screams were heard as the people were lit up, the pain inflicted by the fire, as they could feel their skin being torn out.
zephyr stood as the fire reflected upon his red eyes, and he walked slightly away from the heat
to where the other councilmen stood.
"This wasn't part of the plan zephyr " one of them spoke as he was not pleased with what was happening. "The plan was to persuade the villagers to leave the town and in account to that maybe give them two to three silver coins to keep their mouth shut".
zephyr stared at the lowly vampire who could not keep his thoughts to himself."do you think money is harvested on a farm, that I can just distribute it".
"We are not children zephyr, and just because we agreed doesn't make us fools either," another said who was in his mid-forties." these people are innocent and have nothing to do with this.
"of course, you guys aren't children," zephyr said with a hint of sarcasm." but won't it look out of place if we don't kill some few people after all the council found a group ofbansheesse here so killing them is the right thing to do".
"a few people, you call this a few people," said another person.
"ok let's assume you are right, but killing all of them was not a great idea" the man responded.
"Well, your speech would have been helpful when they were still alive council man bendy and not now when they are already been burnt" zephyr sheepishly said as he turned around to see that the people were nothing but ash.
The councilman became tongued tied as he could not believe how he even got himself entangled with such a crazy vampire.
"Okay..... gentle men I believe we had a great time together, "said zephyr as he made his way to where his carriage was parked. "and I hope we are going to have more fun memories as time goes on, then have a lovely night" and the coachman opens the door for him.
****
soon his carriage arrived at the council.
since it was night time the building looked almost deserted with only few touches lit up as almost all the members of the council have retired for today.
The coachman hurriedly opens the door for his master. Zephy stepped out of the carriage and inhale the fresh air "don't the moon look beautiful tonight humpty " as he turned to look at the coachman who bowed his head.
"yes master" as the coachman tried to make his answer short. he did not understand how the moon looked beautiful because he did not see what was different about it.
Rowan who was in his office heard a sharp knock on the door." come in "he said as he raised his head to see who it was.
zephyr entered the office.
A frown married Rowan's face" shouldn't you be on your way back to the north "not like he was still there.
"o hush always in a hurry to send me away" and he picked up an old file from the shelf." you know you should quit before the high house shows you the door, considering you are already old ".He opened the file and skimmed through it, leaning his weight on the shelf.
And just then council man bendy came in with a letter in his hands " the letter just came in, it's from the high house " he said as he did not notice zephyr was in the room and placed the letter on the desk." apparently it states that your presence
is needed ".
on hearing the mention of the high house zephyr closed the file and placed it back on the shelf, went straight to the desk, and pick up the letter to read."it looks like you've gotten yourself in a sticky position Rowan".
"and who is responsible for it zephyr", bendy said with a glare." you burnt the fucking villagers ". but that wasn't the problem right now, the question was how did high house know about an event that took place a few hours ago.
*******
"what are we going to do with her," a woman said as she stared at Aure who was sitting in the corner of the room.
