Sig and Alex were caught off guard by the sheer size and ferocity of the spider. Sig swung his wooden stick with all his might, hoping to hit the spider's legs, but the stick bounced off harmlessly. He quickly realized that his weapon was no match for the creature's thick exoskeleton, which seemed impenetrable.
Undeterred, Alex lunged forward with his knife, but the blade only left a shallow cut on the spider's body. The spider let out a deafening screech and lunged forward, its massive jaws snapping dangerously close to Alex's face. Sig acted quickly, inserting his stick between the spider's mandibles, barely keeping it from mutilating Alex's head. The two quickly backed away, repositioning themselves in a safer spot. Unfortunately, the strain of holding the spider's jaws apart proved to be too much for Sig's stick, causing it to snap in half with a loud crack.
Sig's countenance darkened as he heard the sound of his stick snapping in two. "My trusty companion..." he murmured, his disappointment palpable. He was at a disadvantage now, but thankfully, he didn't need his stick to locate his enemies in this room. The sound of the water below served as his guide. "It's alright," he reassured his companion, "I'll manage without it."
"Holy shit! Thank you for saving my ass. I almost lost my head there," Alex said, panting heavily.
"We're a team now, Alex. We need to work together to get out of here," Sig explained, trying to catch his breath.
"But how the hell are we supposed to defeat this thing? It's way too strong for our current level of power," Alex said, looking worried.
Sig was acutely aware of the vast power differential between them and the giant spider, and he frantically searched for a way to turn the tables in his favor. The spider loomed before them, its enormous legs planted firmly on the ground, and its razor-sharp mandibles dripping with venomous saliva. Its immense bulk blocked their path, and it seemed there was no escape. Sig furrowed his brow, deep in thought, as he considered his options. He quickly glanced at his skill bar to see how much time he had left before his next move was available. "Only ten seconds until I can use it again," he muttered to himself.
Sig called out to Alex, "We need to find a weak spot, we can't keep stalling like this." He scanned the spider's massive body, searching for any vulnerable area.
Alex replied, "What about its eyes? They seem soft."
Sig hesitated, "It's too risky. If we miss, we'll be in serious trouble."
Alex understood Sig's concern, but they couldn't afford to waste any more time. As they dodged the spider's attacks, Alex noticed something that could potentially be a weakness. "Sig," he said urgently, "That monster has an opening at the back, it could be its anus!"
Sig was taken aback by the unexpected suggestion, but quickly realized that this could be their only chance to defeat the spider. He instructed Alex to throw his dagger, which Sig ended picking up when it fell on the water allowing him to find it with ease, feeling the weight of the blade in his hand.
With his [Shadow Step] ability, Sig teleported behind the spider, his senses heightened as he heard the creature's legs dragging against the concrete floor. He remained focused on his task, his knife raised high, ready to strike at the vulnerable spot. The spider's legs flailed as it let out a high-pitched screech, realizing too late the danger it was in. Sig plunged the blade down, impaling the spider's bottom hole, and the spider began to thrash wildly.
Despite the spider's desperate attempts to dislodge Sig, he held on tightly, using his knife to slice through the spider's anus and work his way towards its stomach area. The spider tried to crush Sig by flattening its stomach onto the floor, but he managed to slip out of the way, narrowly avoiding being squashed.
He scrambled back to his feet, bracing himself for a potential counter-attack from the giant spider. As he retreated, he could hear the other player's voice behind him.
"Are you alright?" Alex asked, concern lacing his voice.
"I'm fine," Sig replied, panting slightly from the exertion of dodging the spider's attack. "But we can't let our guard down just yet. That spider could be playing possum."
Despite Sig's initial fear, the spider lay motionless on the ground, its menacing presence dissipating into nothingness. As if the spider had never existed in the first place.
Feeling a sense of relief and triumph, Sig turned to his companion with a smile on his face as he handed the knife back to him. "That was too close," he said, "but we did it."
Alex nodded, feeling the adrenaline rush through his veins. "We can't let our guard down. The last wave would certainly be toughest one yet."
After defeating the spider, Sig made his way over to his broken sick. With a slight limp, he approached his broken sticks, which lay on the ground after his fierce battle with the arachnid. Picking up both of them, he examined the pieces and realized that it was better to have two weapons rather than none. He made the decision to fight with both sticks, dual-wielding them. With his weapons in hand, he was ready for the next wave.
