she didn't know what to say. There was something in his eyes that was holding her down. Something that annoyingly stole her interest.

"What are you doing?" She asked when she finally found her tongue.

He cocked his head, demanding a clear question from her.

"Your eyes. Are you perhaps trying to intimidate me?" She almost stuttered in between. When he gave her no reply again, she tugged him away, snapping out of his spell. "I think you're too close to someone you loathe. And you should probably leave because you've seen too much of me today". She slipped out of her entrapped space and limped to her bed.

Rex turned around, burying his hands in his pockets. He casted a long amusing stare at eliana who was tending to her knee, wondering how his action didn't beguil her.

Was she really not pretending? She didn't seem to feel anything.

"I want to take another shower. You should leave before I add pervert to your long list". She gestured to the door, not bothering to meet his eyes.

She had also had enough of him for a day. He was a living definition of scumbag and wasn't worth a woman's love. Too bad he had good looks, he would have made a complete red flag. Her mom wasn't wrong. She had warned her to stay away from good looking men. They were poisonous.

Without a word from him, he turned and disappeared like he didn't want to be in her room in the first place. Relieved, avice hurried and locked her door, feared someone might strangle her in her sleep.

Rex walked down the staircase, his presence dispersing the nosy people whose eyes were fixed up on Eliana's door. Few bowed and walked away and some pretended not to see him because they didn't want to leave the impression that they were being nosy.

Without a word, he walked out of the pack house and sniffed in the air, trying to catch raven's scent. When he did, he followed it like a child after the aroma of a pie made by his mom.

The scent got stronger when he got deep into the woods and he knew she was near and was probably feeling his presence too.

"Come out". He said, his voice echoing throughout the dark forest. When he didn't hear her move a muscle, he sighed and turned around slowly, trying to find her through his night vision. "If I were you, I'd come out now".

He had seen her. She was sitting up on a tree branch with her eyes closed. Though, she was a little bit faraway but not too far for his echoing voice.

She was purposely ignoring him, the audacity.

He was right about her being too comfortable with him. She probably saw him as a regular friend or someone he cared about and the thought of that was annoying in a funny way.

"Fine". He said, letting his vampire side take over. He raced through the forest and when he was about climbing the tree she sat, she jumped off to escape from him but Rex caught her before she could make it to the ground.

He grabbed her collar and flung her towards a tree where she hit her back and fell. Not sparing her a moment, he grabbed her and slammed her against the tree.

"I hate it when people don't do as they're told. It infuriates me in a way that makes me want to fucking rip their head off". He growled, his hand holding her still against the tree.

"She is the one who deserves to be killed".

"Shut the fuck up, I. am. not. done. talking!". He yelled, immediately increasing the pressure of his arm on her chest. "First, you entered the pack house where you should not be seen without my permission and in her room," he asserted more pressure. "...you strangled her and fought her sister. Who the fuck do you think you are?"

"So you're taking her side?" She narrowed her eyes. "She raised her fucking han—"

"And how's that your business?!" He grabbed her left shoulder and threw her off but this time, she controlled her body and landed on one knee. With eyes up, she glared at him as she balled her hands into fists.

"Get out. Faraway before I do something you'll remember for the rest of your life".
