Chapter 2 - The Discussion

"Mom." "Dad." The twins both started as they went into explaining the contents of their shared dream.

"What we saw was like the end of the world, there was natural disasters that popped up globally, extreme weather that made it difficult for the people to get accustomed too, the dead that was supposed to be dead came back and attacked, and finally the plants and animals mutated becoming more dangerous."

"What takes the cake in all of this is that our family struggles to survive only to be betrayed by our friends and it causes our family to be torn apart," As the twins are talking back and forth, they start tearing up and then finally break down to cry.

Even with all the details the twins went into when explaining their dream, it just seemed to hard to believe. Their parents sat there with their faces in disbelief and worry in their hearts, with broken hearts as they saw their children cry as they told them that the world was about to end.

James shakes off the disbelief and finally asks the twin, "Who was is that betrayed us, do you know." Not giving the twins a chance to answer, Sarah gets up and hugs the two to console them, moving over to sit between the twins to give them a big hug to console them.

Claire with no hesitation to snitch on her parent's friends and daughter says, "They all died because Jeramey and Marabeth sold them out in exchange with their daughter Annie."

Sam then speaks up and says, "Mom I know how much you love your friend Marabeth as family, and you treat her daughter just as well; but they don't treat us the same and one by one we all die leaving Claire and me to be left all alone until the end."

Not really expecting an answer so soon James starts thinking hard about the family of three, from when they first moved into the house next door till now. When he thinks back, he realized that their family was very soft when getting to know this family.

They were very friendly, and they got along well together going on group outings and borrowing each other's things. That family gradually changed as time went by and their children started distancing themselves from Annie.

Jeramey and Marabeth also changed acting more stuck-up as if they were above them. Even though they kept in touch, they were no longer the same kind and friendly couple that first moved in. They also started taking advantage of them such as taking things without asking and having to argue whether or not it was theirs.

As James is thinking the more anger he feels clenching his fists. "Darling, I think we should break all contact with those people. Even if we have to think of a lame excuse we shouldn't associate with them anymore as they will harm us in the future."

With a big sign in defeat at realizing that those who you trust shouldn't be trusted. Sarah loosens her hold on the twins and gives them both a kiss on the forehead.

Sam clears his throat, "I never liked Annie anyway. She always tried to make fun of Claire and tried to cause me and her to fight with Kavin and Johnathan."

"She always had a way that led the conversation in a weird direction," Claire had to agree. "I just can't believe that she is the same age as us at 15. What do you think mom, isn't she strange?"

Sarah again gave a sign not really paying attention, as her thoughts have already moved on to thinking about how to survive the apocalypse. Just knowing that the world will end up in chaos, wondering how to survive might need lots of perpetrations.

"Kids go finish getting dress for school, there is a lot more me and your father need to talk about before we do anything today, but what could help to find out more on theses disasters though is research. At school, why don't you two read online to see if there is any news that might give us a heads up on any of the changes on the world." Sarah as always gives the final word to the twins as she goes back to thinking on what to do first in preparing for the apocalypse.
