In an old church located in a village that dwells on the outskirts of the kingdom of Norgia. There were many villages like this that settled around the outskirts of the kingdom; they gave the kingdom resources for protection, but unlike others, this village called Northgazers was different; they had never once submitted the monthly quota for the resources, and not once had they been questioned by the kingdom. There has been much speculation about the reason for this, but the reason still remained unknown.
At the center of the village was a church, majestically built, and in one of its many rooms you would find an old man sitting, gazing at the fields through the window, lost in thought. "It has been about fifteen years now', he sighed, thinking that, after all, that was when it all began.
They had set up the ritual needed to summon an angel of the Everlight; if everything went as planned, they would summon the angel, and she would bless their land. It was quite simple, actually; after all, this wasn't the first time they had done the ritual, but alas, things didn't go their way this time because instead of an angel, what came was an infant.
Remembering this point, the old priest couldn't help but sigh again, not to get him wrong. It's not that raising a child was a nuisance, which it was; it was that the child was the beginning of their problems. Since the child appeared, none of their rituals had gone well; it was all one failure after another. Their pitiful land was about to go barren from all the lack of blessings. If not for the fact that it was an infant, and a human one at that, they would have all believed that it was a devil's spawn.
But all that was in the past; if one was to be sincere, the child was actually too good to be a devil's spawn; the whole village had grown fond of the boy, and not even he was exempted; after all, just his face alone was more than enough to put your gaurd down; let's not even get to his mannerisms and voice; even up till now, the priest still found himself wandering where the hell that boy learned his mannerisms from, because, from what he remembers, only nobles can display such mannerisms; let's not even count the fact that they had to take a course for it; scrap that; they had to start learning before they could even walk.
But there was something different about that boy; the aura around him was one that put even the nobles he had seen to shame. He believed that the boy was one of those born with a noble fate; not only he but the entire council believed so as well. If this was how it was, maybe he was looking at things wrongly. Maybe, just maybe, the boy was the blessing of the land? Anyway, all of his conjecture would be confirmed tomorrow when the fate path would descend, and that would point out what steps their little village was to take.
"Priest Runlove," an attendant called. Gazing at the attendant with a questioning gaze, the attendant continued, "Elder Balford sent me to remind you that counsel still awaits your presence." Runlove sighed. There was no delaying it anymore; he had to go. He stood up and followed the attendant.
At the very end of the village, one would find a little forest; this was where the village hunters usually came to hunt. You will hardly find noble plane beasts here, so it is safe for mortals.
Deep within the forest, two boys were running as though their lives depended on it. Well, it did, and if priest Runlove were here, he would recognize both of them; they were the only two orphans in the whole village, along with his Forster sons, known as Seth and Sin. Seth, as stated above, was the child that was summoned instead of the Angel of the Everlight.
Sin However, he was found floating in the village stream. You might be wondering what the difference was, but there was a big one. While Seth appeared naked, essentially coming as a burden, or you could say a liability, Sim was found nicely tucked in a baby basket. In that basket were four things in particular: a ring, a necklace, a patch of paper, and a bracelet.
Now you see that written on the patch of paper were his name and instructions. The rings were meant to be gifted to the boy on his fifteenth birthday, as was the necklace, but the bracelet was a spatial treasure, and in it were the money that was meant to be used to take care of him and the clothes he was to wear till he was fifteen.
As fate would have it, they both arrived on the same day and were supposedly born on the same day. Using this fact, the two were essentially raised as twins; they both shared everything, and even when they were later told about their origin, this didn't change their relationship. Seth had gray hair with deep black abyssal eyes; he was thin, pale white in complexion, and quite tall for his age.
As for Sin, he had deep golden hair that seemed to glow no matter where, and as for his eyes, they were as green as gems. He was quite bulky and actually too tall for his age compared to Seth's pale white skin, which was glistening bronze. If you noticed, they were actually in contrast to each other, but unlike you may expect when it came to physical strength, let's just say that Seth's strength was beyond compare. At his age, without awakening, he could already rival peak strength. Some believed that he would have a strength-based aspect when he awakened.
Now back to the story: these two orphans just stole the egg of a saint beast of this forest; to be more precise, Sin went to steal it while Seth caught him in the act. Seeing Sin already with the egg and the mother Earth dragon about to wake up, Seth had no choice but to follow Sin and run, and now here they were.
"ROARRRR"
Seth literally felt like crying; he came here for something else only to be implicated by this muscled-brained idiot, and now how were they meant to escape an angry saint beast, and of all things, it just had to be a ground dragon, and to top it all, an angry mother? Seth gritted his teeth in frustration. He gazed at Sin just to find him gazing back at him with that evil smirk of his. He recognized it very well; actually, if his memory served him right, he remembered seeing that smirk this morning just before Sin left for his adventure. Seth scowled. He shouldn't have let the fool leave on his own.
Already understanding the meaning of Sin's gaze, Seth could only agree reluctantly. Thinking back to what he came here for, Seth squinted cunningly. This could actually be an opportunity. "Hey!" Hearing Sin's impatient voice, he snorted and answered, "Get on!" Hearing his reply, Sin didn't hesitate, jumping onto Seth's back. It was quite a funny sight—a skinny brat carrying a bulky brute is the only way to describe this scene. Stomping on the ground, Seth's speed skyrocketed. It was quite obvious he was holding back all this time because of sin, but now all that can be said is that he was fast—too fast for an unawakened.
