Chapter 8 - Day Zero

The next day has come, and my siblings and I are finally about to start our first day at Vendetta's School Of Magic.

Before we left, we were to wear our school uniform. It was the traditional white collared shirt with a sweater vest covering it, as well as khaki pants and black loafers. The color scheme was a mixture of white, green, and black.

"OK, kids, it's time to leave," my father said while opening the doorway. Immediately following our arrival, a guide was waiting for us.

My siblings were guided to a separate area while I was taken to my space. The first stop I made was to collect our school books on magic, potions, hexes, dark arts, and defensive spells.

Secondly, we needed to be sorted in our class according to our age group. Each grade, starting from one to five, had its own hydras head. Each head came with a name. The first head was named Glory, and it earned its name to recognize the achievement and distinguished honor. The second head was named Valor because, during this phase, you have to face your fears and show what courage you can obtain by being a magician. The third head, extensively known as Honor, was granted this name because of the highest of respects you've obtained by making it to this phase. Take risks and practice your skills to become the best you can be.

The fourth head, the second senior, was given the name Sagacious for the reason of having such an ethereal mental connection that fortifies your soul and brings you closer to your prime. The fifth and final head was named Zenith. This is the final phase of your training. Everything up to this point will make and break you. From this phase on, you will decide your future.

Each head had one head instructor. From those head instructors were four other instructors who taught different areas of expertise.

The system in this school was quite confusing. Everyone is separated through an age system. However, you can also start in the same class as someone younger even though they are in a different age group. Kind of wanky if you ask me.

Before we could show up at the opening assembly, we were guided to our dormitories. There was enough space to fit seven hundred young magicians.

The layout of the room was pretty good. There were three in a room, and each person got their own sleeping space. Definitely tons of privacy.

My roommates' names were Athar Iffyn and Adus L. Adus never mentioned his full last name. He cut himself off before awkwardly fleeing the scene.

Moments later, we were called to the auditorium known as the Hydras Hall. The Head instructor, Professor Vendetta, is going to give us an open brief to welcome us to the school.

There were approximately seven hundred students inside Hydras Hall. All variating from different classes of magicians. There were witches, wizards, enchanters, and sorcerers. That's another thing that is also confusing. The other classes of magicians are separated according to their style of magic.

One fascinating thing that caught my attention was that specific individuals could have more than one type of magic. This means that a magician could be a wizard and also a sorcerer. And in odd cases, if you mix a witch and wizard, you could be either a warlock and a wizard or just one of either.

Strangely enough, you could also be a witch and a wizard. But the only way that could actually work is if you're born either and have traits of the other. The same thing goes for the other classes and their female and male counterpart.

There is a sixth class of magic, which is the mage. The only reason why they're not in the school is because there aren't any known mages in the world of magic. We know they're possible only because there are texts that point to signs of them. Every class of magic has written text of their existence. No one knows where the mages are, and some believe that they don't exist.

Luckily enough, neither class can outmatch the other unless you're that one individual who has more than one class since having two or more would strengthen your magic. Notably, it seems that no matter the class, you can always counter another. You'd have to become a better magician than they are.

Hydras Hall went silent at the presence of Professor Vendetta walking up to a podium.

"Magicians, welcome to my school of magic," Professor Vendetta said aloud.

My roommates and I looked at one another and smirked.
