"Stay down. I'll handle them." Fergus said before vanishing into thin air.
Arfin expressed his concern, "This is a terrible idea. Why does Fergus always leave us alone?"
Sensing the urgency of their situation, Voice inside the Nico head suggested, "Run to the west. There are many soldiers outside, and it's dangerous to stay in the closed space."
"But…" Nico hesitated. He was too scared to even lift up his neck.
Suddenly, a grenade landed inside their hut. Nico quickly got up in panic and pulled Arfin with him, and they ran out of the hut as fast as they could.
But before they could even take a few steps, the hut exploded in a deafening blast, sending debris flying in all directions. The force of the explosion knocked them both off their feet and they landed hard on the ground.
Their vision became blurry and they heard a high-pitched ringing sound in their ears. As they struggled to regain their senses, they could see flames and smoke rising from the ruins of the hut. The sight was devastating, and they knew that they were lucky to have escaped with their lives.
But their relief was short-lived, as Nico quickly realized that they were still in danger.
"Watch your left, there are still soldiers there. Let's go right," Nico directed Arfin, following his blessing of guidance advice, away from the soldiers who were closing in on their position.
Their hearts pounding and their legs pumping, they ran as fast as they could, dodging gunfire and explosions as they went. They were panting and sweating, their minds racing as they tried to find a way out of the danger zone.
As Nico and Arfin sprinted away from the hut, bullets whizzed past them, causing them to duck and weave to avoid being hit.
After turning the corner, they were ambushed by three soldiers wielding automatic weapons from the right. Reacting quickly, Nico and Arfin jumped into a nearby house as bullets rained down upon them, piercing through the walls and leaving gaping holes.
Panting heavily, the two of them leaned against the wall, their hearts beating like a drum. As they tried to catch their breath, they heard the sound of footsteps of soldiers getting closer.
Suddenly, the room shook as bullets hit the wall behind them. Nico and Arfin screamed in terror as they hid from the barrage of bullets.
They hugged the floor and crawled towards a nearby window, hoping to find a way out. The sound of gunfire was deafening, and the smell of smoke and gunpowder filled the air.
Arfin's hands trembled as he struggled to hold his blade steady. "I can't do this!" he yelled over the noise.
Nico looked at him, his eyes wide with fear, and said, "Yes, we can! We have to keep moving! We can't stay here!"
With that, Nico grabbed Arfin's arm and pulled him towards the back of the house. They burst through the door, and ran down a narrow alley, bullets whizzing past them as they ran.
Their screams echoed off the walls as they darted through the alleyway, dodging bullets and debris. Their hearts were pounding in their chests as they raced towards safety.
"How good are you at shooting?" Nico asked Arfin while they were running away.
"I can shoot now," Arfin replied.
"Two soldiers will come from our left. Take them out before they get to us," Nico instructed.
Arfin balked, "Are you asking me to kill them?"
"Kill them?" Nico was just repeating what the voice of guidance told him. He didn't think that far that Arfin's bullet could kill them instantly.
"You were right, let's not do that. Just knock them out," Nico clarified. He tried to be wise but it only made him look even more stupid.
"But my sword doesn't work like that," Arfin explained. "How the hell could I knock them out when even a night crawler burst open from my bullet?"
"Then shoot randomly to scare them off," Nico suggested stupidly.
But their bickering takes too much time. As two soldiers showed up on their left, they could do nothing except scream and running away.
Finally, they burst out into the open street, panting and sweating. They looked around frantically, trying to find a place to hide from the chaos that surrounded them. the sound of gunfire was still ringing in their ears.
But the soldiers came from all directions like they already prepared for this ambush. They were surrounded. A barrage of gunfire was raining down on them.
"Take cover!" Nico shouted, pulling Arfin down behind a sidewalk concrete. Bullets ricocheted off the concrete, sending shrapnel flying in all directions.
The two of them huddled together, hearts pounding in their chests as the bullets flew overhead. They could hear the soldiers'shouting commands to each other, but the words were lost in the chaos.
Arfin looked up at Nico, panic etched on his face. "What are we supposed to do now?" he asked frantically.
"I already told you what you need to do!" Nico shouted in confusion.
Nico's eyes darted around, trying to find a way out. "Rise your sword and fire," he suggested, his voice shaky with fear.
"Are you crazy?" Arfin protested. "I don't want to get shot in the head!"
"You don't need to show your head. Just extend your arm and fire randomly!" Nico yelled.
"For what?" Arfin asked.
"Maybe they will be scared?" Nico said, not sure of his own words.
Just then, Voice of guidance telling Nico a grenade was hurled towards them. Nico swung his sword like a baseball bat hitting the grenade back towards the soldiers. The explosion was deafening, and the soldiers screamed and scattered in all directions.
"See. They are scared. They are human like us," Nico said proudly.
"Aaah!" Arfin screamed as he lifted his sword, firing his weapon blindly in all directions. The bullets exploded as they hit the walls and the pavement, leaving behind a trail of destruction. The loud noise from the gunfire echoed throughout the narrow alleys, adding to the chaos and confusion of the situation.
Each time Arfin pulled the trigger, the explosive impact of the bullet created a small shockwave, knocking Nico and Arfin off balance. The ground beneath them shook, and the walls around them started to crumble. The bullet's explosion left behind a trail of smoke and debris, making it impossible to see where the soldiers were.
Arfin's bullet was not like any other bullet. It was a powerful and destructive force that could turn anything in its path into rubble. The explosion was so strong that it could knock out an entire building if aimed directly at it. As Arfin continued to fire his weapon, the destruction and devastation around them grew more intense.
"Stoop! It's enough!" Nico shouted
"Does your bullet get stronger?" Nico asked, confused as he remembered his bullet wasn't as destructive as it is now.
"It's not supposed to be that strong," Arfin replied, also confused.
"Dude, you get stronger because you killed so many night crawlers before," Nico explained as the voice of guidance told him why Arfin got stronger.
The soldiers who were shooting at them quickly realized the power of Arfin's bullets, and they started to retreat. They had no idea what they were up against and were terrified of the explosive force of Arfin's weapon.
"Let's crawl," Nico said, pointing to a small drainage ditch. "There's a way over there. The soldiers are afraid of your bullets, so they're retreating."
"This is insane, this is insane," Arfin muttered, trying to keep his head down.
"What did we do wrong to deserve this?" Arfin asked, still in shock.
"Dont think. We don't have any brains anyway. We just need to survive," Nico said.
"Why are they even shooting at us?" Arfin asked, panting heavily. "We are not monsters."
"I don't know," Nico replied, shaking his head. "We need to get out of here to know why they are doing this."
Soon after Nico said that, a fully armored tank showed up on the back of the street and blocked their way.
"Alright, that's cheating," Arfin said. "This is unfair!"
