It was a nice sunny Monday morning. Claire was still asleep in her room.
Currently she is tossing and turning on her bed when she suddenly jumps up. Claire wipes the sweat off her brow, still thinking about the dream.
Emotions that were plaguing her as well as the events in the dream were so vivid that it was like she lived through what happened.
From the smell of smoke, the screams of people dying, the roars of the undead, and the evolved beasts and monsters. Claire just kept shivering, when all of a sudden, her door bursts open and her twin breaks into her room, without a word hugs her.
With a sniffle Sam asked, "Did you have the same dream?" Sam let her go so they could look at each other's face with tears that were in their eyes hoping that they didn't dream the same thing, because they knew if they did it would end up being something that would happen in the future.
"If it involved the world ending and all of us dying in some accident or attack then yes, yes I did." Claire said seriously with a grave look in her purple eyes.
These two always had a connection because they are twins, they could feel each other's strong emotions. When they have the same type of dream those events always come to pass whether they want it to or not even if some of it could be changed with their intervention.
"Now the pending question is whether we should say something now to everyone or wait to see if we'll have the same dream tomorrow. What do you think Sam," with a contemplative expression Claire inquires toward her brother.
"Mom would have the best solution on how we should deal with the impending danger, so why don't we tell her about it and if the dream continues, we'll tell the rest so we can prepare for the worst."
As these two talk about their dream their mom calls everyone down for breakfast.
Claire and Sam just walk in and see everyone else is already at the table ready to eat. Sarah their mother sits on the right with their father James and their brothers. Jonathan is on the left with Kevin next to him, leaving two more seats open for the twins.
"What took you so long to come down? I'm about to starve to death if you were any slower." Kevin, as always is load asked them to hurry up because he was hungry.
"Go ahead and sit down so we can start eating, don't worry about your brother he won't starve." Sarah interjected, giving a look towards Kevin as if to tell him to get over it.
"Mom how can you say that if I don't eat now, I'm going to be hearing my stomach by the time I get to school." Kevin tried to argue with a pleading look in his eyes.
"You'll be fine. Your school also offers breakfast and I know even if you eat here, you also get something to eat there too. So, stop picking on your brother and sister," their mother wasn't going to give an inch, knowing that once she gives in, he will run miles with it.
"Fine. Have it your way mom you're always on their side. Even though they are cute walking in together holding each other's hand." Kevin mumbles sitting there pouting as he gets scolded.
"You would be scolded less if you would think before you talked you know," Jonathan says coldly. He also adds, "You are right though our little brother and sister are cute today."
"Alright I know already so stop rubbing it in. I'm going to eat now," Kevin picks up his fork to get the first bite of the food on the table, not wanting to add on to the comment about the youngest siblings.
The twins were still shaken up from the dream they shared and still wondering how to tell their mom the predicament they were in. They didn't even bother to follow the conversation as they walk to their respective seats.
They both know that when they share this with their mother that she would already know that the dream may come to pass but not when it would happen. It's just that they are worried that she wouldn't even know how to proceed with the information at hand.
James is quiet as ever at the table because he hates talking in general and notices that the twins weren't eating that much and were pushing the food around. He nudges his wife with his foot to get her attention because he knows that his wife would know what to do.
Sarah looks at him and he nods towards the twins to show how they were acting. Sarah then sees that the twins looked pale with worried looks on their expressions as they pick at the food as they pass looks at each other.
Once breakfast is done everyone gets up to leave to get dressed for school or work. Sarah calls out to the twin, "Before you go can I talk with you two."
Claire and Sam look at each other, "Okay."
"What's wrong with you two this morning, any time I see you two like this is when you both dream about something that bothers you. Why don't you tell mother what is bothering you," as Sarah talked, she led them to the couch to sit down.
"Mom that is what me and Claire were trying to decide to do before you called us but how did you know," Sam glanced at Claire with an amazed expression.
"Oh, James is actually the one who notices but he is so bad with words that's why I always end up the one talking with you all whenever there's problems," with a mischievous look she gave away her husband's faults.
"Darling why are you explaining that to the children, leave me out of it an tell me what is wrong," James sighs and walks out from around the corner with a red face as if he was listening in on to the conversation.
"Dad this morning me and Sam had the same dream, but the dream was more of a nightmare, and we wanted to ask mom what we should do. We both are very scared because something very bad is going to happen to our world as we know it."
With serious expressions Sarah and James look at each other and say to the twins, "You have our attention. What happened in your dream?"
