Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 Total Chaos

"Wake up, everyone!" Sir Valhein shouted as he unsheathed his sword and charged towards the creature. he slashed his gigantic blade into the creature, "It's only a Night Crawler!"

As his blade slashed the Night Crawler, its fangs clashed with Sir Valhein's sword, producing a deafening sound.

With one swift motion, The creature lunged forward. Sir Valhein dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding the creature's attack. He swung his sword with all his might, but the creature deftly dodged his strike. The two circled each other warily, waiting for an opening.

Suddenly the creature pounced. Its massive body hurtling towards Sir Valhein. Sir Valhein jumped back. The creature's fangs grazed his armor, but Sir Valhein managed to avoid a fatal blow.

As the creature landed on the ground, Sir Valhein took advantage of the moment and charged forward. His sword plunged into the creature's back, eliciting a roar of pain. Sir Valhein twisted the sword, causing the creature to howl in agony.

The creature thrashed about, trying to dislodge Sir Valhein's sword. Sir Valhein held on and with one final mighty thrust, he plunged his sword deep into the creature's heart.

The creature let out one last pitiful cry before collapsing to the ground. Sir Valhein withdrew his sword and stood tall. His eyes scanning the portal hub for more enemies.

As everyone rejoiced at Sir Valhein's defeat of the Night Crawler, the crisis was far from over.

Suddenly, more Night Crawlers emerged from the other doors which were connecting to other portals. There were many doors at the edge of the portal hub wall and they all started to spawn them.

"Wait, there are too many night crawlers," said nico in shock.

One became two, two became four, and soon hundreds of these monstrous creatures were crawling towards them from all directions. Their body was massive and bulky and they walked with four legs, like some kind of twisted animal. It was a truly horrifying sight.

The people were trapped surrounded by these creatures. Panic set in as the creatures began to crawl up the walls and the ceiling like spiders. They were everywhere, and the people had nowhere to run.

One creature lunged at Arman who had just enough time to draw his sword and defend himself. Now there were many people who screamed and cried as their friends got attacked near them.

"Guardian totem!" Sir Valhein shouted as he slammed his sword into the earth causing a huge wave of energy to sweep in all directions, engulfing everyone in the vicinity with protection.

Arman was surprised to see Sir Valhein using his ultimate skill. That skill allowed everyone around him to be shrouded with a translucent aura, making them immune to physical attacks.

"Rise, knights of Eteria! I know there are only bronze and some silver knights here, but this is why you were here. This is our destiny, to fight those who threaten our existence," Sir Valhein shouted loudly. His voice echoed through the main hall.

"As in the monster & wonder book Article fifty one number two! Night Crawler's weakness is on the back of its neck, on a blackish spot!" shouted Sir Valhein.

"Don't retreat! Charge! Kill them all!" Sir Valhein exclaimed as he charged forward.

As he shouted, it made everyone fearless. They all charged forward following Sir Valhein, even though they were scared before.

"Without mercy!" The people there, hundreds of them shouted and started showing all of their skills and items to kill night crawlers.

Arman was casting his only long-distance skill, purification which if cast at night crawlers could have the opposite effect. Healing skills had holy properties and could burn night crawlers alive.

Fergus as Scout knight starting to disappear. He vanished into thin air and suddenly killed the night crawler from behind.

Nico and Arfin became brave too. Arfin opened up his blaster blade and started shooting the Night Crawlers right on the spot. His energy bullet was very effective and killed the night crawler in just one shot to the head. The bullet was so destructive, it could even kill a three-night crawler in a row.

"Protect the shooting knight!" Everyone started to notice how important Arfin was. They circled around him, drawing their swords and shielding him from harm.

Nico released his sword too, but Arman suddenly said, "Don't draw your sword. If Sir Valhein's dreams were true, they are coming for your sword. You need to hide!"

"What? But i should help."

"You wouldn't be able to help much anyway. You still haven't synchronized with your sword. If I knew this could happen, I would give you some time to train with your sword before going out of the castle."

It was true. Nico had just received his sword from Sir Master Leon and the very next day he was taken by Arman to the portal hub. He had tried swinging his sword before, but there was no reaction whatsoever. It didn't live up to its name. Not even a gust of wind came out. His sword was now only suitable for cutting onions and fruits in the kitchen.

All knights were quickly overwhelmed, dodging and fighting off the creatures as best they could.

Arman tried to distract them with some explosives he found on the vendor table, hoping to buy some time, but it was too late. The creatures were too strong, too fast, and too numerous.

"Fergus! you need to destroy the portal. They need to stop coming here. Where is William? Why is he not here when we need him!" shouted Sir Valhein.

"Can't do it! There are too many," Fergus Exclaimed but only his sound was heard. Nico didn't know where he was. "They blocked all door to portal."

The portal hub, once a bustling center of activity, was now a nightmare. The creatures were crawling on the walls, the ceiling, and the floor. The human was cornered and their only option was to fight for their lives. The place was destroyed in every way possible. The creatures tore apart buildings, smashed through walls, and left a trail of destruction everywhere they went.

As the creatures ravaged the building, it became clear that this was not just an attack, but an invasion. The portal hub was now a gateway for these twisted creatures to run amok into the world. As the creatures continued to pour out of the portals, the portal hub was in total chaos.

People who couldn't fight ran in all directions, screaming and trying to find a way out. The creatures attacked indiscriminately. Their razor-sharp fangs tearing through flesh and bone as they went. Some of them had massive bodies that towered over the humans, making it impossible for them to defend themselves.
