The dew cleared as the warmth from the sun increased. Vision got even better as every second past. This morning was no different from the usual mornings of the harmattan season.
"Last night was definitely one of the coldest recently," argued of the guards that stood watch.
"I totally agree. My hands still shake," his comrade answered. Their hands quivered and the collar of their furred coat raised, all for better warmth.
The rising of the sun and the ushering of a new day signalled the end of their night watch. But the tail of their watch reserved one last event for them, and little did they know that.
A strange figure walked towards them within the dispersing fog of the morning. This stranger came closer with each step and they could not make out who it was due to the hazy environment.
