Chereads / Carnival of Life: Human King Arankar / Chapter 4 - King's Request

Chapter 4 - King's Request

"You want to eat me. However, you are too weak. Come back in your next life," Arankar unhurriedly said as he watched the incoming Bear.

The Chilling Berserk Bear angrily roared as a vertical storm of frost burst forth from its mouth, straight towards Arankar.

"Interesting. This frost is different from the frost in my world. It's less pure," Arankar muttered, a frown slowly creeping on his face. "But this impure frost has chaotic attributes unknown to me. What are they?"

While bathing in the Berserk Frost Breath of the Bear, Arankar was learning the chaotic attributes.

'So it's this..."

"Anger, wrath, and those emotions present in all humans and other beings here.'

'I knew it. I can't live in my current state anymore. I must reincarnate as a human.'

While Arankar was in thought, the Bear was losing its shit, stupidly wondering why its attack was not working on this human.

The Bear increased its output of mana, strengthening its attack.

Meanwhile, Agatha and the rest escaped from the cave and saw a fantastic scene.

The giant Chilling Berserk Bear angrily unleashed a wrath of frost from its mouth at a handsome man who calmly floated in the air, surrounded by a faint golden hue.

The man was in deep thought, his eyes closed.

"W-What is going on?" Lucas asked, trembling. He could feel that the power of that Bear's frost breath could instantly kill him.

Milo and Rose looked at each other in shock before activating their inspection skill at Arankar.

-Lifeform rank: Legendary

---

'A legendary powerhouse!'

Agatha and others also used inspection skills and got the same result.

"He opened his eyes," Milo said, his eyes widening in anticipation. A legendary powerhouse could instantly obliterate this Bear, and he wanted to see it.

It was the same for the rest as they glued their eyes on Arankar.

Arankar opened his eyes after having studied how humans were born and how he could become one officially to experience and understand life's essence.

'Perfect, two female humans are present as well. I'll find one in that town if they do not accept my request.'

Focusing on the present after that, Arankar snapped his finger to summon an eccentric symbol of strange patterns on top of the Bear. The symbol was light blue and radiated pure iciness, with its patterns pulsing slightly, making it appear more frosty white.

"What is that?" Agatha uttered in awe as she looked at the giant magical symbol.

The Chilling Berserk Bear also paused its attack after sensing something and looked up, its eyes showing shock and bewilderment.

"Learn anything you can from that symbol in three seconds. It's the pure ice law that I uphold," Arankar said with a serene and straight expression as he floated right in front of the Bear's face, just five meters away from its nose.

"Grr?"

The Chilling Berserk Bear looked at Arankar in confusion. Soon, drool again started flowing from its mouth upon sensing the pure and potent energy from Arankar.

"Three seconds are up. If you want to challenge me, then do so in your next life."

The symbol briefly glowed before it dropped a fist-sized snowflake on the Bear's head.

*Swoosh!!*

The Bear was entirely frozen to each of its atoms!

'I should let go of its soul, heh. How would it challenge me otherwise?'

Arankar shook his head and waved his hand as the Bear's frozen soul recovered and vanished to participate in the natural cycle of living.

'I must also enter this cycle of Living,' Arankar thought, his eyes showing anticipation as he turned to Agatha and her group.

In the next second, Arankar appeared before Agatha and calmly smiled before saying, "Hello, I am Arankar. Nice to meet you."

'Formal introduction done!'

His introduction felt weird to others because he was a Legendadry! But their focus was on the man himself rather than his introduction.

"H-Hi… I am Agatha."

Agatha quickly replied like a nervous whack and instinctively stretched her hand for a handshake. But, immediately after that, she regretted it.

However, she felt it would be rude to take back her hand now that she extended it.

Needless to say, her action confused Arankar a bit, but not much, as he quickly understood her intention and shook his hands with hers.

'I must state my request first,' thought Arankar, quickly forming his words.

"Hi, Agatha. I have a request that I hope you can fulfill. In exchange, you can ask me anything in return, and I'll try to fulfill that."

Hearing him, everyone was surprised.

But none of them spoke. They were truly too tiny right now and didn't want to offend this unknown big shot.

Although laws were once again regulated and even powerhouses were severely punished up to death, people still feared strong ones.

After all, what was justice if it was given to them after they died, right? So, they didn't want to die. Simple.

And all big shots with power and influence still remained untouchable, like in old times. But this monumental magical change of Earth also allowed for seemingly ordinary, poor, and unknown people to rise!

However, Agatha had to speak. Alas, she first instinctively took her hand back, which was still held by Arankar, and immediately felt like slapping herself again.

But Arankar quickly let go of her hand in less than an instant upon capturing her intention, even though it was instinctual.

'It seems that these people are feeling fear of me.'

Arankar didn't like that and completely changed his disposition, even oozing a calm and gentle aura to relax them.

"No need to be tense, humans. You can relax," Arankar said, lightly laughing with a gentle expression." I will not eat you or harm you."

'So handsome…' Agatha thought, her heart skipping a beat. Rose was also dazed looking at Arankar.

Milo looked at his wife with a wry smile and shook his head. Well, he would also get glued or stunned sometimes when he sees beautiful girls, especially those busty and gorgeous elves. So he couldn't blame his wife for being dazed looking at this absurdly handsome guy.

'Where did he come from? He sounds so weird. Humans, he said, eh… Is he not one? Duh,' Milo thought, slightly narrowing his eyes at Arankar.

Arankar had adopted a human constitution and sealed his powers, only to use them when necessary; otherwise, he would easily capture the thoughts of Milo and answer him.

On the other hand, Agatha took a breath to calm her nerves and asked as she tried her best to smile. "So, umm...can you tell me the request first?"

"Ah-Wait, I am not saying this because I doubt you. I am sure you can fulfill my request. But I am not that strong or influential, so I might be unable to fulfill your request."

Agatha hurriedly explained.

Arankar raised his eyebrows in surprise before he immediately smiled and nodded. "You are right. I should state my request first."

Everyone looked stole glances at each other, pure shock in their eyes. They had never thought that a Legendary bigshot would interact so politely with them.

'He is such a gentleman. We fear him for nothing,' Agatha thought. 'He is not like those whose noses are always high in front of weaker people.'

But the next second, everyone's jaws dropped.

"I want you to bear my child."

The way Arankar stated his request while keeping the same gentle smile was shocking to all.

Agatha's face turned red. She opened her mouth and closed it before opening it again, "W-What do you mean? Are you proposing to me?"

The party looked at Agatha this time, speechless.

'Miss! Do you not think of this situation as something really strange and all? Why are you blushing?!' Lucas thought, dumbfounded.

But Rose understood Agatha. 'This man's aura is irresistible already, let alone when he is speaking and radiating such a vibe….'

Rose didn't know much about Agatha, but from their interaction with her, Rose knew that Agatha was unmarried and had no partners, so when someone of Arankar's caliber presented himself in front of her, she would obviously desire him!

Although Agatha was different because she had a dark past and never had any relationships due to the sole goal of getting stronger, she still felt her heart fluttering.

Her conviction was not weak, but Arankar was just too powerful, and he spoke so purely and honestly that she could not feel an ounce of falsehood or acting!

"Proposing to you?" Arankar repeated in surprise before nodding with a smile. "You can say that I am indeed proposing to you."

"…"

Agatha's face was already red like a tomato, but this just added more fuel.

However, Agatha somehow calmed down and rationalized herself. 'He is not fooling around, right?'

'Is he using some magic? But wait, I am not even like those kingdom-toppling beauties and have no special talent or anything… he shouldn't have any reason for going to such length.'

"If you are fine with my request, then you can also state your request, Agatha."

"My request…" Agatha again became dazed when looking at the gentle and honest expression of Arankar.
