Rachael's eyes blazed with a mixture of anger and determination as she stared back at Lord Emero. She refused to let him see her weakness, to revel in her pain.
"You know nothing of my feelings," she spat back, her voice laced with anger.
Lord Emero's expression turned darker as he stared directly into her eyes. "Well then, take this dagger and do the needful. If not for anything, then do it for Icarus if you want him alive. After all, It's no one's fault that you're the cause of all this mess."
Contemplation weighed her down at the thought of his words. Doing what lord Emero asked would be the easiest way to end this mess. Rachael thought.
She taking her life for Icarus' safety was worth it. Besides, Icarus would do the same for her if faced with dire situations like the one she found herself in.
