As chaos ensued and the creatures on the frontline continued to wreak havoc, a sudden silence fell upon the back room. The creatures parted, and from the back of the room emerged the leader of the pack - Famir.
Famir was unlike anything that Nico had ever seen. It was a gigantic lizard with eyes that glowed with a deep red hue, and its skin was a sickly green color. The monster's fangs were long and sharp, protruding out of its mouth like a pair of deadly knives.
Famir let out a deafening scream that echoed through the halls of the portal hub. It was clear that this creature was the boss of the otherworldly beings that had invaded the hub. Famir looked around at the surroundings and snarled. "Storm bringer!" it hissed. "Show me the boy who holds it!"
The other night crawlers started to part, revealing Nico standing with Arman, Arfin, and everyone else who was attempting to protect him.
Famir raised his massive clawed hand and pointed it at Nico. "Give us the sword, boy," he growled. "It belongs to us!"
"Over my dead body!" Sir Valhein jumped into the middle of enemies right beside Famir and wreaked havoc.
The hub was now completely destroyed. The slashes from swords and claws made the floor and walls full with holes, scratch and claw marks. The humans fought back with whatever weapons they had. Swords, guns, artifacts, and even magic spells were used to fend off the creatures, but they seemed unstoppable.
The sound of smashing, biting, and killing echoed throughout the hub. Bodies lay everywhere, both human and night crawlers alike. It was a horrific sight, one that would haunt those who survived for the rest of their lives.
In the end, it seemed like the creatures were too numerous to be defeated. Their numbers overwhelmed the humans. The portal hub was lost. The once lively trading center was now a graveyard with many bodies lying around, bathed in blood.
As the situation grew more chaotic, Arman quickly realized that they needed to get Nico and Arfin to safety. "Nico, Arfin, run!" he yelled, grabbing their arms and pulling them towards a nearby door that lead to the outside.
Arman knew that they couldn't fight off the creatures in this cramped main hall. He saw Fergus who suddenly showed up from invisibility and gave running away sign. Both of them were prepared to run.
As Nico and Arfin ran towards the door, they could hear the sounds of battle behind them. The clang of swords, the roars of the creatures, and the screams of the other travelers in the hub.
Nico and Arfin reached the door, but they found it blocked by the monsters corpse. They were trapped, with no way out. Suddenly, they heard a loud explosion from behind them. They turned around to see that Arman and Fergus had blown up a section of the wall to create an escape route.
Arman shouted for Nico and Arfin to go, telling them that he and Fergus would hold off the night crawler. Nico and Arfin hesitated for a moment, watching as Arman and Fergus fought against the creatures with all their might. But they knew they had to escape or both of them would become dead weight. So they ran towards the hole in the wall, leaving their friends behind.
As Nico and Arfin ran away, Sir Vallhein was still in the middle of the main hall, surrounded by countless night crawlers. Sir Valhein took a deep breath and focused his energy. With a loud shout, he cast the golden skill, "Guardian blade," which made his sword turn into a long, gigantic blade and smashed all the nightcrawlers in its path.
Sir Valhein had charged towards the creatures, his sword glinting in the dim light of the portal hub. The knights fought fiercely, cutting down the monsters with his sword and shield. He moved with incredible speed and agility, making it look like he was dancing with the creatures. His armor was broken, scratched, and holed. His clothes were soaked with blood and sweat.
The people had watched in awe as Sir Valhein fought against the creatures. They had felt safe and protected under the guardian totem, which nullified all physical attacks.
However, amidst the chaos, despite their efforts, Sir Valhein and the knights couldn't defeat all the creatures. Their number had been too many. The fight had been intense and exhausting. In the end, the bronze and silver knights had started to fall to the ground, unable to move due to the poison breath of the night crawler.
That had been the last thing Nico had seen in that hall. After that, they could only hear the sounds of battle behind them. They hadn't dared to look back, knowing that the monsters were still chasing them.
They had seen the door to the outside in front of them and had run towards it with all their strength. Just as they had reached it, they had heard a loud roar behind them. Nico and Arfin had turned around to see that one of the monsters had caught up to them.
Nico had unsheathed his sword and braced himself for the worst, but then he had heard a loud thud that made him scared and closing his eyes.
When he had opened his eyes, he had seen that Arman had just killed the monster with a single blow. But they couldn't relax. More creatures were falling down from the ceiling.
As Arman had bravely fought against the invading creatures, he had swung his sword with all his might, cutting down the grotesque beasts with each strike. But in the chaos of battle, one of the Night crawlers had managed to sneak up behind him.
Its razor-sharp fangs had dripped with saliva as it had lunged towards Arman's back. Arman had heard the creature's hiss and had quickly turned around, trying to defend himself.
However, it had been too late. The creature's razor-sharp fangs had sunk deep into Arman's neck, tearing through his flesh and piercing his jugular vein.
Arman had gasped for air as blood had gushed out of his wound. He had fallen to the ground, writhing in agony, his life force draining away.
Nico and Arfin had only been able to watch in horror as Arman's body had convulsed and gone still. His lifeless eyes had stared up at the ceiling, forever frozen in a moment of terror.
"No... Arman!" Nico cried out, tears streaming down his face as he witnessed Arman's death. He still doesnt believe what he saw with his own eyes. Arman, the golden knight that saved him. he cant be dead right?
Suddenly, Fergus appeared from his invisibility and grabbed Nico and Arfin, pushing them towards the door. "We have no time! Go, now!" he shouted. Nico was still in shock from seeing Arman die in front of his eyes.
Fergus carried Nico on his hand and Arfin on his back, who still cried and screamed in terror. Both their brains were still in shock, and they couldn't do anything.
Although Fergus was fat and slow, he did his best to carry Nico and Arfin. He panted so hard that it made him feel almost dying, but he had a responsibility to bring them to safety or Arman's death would be in vain.
"Wake up! We are knights! Don't be a cry baby! Shoot the door, Arfin!" cried Fergus. In the midst of crying, Arfin shot the door with his blaster blade and the door tumbled open. With one final push, they burst through the door and entered the outside world.
As they stumbled out into the open air, they gasped for breath, their lungs burning with exertion. They collapsed onto the ground, staring back at the portal hub as it was consumed by chaos and destruction. The sky was darkened with smoke and the sounds of battle continued to echo in the distance.
As they looked back through the door, they could see the chaos and destruction in the portal hub. Nico tears stopped as they saw that the horror had still not yet ended. But Arfin was still crying. He still couldn't believe Arman had gone from this world.
"Do you think i liked my best friend's dead kid? Rise up knights!" Fergus pulled Arfin collar and screamed to his face. "We knights live and die in vain. That's just how it is. Either you die a hero or live long enough to bear your friends cause. Don't waste Arman dead with just baby tears! Pay them with your courage!"
Arfin crying was stopped. His shaking eyes started to calm down.
Nico shocked by Fergus word. He knew fergus didnt need to say that. But now it was necessary to make Arfin hold his foot again.
The night crawlers started pouring out of the portal hub through windows and the ceiling, and everyone in the outside world, ordinary people whom the knights called normies or weaklings started to notice the horror.
