Chapter 11 - ☆JORD☆

Avice woke up late in the morning but decided to lay still on her bed. Different thoughts were taking over her mind and, money being the main problem, she decided to give how she was going to earn it a thought.

Since Rex would rather strangle her, she'd have to work for the money. Atleast she'd be able to work in peace as she earned and she wouldn't need to switch jobs because of creditors that loved embarrassing her in her workplace.

Working in a shop would never get her all the money she needed quickly and there was certainly no high income job that'd take her in. The solution was getting like seven domestic jobs and working her ass off all day.

"Aren't you going to stand up?" A familiar voice said from the opposite side, jerking Avice out of her thought.

"The hell, how long have you been there?" She turned back to find Jordan leaning against the wall with his arms lightly crossed, watching her.

"Since I heard what happened here". His eyes fell on the mess she got too tired to clean. The broken mirror was almost everywhere and now that the sun had lit up her room, she could see little traces of her blood.

"Oh. Yeah, a mistress or whatever. It's embarrassing". She lifted her blanket off and threw her legs over to stand.

Jordan's eyes fell on her knee and she chuckled, sitting down to have a look. She went through hell to stop the bleeding and almost cursed Eliana for not having the littiest kit in her room.

"I'm sorry i wasn't here". Jordan apologized softly as he stepped forward, his eyes filled with sympathy and a tiny hint of anger.

Avice shook her head. "No, don't apologize to me. It's all rex's fault. He should apologise". She replied, finding it a little awkward he was apologizing to her.

"It should have healed by now?" He pointed out, his eyes fixed on her knee.

"What do you mean? How's it supposed to heal when I got it yesterday".

"You're a werewolf, don't tell me you forgot that. A strong one. Why hasn't it healed?"

Avice shrugged, wondering how many things werewolves were capable of. She had seen rex's speed and the way he controlled her position in a blink without her realising, at the door. Could she do that too?

"Can I also move as fast as rex?" She asked Jordan who got immediately irritated when she mentioned Rex. "He was very quick".

"No. Rex isn't just a werewolf".

"Not just? What is he again? Huma—"

"Vampire. He's half werewolf". He replied.

"Whoa". She muttered, understanding why he had a vampire as a mistress. "So are you also half?" She hesitated a little, noticing the irritation he had on his face.

"No. I'm not".

"So rex is—"

"Can you just drop the subject. I don't wanna hear his name,"  now having a slight scrowl on his face, he completed, "from you".

Avice's heart made a quick flip as she gazed up at him, lowkey loving the kind of drama Eliana was in. It was no news to her that Jordan was interested in Eliana, he was giving her more than enough signs already.

But Avice was someone who had sworn never to fall in love again. Men with coated tongues are the most dangerous and even if jordan had pure intentions toward her, she was in no place to reciprocate the love.

She wasn't the Eliana he loved.

"Then can I talk about something else?"

"Anything, please". He sighed out.

Avice smiled and stood on her feet before walking closer to him. "I want money. I want to work for money".

His brows flew up. "What?"

"Yes. Any work would do". She started walking towards the closet.

"But why do you need money?"

She stopped to turn. "Why does a girl need money? Very funny". She replied and continued her walk. She had said that to cover up her real reason. He wouldn't believe her anyway.

"Okay, how much do you need". He asked, sounding like he was ready to count and give her the money.

Avice shook her head, knowing it wasn't polite to use his love against him. As much as she'd like to behave like her ex, she just couldn't. Jordan was too nice and the money was way too huge to ask. He'd look like a victim rather than a helper.

"You don't think I can give you?" He asked, peeping into her closet where she searched for a comfy outfit.

"I think you can, but I don't want you to". She paused and added solemly. "I don't want to use you".

It would have been so much better if Rex was the one volunteering. He was an asshole and it'd be easier to take his money without feeling guilty because she'd picture him as peter, her ex. But the one standing outside her closet with eyes fixed on her was out of it. Her conscience would hunt her and force her to look for his descendants and repay them.

"Use me". The words he suddenly said halted her hands. "Eliana, use me as much as you want. I don't give a damn".

Avice turned her head to find him closer than before, gazing at her with pleading eyes that were hard to resist.

Why was he making things hard for himself?

"I—I can't". She shook her head.

"Eliana".

"Look, I'm not even Eli—"

The door jerked open and a girl with long brown hair trooped in, her eyes sliding from Avice to Jordan instantly.

"Do—do you want me to come ba—"

Avice jumped in. "Adeline! Thank Goodness. I can't seem to find any clothes. Can you help me out?"

Jordan's gaze dropped to floor, knowing she intentionally called Adeline to avoid the subject.

"Hi Jordan". Adeline chirped as she walked past him. "What do you have in mind? I should call someone to clean your room".

Jordan turned and strolled out of the room. Eliana might have lost her memory but she didn't lose her feelings. She still had a soft spot for rex and zero feelings for him.

Damn, he should be grateful she had started having a long talk with him. The Eliana he knew would avoid him because of Rex. She'd do anything to get on rex's good  side even if it meant laying her life.

Jordan hurried down the path that led to Rex's cabin since he couldn't find him in the pack but when he got to the cabin, he wasn't there either.

"Where did that fucker go?" He clenched his fist, ready to throw a punch on his face. He was hurting the woman he loved way too much. And now Raven? What were they trying to do? Turn Eliana into some sort of punishment tool?

Jordan turned around when his ears caught Rex's heavy footsteps and breathing. He was near and he sounded like he went for a run.

And he was probably aware someone angry was waiting for him in front of his door.

"Motherfucker". Jordan charged at him the moment he sighted him. "When will you fucking stop?!"

Rex blocked his punch with his arm and pushed him away. "It's too early for this".

"What? Early? Do you even know what that means!" He charged at him again and this time, he made sure he landed a blow on his face.

Rex sucked in a sharp breath. "I'm warning you, Jord".

"Where is your slut? Where the hell is she?! What fucking right have you invested in her to make her think she can hurt Eliana as well?"

"And what fucking right have you invested in yourself to make you think you can criticised my action. You don't own her jordan. I can do whatever fuck I want". He retorted and walked past him. He was about getting to his door when jordan dragged him back and gave him another punch, a harder punch that made him stagger.

"You can do whatever fuck you want? Say that again, you piece of—"

Rex seized his voice as he smash him against his door, squeezing the life out of his neck. "Don't play with me boy, it's a bad morning already". He warned with the last bit of patience in him.

Rex squeezed his lungs tighter but Jordan would rather bury himself alive than plead for his life. Rex was cruel and inconsiderate. He was filled with darkness and his abilities were the only thing stopping Jordan from kicking his ass real bad. He would always win, thanks to his mom.

When Rex let jordan off, he fell down on one knee as he gasped liberally, fighting for air. Rex watched him for a little while before stating his last warning.

"You're in no way connected to her. Stay where you belong". He opened his door and walked inside.

Jordan clenched his fists, his fangs making its way out of his mouth as his glare bore sizzling holes in Rex's door. He hated that he had no power, or that he was not as strong as Rex. It infuriated him as hell that he existed. And he wished he had died ten years ago. Atleast, he'd have Eliana all to himself.
