Edinburgh was a bustling city, alive with the energy of its residents and visitors. Tourists walked along the cobblestone streets, admiring the stunning architecture and historical landmarks. Locals hurried to and from work, stopping to grab a coffee or a quick bite to eat from one of the many quaint cafes and restaurants that lined the city streets.
Some planned to catch a show at the Edinburgh Playhouse, while others looked forward to sipping a pint at a local pub. It was a place where tourists and locals alike enjoyed strolling around the city
The sun had just set over Edinburgh, casting a golden glow over the city's majestic architecture. The medieval castle perched atop the hill, overlooking the bustling streets below, where locals and tourists alike went about their daily business. The city's rich history was evident in every corner, from the cobbled streets of the Old Town to the neoclassical buildings of the New Town.
However, beneath the veneer of grandeur and beauty, something sinister was brewing. In the depths of the city's underground library, a portal had opened, unleashing a horde of night crawlers into the world.
On this beautiful day, the peace and tranquility of Edinburgh was shattered by an otherworldly horror. A chaos soon would ascend in the heart of the city, and Night Crawlers had poured out into the streets.
Nico, Arfin, and Fergus had just come out of the library building. After they weep their tears, they were stunned as they saw night crawlers oozing out of every crevice in the library walls. From the windows, from cracks in the walls, from holes in the roof, they slithered out, emitting a hissing sound that made the hair on their necks stand up.
"Hey!" shouted an angry driver after Nico, Arfin, and Fergus blocked the road. He honked his horn loudly, but instead of moving out of the way, they shouted, "Go! Save yourself!"
True enough, before the driver could catch his breath, the night crawler slammed and pounced on his car with its huge mouth, mistaking the honking car for some kind of animal that could make noise.
"Come on, let's go!" shouted Fergus as he pulled Nico and Arfin who were still staring at the fate of the driver's car. The three of them quickly ran down the middle of the road, passing cars that didn't seem to care about them.
While running away, Nico looked back and saw several large night crawlers colliding with cars and trucks, sending them flying in various directions. The cars crashed into the monsters hard enough to tear them apart. Some cars were slashed by the night crawlers' claw, splitting them in half. Several large trucks seemed to run over the night crawlers and slip. Motorcycles collided and tumbled when they hit the night crawlers.
The sound of screeching tires and crunching metal echoed through the streets as drivers tried to escape the danger. Pedestrians who were caught in the chaos scrambled to get out of the way, but some weren't quick enough. The night crawler's massive claws and teeth tore through cars and buses, reducing them to twisted heaps of metal.
"Keep running until you reach the end of the slope, turn right, and you'll see a tall building. Go straight to the top floor and see the situation. I have to save that weakling," said Fergus, disappearing into thin air. A group of elderly women, apparently just returning from some kind of reunion, screamed in fear as one of the night crawlers ran towards them.
"Arfin, let's go! Let's find a high place so you can shoot them," said Nico, understanding Fergus's instructions.
They had just run when suddenly they both fell down. There was just a loud explosion that echoed behind them. A gasoline truck had just slipped after running over a nightcrawler. The truck's cap was dented and turned, hitting an electric pole until a short circuit occurred, causing the gasoline it carried to explode.
"Thats bad," said Arfin as he watched the sea of fire behind them. Some people began to appear from their houses and descended the street with confusion. People started to gather, curious about what had happened. Some people took out their phones and recorded the explosion that had never happened in their lifetime. Nico and Arfin didn't care. They stood up and ran again.
At first, people thought it was a movie shoot or some kind of elaborate prank. But as the creatures began attacking and killing anyone in their path, it quickly became clear that this was no joke. Panic spread through the city as people ran for their lives, trying to escape the rampaging monsters.
They had arrived at the tall building Fergus had mentioned. The building was approximately thirty meters high with a roof that protruded over the street and could see the entrance to the library from there.
"This building is really tall," said Nico with fear.
"Thankfully, I'm not afraid of heights ," Arfin replied.
Nico wanted to enter the building, but the entrance door was locked, and only the building's residents could enter with an electronic card. Without thinking twice, Nico unsheathed his sword and slashed the glass door with it. The glass door split apart like paper.
"You're crazy," Arfin said.
"I think this situation is making us crazy," Nico replied.
The security guard inside the building was surprised to see two little kids suddenly split the iron-framed glass door easily with a sword.
"Hey, what are you doing? Why do you have a sword?" he muttered, glaring at Nico's clothes, which were splattered with green monster blood.
"Lift or stairs. Where are they? Quickly!" Nico shouted.
Nico's loud voice surprised the security guard, and he pointed to the back.
"Thank you!" Nico muttered as he began to run.
"Hey, wait. You can't just come in..." the security guard's voice suddenly stopped as he saw many people running outside the building. "What's happening outside?" he muttered, confused.
Nico didn't care about the security guard. They both immediately entered the lift and pressed the top floor button.
Arfin asked, "Do you think you can handle a night crawler if you face one?"
"I think I can," Nico replied. "No. i mean i have to be able to."
'You should watch my back while i am shooting," said Arfin.
'Automitacally," said Nico in fear.
After arriving at the top floor, Nico and Arfin could finally see the wide view of what was happening with supposed to be beautiful city of Edinburgh.
As they attacked the city, the creatures caused widespread destruction. Buildings crumbled and collapsed under their weight, leaving nothing but rubble and debris in their wake. Cars and other vehicles were overturned and destroyed, leaving the streets littered with twisted metal and broken glass.
The creature's movements were so massive and erratic that it was impossible for the traffic to flow normally. Cars and buses were backed up for miles, their drivers unable to move forward. Those who were lucky enough to escape the creature's wrath drove recklessly through the streets, trying to avoid collisions with other vehicles.
People ran in every direction, trying to escape the creatures' wrath. Screams filled the air, along with the sounds of gunfire and explosions. The chaos was overwhelming, and Nico felt a deep sense of despair as he watched the destruction unfold.
The traffic lights were no match for the night crawler's brute force. It simply bulldozed through them, creating even more havoc on the roads. The once orderly and efficient streets of Edinburgh were now in complete disarray, with vehicles strewn everywhere and no clear path for anyone to follow.
"That's Fergus!" said Nico, pointing his finger at the fat man who was trying to save a little kid like them caught in between two night crawlers. Despite his fat body not being fit for fighting, Fergus appeared to be agile and strong enough to take on the two night crawlers alone while protecting the little kid.
Nico exclaimed, "There are more behind them."
"I will shoot them," Arfin said with a grin on his face. His Blaster blade's blade began to open and quickly gather energy bullets in sophisticating ways.
