Kalen was not fast enough to leave his position but blocked the attack with his arm. His arm protected his face, which was Vorgard's first point of target. Kalen tried to resist the force but Vorgard's power was not human. He overpowered Kalen and sent him rocketing into a wall and shattering it.
The Red Star rose up quickly, there was no time to lay about in this kind of battle. Snooze and you would definitely lose...or perhaps, die. One armed now, since Vorgard made sure to bend and break Kalen's blocking arm with his attack, Kalen was forced to fight with his other arm.
He swiftly dodged Nyne's slashes that came at him. As though they had one mind, both cast similar spells.
