It was after what seems like a long sleep that I woke up and I have to believe that it was beneficial to me because I can now move my arms, my legs... Even if it causes pain when I done, it's perfectly bearable.
I'm able to stand up for the first time and the relief I felt at finally being in control of my body was so strong that my tears streamed down my face. In addition to restarting my body I was able to rediscover this time the sense of taste when my tears landed on my lips.
I didn't dare to think it but I really thought I was going to die after I opened my eyes for the first time and suffered this torture. No one came to help me and nothing seemed to indicate that the situation was getting better, only the decreasing pain was a sign but it was so little change that at first I was not sure that the pain really diminished.
Now I can get up, walk and apart from the aches I feel everything seems to be much better, only the hunger really worries me, my stomach contracts and twists, that's what gives me the strength to get up and not no longer waiting to be perfectly well, feeling the pain is never pleasant even if it is bearable.
Looking around the room a second time and now that I'm up, I can see that there's something in the basin and the water above the cabinet suddenly looks very tempting. So I go as fast as my body allows me towards this piece of furniture to drink this water but I freeze once my face is in front of the water.
Despite the lack of light that enters the room, I can see my reflection there… Once again, shock overwhelms me, the reflection that I am staring at is absolutely unfamiliar to me, my memory still does not want to work, I remember with no problem everything that has happened since I opened my eyes in this room, but before that, nothing!
A child looks back at me, he has unusual eyes, I don't know how I can know because I have no point of comparison but I'm absolutely certain.
Those eyes are an intense green, almost as if they themselves were faintly luminous, that look is captivating and it takes me a moment before I can focus on the rest of the face facing me, pale skin and perfectly smooth from what I can make out in the low light, hair that falls below the nape of the neck it's completely black and suddenly there's another detail that captivates me, the thin ears long and pointed, my hand seen up in my ears without me even thinking about it.
I know what I am, an elf! It's my race, my memory doesn't seem to have erased everything, there is maybe a little hope that I will end up remembering everything one day. Once my curiosity satisfied, I can finally drink and …. God, how good! I'm still thirsty when there's no water left but my lips are now hydrated.
My gaze turns to the only thing left in the room and leads me to the basin because I could see that there was something in it, at the bottom of the basin, there is a kind of nest and an egg is installed on it.
Just as I was certain my eyes aren't normal, I'm equally certain this egg is way too big to be normal, out of curiosity I touch the surface of the egg, it's hot and for a moment I I feel like the egg vibrates under my fingers but the next moment it breaks.
Which makes me jump in seconds the cracks multiply and I can see a reptilian face coming out of it. I take a few steps back, fascinated by the scene but not reassured, the reptile is almost out of its egg now and I suddenly realize that this reptile is between the exit door and me.
