Chapter 4 - Partner

I'm going crazy ? Did this dragon just bond with me? I'm feeling his emotions right now and it's quite confusing, I don't know if it's our newly created bond that's causing this shoddy communication or if it's his recent birth.

Dragons are very intelligent beings, I know that even though I've forgotten how I hold that knowledge but I don't know if it's to the point of being able to communicate so young.

He still stares at me with his amber gaze, he transmits these emotions to me far too strongly and he is hungry. Yes me too ! And the hunger he transmits to me is added to mine and my stomach twists even more, if he doesn't stop I'm going to eat him!

A growl makes me jump again, he stares at me with what seems to be a hint of anger but it's not his face that he makes me understand, no he continues to transmit his emotions to me directly in my head.

It's really disturbing, his emotions provoke mine, his hunger reinforces mine and his anger provokes my annoyance, this brain sharing will be problematic...

"Okay Dragon, we're both hungry but I'm not at my best and you're just born, we don't know what's out there." We're going to have to work as a team if we're both going to survive. »

The dragon watches me intently, I'm not sure he can understand me, he has stopped scolding me and steps aside to let me pass.

Surprised, I watch him, he wants me to pass? Even if I'm still not reassured to know it behind my back, I comply and head for the exit of the room. Once in front of the stairs I am surprised to see that everything is still in wood before understanding where I am.

"No wonder I could only see wood, I'm in a tree…" The dragon pushes me with its head, it doesn't seem in the mood for analysis, it's just hungry and it still conveys its hunger to me and his annoyance. Once again I comply, there is no risk in this tree, if something had to attack me it would have done so during my agony.

Under the impatience of the dragon, I throw a simple glance at the lower floor and seeing nothing important I head for the door. A mixture of excitement and apprehension invades me now that I can finally see where I am, will I finally meet someone?

"Ouch! What are you doing !? The dragon bit the back of my leg just hard enough to hurt but not hurt me. This time his face clearly shows me his annoyance...

"Can't you be a little patient?" I too am hungry but we have to be careful, we don't know where we are, we don't know anyone and we don't know what's out there! »

He makes a noise that sounds like a sniffle and completely ignores what I'm saying, he walks past and pushes the door open. I am, and now I can see where we are.

In a village with a few other trees that looks like the one I just came out of, we're in a forest with huge trees, their size surprises me but maybe it's stupid to think so, I was me- even all this time in a tree...

I can clearly differentiate the trees that serve as dwellings from the others, they are much more curved in the lower part and there is a kind of completely smooth staircase that turns around the trunk

There is probably no one here, I don't need to try to shout to call someone since this village has been abandoned for a very, very long time... The grass is so high, that you can't see any path, apart from the trees similar to the one I just came out of, can't guess it's a village. Even the trees are no longer magically maintained, vegetation and insects have taken over.

"Wait a second, they're NOT MAGICALLY maintained anymore?" Magic ! Damn memory! »
