As the days went by, Serafina's condition continued to deteriorate. Danisa's siblings, Stella and Drew, were trying to cope with the situation, but it was clear that they were struggling.
One day, Danisa came home from school to find his mother in a terrible state. She was lying on the couch, gasping for breath, and her eyes were sunken with exhaustion. Danisa's heart sank as he realized that his mother's condition had taken a turn for the worse.
"Mom, what's wrong?" Danisa asked, his voice shaking with worry.
Serafina tried to speak, but she couldn't catch her breath. Danisa's eyes widened in fear as he realized that his mother was in serious trouble.
Without hesitation, Danisa rushed out of the house to find help. He ran to the nearest neighbor's house, pounding on the door until they answered.
"Please, you have to help me!" Danisa exclaimed. "My mom is really sick, and I don't know what to do!"
The neighbor, Mrs. Moyo, quickly followed Danisa back to his house. She took one look at Serafina and immediately called for an ambulance.
As they waited for the ambulance to arrive, Danisa held his mother's hand, trying to comfort her. He felt a wave of panic wash over him, thinking about what would happen if his mother didn't make it. Who would take care of him and his siblings?
The ambulance finally arrived, and the paramedics rushed Serafina to the hospital. Danisa followed close behind, his heart racing with worry.
At the hospital, Danisa was greeted by the stern face of the doctor. "We'll do everything we can to save your mother," he said, "but it's going to be a tough road ahead."
