She tiptoed on her feet to reach for the kiss when she heard;
"Please, wait," they paused to turn in direction to see who said it.
******
Mira couldn't help but think about Maddie, she knew that she had to see her because of the misunderstanding she caused.
She stood up taking permission from the teacher.
Luckily, she followed them to where they were heading to.
They entered the balcony area as she was about to enter, she heard their conversation.
Her heart raced a thousand times thinking about the kiss, though she was stunned by the true colors of their relationship.
She took a glance to see what was happening and then she barged into the place without thinking once more.
"Please, wait," she yelled as they paused to turn to her.
"Please, please, Maddie, trust Justin. What you're thinking didn't happen, those videos aren't true. He was only trying to pester me because I was having a bad dream. The video... I'm sure the video is an edition."
Of course, Maddie knew Justin didn't kiss her, she knew the kind of guy she was dating but she had just ruined her plans.
"I'm so sorry, Maddie," she begged to reach for her hand.
Maddie felt like throwing her off the balcony but she had to make a good impression of herself in front of Justin.
She forced a smile and accepted her hand, holding it tightly.
"O-okay."
Justin stood there silent, for a moment he couldn't think of what he was going to say.
"Justin," Maddie turned to him trying to approach him but then he went out of the room.
He couldn't explain his emotions, he wasn't annoyed about the fact someone uploaded the video or he was about to kiss Maddie.
But he felt he was about to betray his principles.
He couldn't find a word to explain his emotions, what could he be possibly thinking that made him so confused?
He got to the garden of the school and took a deep breath as he bent to reach for his knees.
He felt a hand touch his shoulder.
He turned to see who it was, Mira.
"I'm sorry, I caused both of your misunderstandings. I didn't mean to do it, I should have known my place." Mira spoke about to burst into tears when Justin held her hand.
From her touch, he could feel as though his entire body had an electrifying effect, his heart was beating a thousand times.
"You don't need to say that, I'm sure that she was paranoid about the situation, after all, she's your sister."
He chuckled as she chuckled awkwardly.
Mira thought since his mood had lightened up a bit then she could give him her thank-you gift.
"Justin, I-" she was cut by Maddie's voice just to see her coming towards them and then she ran to hug Justin from the back.
"Please, please, wouldn't you forget me? I'm sorry, I didn't know what had come over me. Even to the fact I said those words, it was just the comments, I wanted to prove that there was no hole in our relationship, we're together," she said in a sulking voice as she continued to blame herself.
Then to get clear attention, she released the hug to punish herself but then Justin held her shoulder.
"Maddie, get a grip. You don't-" He was about to continue when he saw a bruise on her shoulder.
"Maddie, your shoulder," he called attention to it as everyone followed in direction.
"You need to go see a nurse," he held her hand about to leave as he turned to Mira.
"Mira, maybe we could talk later?"
She nodded.
Maddie gritted her teeth giving Mira a cold gaze there was no way that she was going to make Justin talk to her, even if it meant becoming a leech to him.
It was lunch break, Mira was feeling hungry, she hadn't received an allowance from Maddie, and neither was she able to find her phone.
Though it seems that her mother got to see the sticky note first.
She strode to the library to continue reading her novel, once she got there she spotted Justin and he wasn't with Maddie.
Taking the opportunity, she walked to the chair that was beside him tapping him on the shoulder before she sat.
"Mira?" He whispered as she chuckled.
"You said I could talk to you later and is a coincidence that I got to meet you here," she replied in a whisper.
"Oh yeah, so what did you want to talk about?"
"Hmmm, I just want to thank you for yesterday and also today, you defended me."
"Okay," he forced a small smile for a moment and turned back to read his book.
"Hm, Justin."
"Yeah?"
"I'll would like to give you a gift, just to say thank you, I hope you'll like it."
"So what's the gift?"
Mira brought the package she had in her bag and then handed it to him.
"What's this?" He asked curiously taking the package.
"Is a novel, you seem to read a lot of novels so I thought I should give you one."
"Hmm, okay," she chuckled though she felt she wasn't able to impress him.
"So what novel are you reading," trying to take a peak as Justin showed her the cover of the book.
"Oh my, you're reading this one. I've read this."
"Really?" He asked calmly.
"Uhm."
"Maybe you could give me a spoiler scene about what happened when Derek was about to move away from Tisha."
"Okay."
She chuckled about to speak when her stomach growled hard. She felt like the ground should swallow her.
"I'm sorry," she spoke a bit embarrassed.
"You haven't eaten?"
She nodded.
"We could talk about the book over lunch, I haven't eaten, so I could buy lunch, or if you've brought your food-"
"No, no, no, I'm fine with you buying me food."
They bought went out of the library as he bought her lunch and then they took a stroll as Mira couldn't stop talking about the sceneries of the book, Justin's reaction was normal, with a flat tone, and when she spoke of some interesting part, he would chuckle.
"Oh my sincerely, I don't know how many times I've read the book, I hope I didn't spoil it that much," Mira spoke walking forwards without noticing Justin had already stopped behind.
What could be the reason that he paused?
She paused too as she turned around to meet his gaze.
