"Wait a second, they're NOT MAGICALLY maintained anymore?" Magic ! Damn memory!
I could have avoided this torture! OUCH! Are you going to stop biting me at the end??? »
All he does to transmit his hunger to me stronger, damn stomach on legs...
"OUCH! Shit, if you do it again I'll cook you, is that clear? I now rub my leg glaring at him, I ended up bleeding a little and now it really hurts.
Like he seems to be getting used to, he ignores me and sniffs the air, looking for food I guess. He moves forward and disappears into the grass, I can't help but feel the corner of my lips lift, you're talking about a dragon, it looks like a little mouse now that I see him disappear into the grass.
I hear his growl much louder than the previous ones and I can't help it, I burst out laughing! I clearly feel his anger, well at least it's clear if I can't be sure he fully understands what I'm saying, he at least understands the overall meaning.
He runs at me and I have to run away, still laughing because he doesn't transmit any real anger to me, only annoyance. Unfortunately, my breath quickly becomes erratic and the pain in my muscles extinguishes my laughter, when I stop to catch my breath I get slammed in the back by my not so small black mouse.
When he wants to bite me he looks at me and stops, I guess my pain shows on my face or he feels it too if the link is working properly. It seems to me that this link should work both ways.
I am panting too much to be able to speak, so I use the thought to communicate with my little mouse and at this thought, despite the pain, I feel a smile on my face but he seems to tolerate it since he still does not bite me not.
'I'm sorry little dragon but as I told you before, I'm not at my best, it's going to take me a while to catch my breath and rest my body. Go feed yourself, don't wait for me but don't go too far, I could help you with my magic in case of danger.'
After a long look, I give him a nod and he finally decides to go hunting.
The silence and my physical rest allows me to think again and I realize that I was stupid, this blind pursuit in these tall grasses could have ended much worse.
There could have been holes or predators, I need to be more careful, having the little dragon by my side has reassured me and I although I am now more confident that he wishes me no harm, I must be vigilant having an adult dragon with you surely removes most dangers but mine has just been born.
I should protect him not hide behind him to scare away the danger if I lose him, I would find myself alone again and I would rather die protecting him than find myself in a situation like these last days and go through it alone again.
I feel that it will become a habit and, once again the dragon pulls me out of my thoughts because I hear him running, but he runs fast and he comes in my direction.
All of a sudden, I sense that something is wrong, I sense his panic! I immediately get up and look for him in the direction of the noise. I don't have time to call him when I see my dragon come out of the trees running straight towards me.
Before I have time to reassure myself, I see a huge feline running after him, he is at least twice his size and he is very close to him, too close...
I scream "Jump!" and I barely have time to see him obey what I call my magic, it's instinctive and easy. I think loudly in a rush 'let the earth impale you!'
The last thing I hear before sinking is the roar of the beast.
