Lord Kanon's health worsened with each day that passed without setting his eyes on his precious daughter; and it did not help his condition that he had not heard a word nor received any letters from the Monkey Face.
"Thank you for coming, Lord Emeron," Neyen said, bowing before the lord of House Emeron, Lord Yobo Emeron.
Lord Emeron was worried for Lord Kanon, not only in his capacity as a subordinate of his but a close friend. He sighed as he took one last glance at Lord Kanon, who laid still on his bed and asleep, before stepping out of his chambers.
"And the healers? What did they say?" Yobo Emeron asked.
Neyen shook his head and conveyed nothing encouraging to the lord.
"They couldn't say for certain. Perhaps, the disappearance of lady Lulee makes the whole situation worse."
"No word on the lady still?" Yobo asked and Neyen shook his head again in response to that.
Lord Emeron put his hand on Neyen's shoulder. "You have my house's support whenever you need it."
