Chereads / Carnival of Life: Human King Arankar / Chapter 9 - An Eternity & A Day

Chapter 9 - An Eternity & A Day

After gently putting her on the bed, Arankar asked, "Now what?"

Agatha looked at Arankar as she lay naked on the bed, her eyes misty and smiling. "Come here and sleep beside me."

Arankar nodded and slept on the bed before turning his head towards her.

"Mhmm, now let's take an afternoon nap."

Agatha hugged Arankar from the side, her breasts pressing on his chest as she snuggled comfortably in his embrace.

And then she closed her eyes.

'So she wants to sleep for a short time…' Arankar thought after finding the meaning of nap and smiled.

He also hugged her, wrapping his right hand over her before resting it on her back.

'I would feel this much better if I had a fundamental human physique and soul.'

Arankar thought but then shook his head. 'No need to be impatient since I will rebirth soon.'

Agatha felt Arankar's hand gently caressing her back and suddenly started feeling blissful drowsiness.

"Have a good nap," said Arankar softly before closing his eyes for a nap. His lips were arched into a small smile of contentment.

After an unknown amount of time, Agatha opened her eyes.

Smelling a familiar scent, she snuggled like a cat in Arankar's embrace before tilting her head to look at him, only to see him staring at her.

"Ah! How long have I been sleeping?"

"Two hours."

"And you've been just looking at me all this while?" Agatha asked, butterfly fluttering in her stomach as her cheeks turned slightly red.

"No. I also took a nap, although I believe it didn't go as well as it went for you," Arankar said before lightly chuckling. "I opened my eyes when I sensed that you woke up."

"Oh… Ahem, anyway, let's get up and go out. It's my usual time to hunt in some dungeon to level up and progress."

"Sure."

Agatha wore her usual hunter set that she bought a month ago, Crawling Blitz's Set. It was a lightweight set consisting of leather armor, a waist belt, greaves, boots, and gloves.

"You'll look great in this set, but since these sets are magically enhanced, I don't know if you can create them as you did with those T-shirts and shorts," Agatha said, showing a photo of an epic-grade hunter set.

"Dark Ranger's Set, created by HunterArt Guild…" Arankar read the texts out loud with raised brows. "This outfit looks creative and cool. It will indeed suit me."

"Hehe, the entire set costs 500k FC minimum. Very expensive for me. But let's see if you can wear it with your magic," Agatha said with a grin. "Come on, flex it."

'Flex? Dictionary, give me details.'

"Very well." Arankar nodded with a faint smile and snapped his finger. "Done."

A soft but stern black short robe with thin silver designs materialized over his torso while his lower half was covered with black trousers and boots.

The robe was parted in the middle front, but the rest was extended to the knee level. Lastly, a cool belt was also wrapped around his waist at the end for completion, painting a dashing picture overall.

"Wow! You did it!" Agatha exclaimed. She touched the robe and felt material before inspecting it. "It even has the same resistance and attributes!"

"Easy...peasy," Arankar said with a grin, showing a victory gesture with his hand.

Agatha chuckled. "When did you learn it?"

"I just asked the dictionary how to flex."

Agatha smiled and wrapped her hand around his neck before kissing him. "Now, we are good to do."

Agatha and Arankar flew towards Everest Adventurer Hub.

Holding his hand while flying, Agatha suddenly chuckled while shaking her head.

"What happened?" Arankar asked.

"I realize that I've been crazy today. I can't believe I did all those things with you even though we just met today."

"A day may become more beautiful and fulfilling than an eternity," Arankar said with a serene smile. "I can say with conviction that this day is the most special of my life, especially after meeting you."

"Mhmm..." Agatha nodded, tightening her grip that held his hand. "How come you fell in love with someone like me? It's strange, but I am lucky."

'Love? What is it?'

[Love is a strong affection for another being arising out of kinship or personal ties.]

'Affection?'

[A feeling of liking and caring for a being or a thing. But affection in love is at its strongest. According to information, loving someone is shown as complicated among humans and other races due to different emotions, but in core principle, loving someone means putting that love as your top priority, for that being is the source of your happiness and an essential.]

[Here, this creature died after separating from its partner, unable to bear the loneliness. For it, love from its partner was a necessary and most important aspect of its life, even if it meant just staying in its lover's presence.]

[But humans and other races are complicated creatures due to their high emotional and intelligence aspects, as love is not granted to all, even if they seek it. As such, they turn to prioritize other complicated positive or negative emotions and conducts.]

Arankar internally frowned, becoming displeased with himself. He could understand the meaning and everything but couldn't produce those feelings.

'I am grateful for Agatha, but I am unable to feel this so-called love. For me, my rebirth is still a priority.'

"I apologize, Agatha. I am unable to understand this love. But I will surely comprehend it after my rebirth," Arankar said, his expression severe and somber.

"Pfff… Baaka! Hahaha…" Agatha responded before bursting into peal-like laughter.

Agatha misunderstood again. She thought Arankar couldn't notice his love since he was learning new things like everything.

'Baka? What's that?'

[It means idiot among humans, supposedly a word from a country that existed a decade ago when humans could not wield mana, before the first bridge portal connection.]

'I see.' Arankar nodded as the dictionary showed him the relevant information.

"Agatha, when did you start as a hunter?"

"It's been two years. But I am considered pretty good to reach this level in two years," Agatha said, spreading a prideful grin before sighing. "But many are still more talented than me, and luck also plays a good part in everyone's life."

"I see."

"Tell me about yourself. I don't know anything about you."

"Me? Hmm… you can say that my life has been remarkably boring since my birth," Arankar said, sighing. "Truly a boring eternity if I compare it with today."

"No worries~~ I will not let you get bored again."

"I believe that."

After arriving at the Everest Adventurer Hub, and getting information about a level 150-200 dungeon that she needed, Agatha and Arankar went there.

The Wailing Pits, a dungeon at the foot of the mountain. Its entrance appeared today and was for people between levels 150 and 200.

As they flew towards the dungeon entrance, Arankar noticed the rising excitement of Agatha and asked, "Is something good going to happen?"

Agatha grinned and nodded. "Possibly; since I am at level 194, I might reach level 200 in this dungeon."

"What happens at level 200?" Araknar curiously asked since he felt the importance of level 200 from Agatha.

"Class and Lifeform rank advancement. Basically, you can evolve and get strong."

"I see."

'I shall look forward to this after becoming human,' Arankar internally nodded.

Four hours later, at 9:32 PM…

"Tsk, so close. I was steamrolling everything, but others had already killed the boss and major elite monsters. Sigh, it seems I'll level up to 200 tomorrow."

Agatha and Arankar were returning from the dungeon.

Arankar didn't participate in the dungeon and just watched, while Agatha was truly steamrolling everything in that dungeon.

She was already level 194 and got a big boost when her Lightning Mastery leveled up, which automatically increased the damage and effectiveness of her lightning-attributed skills.

"You are exhausted indeed," Arankar said with a nod.

Agatha squeezed her grip on Arnkar's hand and grinned. "I am sure you will sweep away all my exhaustion once we get home."

Arankar faintly smiled and nodded. "I shall do that if you so say."

"But you will have to tell me how to do that," Arankar added.

Agatha's pearl-like laughter reverberated. She was just too happy as she enjoyed her time with Arankar.

"You laugh a lot," Arankar said with a smile. "And it is pleasing."

"Stop it, already, hehe~ You are really getting slick with your tongue."

"Hmm?" Arankar became confused. "I am merely expressing what I am feeling."

Agatha felt a lump of happiness in her throat as she flew above Arankar and hugged him. "Thank you. You are also pleasing to me."

"Glad to know that."

After they returned home, both had dinner and a bath. At that moment, Agatha didn't know what would befall her.

After all, she misunderstood many things while drowning in happiness due to Arankar.

And so did you. Yes, you, dear readers.

You do not know what is about to happen, but... you might be able to guess
