Chapter 5 - Chapter Five: A Family's Struggle

As the days went by, Danisa's mother remained in the hospital, fighting for her life. Danisa's siblings, Stella and Drew, were struggling to cope with the situation. Stella, who was 14 years old, had taken on a lot of responsibility, caring for Drew and managing the household chores. Drew, who was 10 years old, was quiet and withdrawn, missing his mother dearly.

Danisa, who was 9 years old, was trying to be strong for his siblings, but he was struggling to come to terms with the situation. He felt lost and alone, unsure of what the future held for his family.

One day, as Danisa was walking home from the hospital, he saw his aunt, Aunt Rose, standing outside their house. Aunt Rose was his mother's sister, and she had always been kind to Danisa and his siblings.

"Danisa, how's your mother?" Aunt Rose asked, her voice filled with concern.

Danisa shook his head, feeling a lump form in his throat. "She's still in the hospital," he said. "The doctors are trying to save her."

Aunt Rose nodded, her eyes filled with compassion. "I'm so sorry, Danisa," she said. "I'll do everything I can to help you and your siblings."

Danisa felt a sense of relief wash over him as he looked at Aunt Rose. Maybe, just maybe, things were going to be okay.

Over the next few days, Aunt Rose became a regular visitor to Danisa's house. She helped with the household chores, cooked meals for the children, and even helped with their homework. Danisa and his siblings were grateful for her help, and they began to feel a sense of stability in their lives.

But despite Aunt Rose's help, Danisa couldn't shake off the feeling that his family was falling apart. His mother was still in the hospital, and his father was still absent. Danisa felt like he was living in a state of limbo, unsure of what the future held for his family.
