It wasn't much to explain about our escape—
Actually, never mind, I take that back.
There's a lot to explain about our escape, and I'm gonna break it down in key details.
Apparently we were all stuck underground in some dungeon built by the BlackWing, and children are transported here while they're unconscious, asleep, or with a bag over their head, so they're unable to tell it's location, and where it leads to.
The dozen of demons I killed in the dungeon were operating the base, and it wasn't that many. It was about fifteen at most, counting the doctor.
The fact they only had 15 demons operating this base had proved that BlackWing never had a situation where children rebelled, or escaped.
But now that's changed.
We all found the exit from the dungeon to outside, but once we left the dungeon, we all could see we were a few miles away from Atlantis City.
That meant that these Base of operations were scattered along the outskirts of Atlantis City! I knew I was right! Remember what I said about the dungeon having lightbulbs and electricity? Yeah, only Atlantis City has those inventions, no other country in this world has yet to produce them.
I'm coming to the conclusion that the BlackWing are working with some corrupted members of Atlantis City to get what they want... but then again, what do I know? I'm not part of Atlantis City, I'm a commoner.
Even if I did find proof that the BlackWing are part of Atlantis City, they won't believe me cause of my position in the world, being a commoner, and not some high-ranking noble.
This all pissed me off... everything was just irritating me. The system in this world, the ranking system, the separation between poor and rich! It's just like my world, nothing ever changes, even in a new world!
What bullshit.
But enough of my rambling, we have more important matters to talk about, such as finding out where each and every kid lives.
I learned some info from them on how they got here, and I also learned that some of them were here for months.
We were currently outside, walking along the vast, and grassy fields, staring at the snowy mountains in the distance.
Deers, moose's, and other mythical wildlife roamed the lands, even large birds the size of dogs flew in the sky above us, as flowers were blooming along the grass whilst we walked on the gravel pathway.
I never been out this far away from home... the only thing I could muster was;
["Amazing..."]
Olivia walked in front of me in a prideful manner, turning her head around to face me.
["Huh? What? You never seen outside of Mediocre village before, Godfrey?"]
I shook my head.
["No, never. I've never seen anything like this in my life... I have so many questions I wanna ask..."]
I felt like a child walking through Disney land as the other children behind me snickered.
["Hehehe, Godfrey is really strong yet he's never seen outside before."]
A blonde girl muttered under her voice, as the brunette next to her replied.
["Yeah, maybe it's just cause of genetics."]
Olivia stopped in front of me, causing me to bump into her.
["Woah, hey! What's with the sudden pause, Olivia?"]
She turned back around again, placing her finger against my forehead as she pushed me down.
["Waaah!"] I fell on my butt, making the other children behind me gasp.
["Listen here, Godfrey! Don't let these other guys stroke your ego about your strength! Y-You may of saved us, but it still doesn't stop me from wanting round two with you! I'm ready more than ever, especially with this new arm-power you gave me!"]
She balled her hand into a fist, slamming it on the ground.
["CHA!"] She yelled.
Once her fist connected with the gravel beneath her, black tendrils bursted from underneath, causing me to crab-walk backwards.
["Y-Yikes! Olivia, calm down with that new power, you don't know what it does! Even I barely know what it's capable of! Last time I seen you use it, it deconstructed an entire wall!"]
I was frantically yelling at her while the dark tendrils disappeared.
["No need to worry, I, Olivia Field, will master this power before you have the chance to do so! I have more knowledge on learning and adapting to new opponents, and magic!"]
I gave the side eye, and nervously chuckled.
["Yeah, you totally can adapt to any opponent. I'll believe that when you beat me in round two."]
Olivia cocked her fist back, ready to throw a punch.
But then I remembered something—
["Wait, Olivia!"]
She stopped mid-way in attacking me, raising her eyebrow.
["What is it? You wussing out?"]
I stood up and marched towards her, grabbing her wrist.
["H-Hey, what's with this all the sudden?"]
Olivia stood up straight, blushing a bit.
["Olivia, you mustn't use this power!"]
She blinked cluelessly at me.
["Huh? Why? You gave it to me, I have the right to use it whenever I want too!"]
No, no no no! She can't use it, I forgot that it still connects to that mysterious entity who rambles on about resurrecting if I continue to utilize their power.
The same should go for Olivia as well... since I gifted her this weird, dark magic.
I screwed up, big time, and it wasn't even intentional!
I sighed, lowering my head and having the urge to slap myself repeatedly.
["It... it's not good to use, just trust me... the magic I gave you is never gonna bring any good to your life, and everyone else's."]
Olivia stared at me with her bewildered expression, slowly removing her wrist out of my grip.
["Y-Yeah, I got it... but you still owe me an explanation since you're the one who gave it to me, Godfrey!"]
I nodded my head.
["Yeah, I know. This is my responsibility, just promise me you'll never use it again, unless absolutely necessary!"]
Olivia crossed her arms and frowned at me.
["Hmph, giving me orders, but yeah, I promise I'll never use it, as long as I know why."]
I smiled in relief.
["Trust me, it's a long story, and you might not even believe me, but I'll explain later. Right now we have to focus on getting everyone back home, right?"]
Olivia looked up into the sky, wondering in thought.
["Yeah, I suppose you're right. Let's continue our march."]
And so we did.
We marched through the vast field of greenery that spread on for miles and miles with hills, lakes, ponds, different wildlife, farms that were isolated away from large populations, and so on.
It was a wonderful journey, and I enjoyed every second of it.
Whenever I came across some animal I didn't understand, Olivia just puffed her chest out in pride, raising her finger in the air before she gave an explanation.
It started to annoy the other kids, but I was use to her attitude by now.
So many creatures, even dragons existed in this world! Dragons, can you believe that?
Is that really surprising? Hell yeah it is!
I wondered how dragons looked like. Were they representations of Chinese dragons? Maybe other dragons with large wings, giant claws and scaly skin?
My mind was just filled with questions, and Olivia enjoyed giving me explanations on each creature I asked about.
I asked about dragons, so it only make sense to ask about werewolves.
And to my surprise, I was overloaded with information; Fairies existed, I asked about that, werewolves existed as well, and so did Hydras, Vampres, Hippogriff's, Pegasus and other weird creatures in folklore that I never heard about back home.
Good lord, there's so much more to learn, isn't there?
Ferdows, magic, worldviews, and skills were the only thing I really knew about this world. Well, commoners and nobles were also one thing too, but that's pretty much it.
It felt like I knew everything about this world, but I was far from wrong. Knowing that other important creatures like this exist, I need to study and learn more about them, just for my own personal desire, as someone who reincarnated from a boring world where we eat, sleep, work, and then die.
My first target was definitely gonna be dragons.
["Oh, and there's also one other thing you need to know, Godfrey! Did you know that magic was created throughout the entire multiverse, as stated by Zusshi! There's not one world where magic doesn't exist!"]
What was Olivia talking about? How did we go from fantasy creatures, to magic? At this point she was just rambling about everything she knows, to make herself feel smarter than me.
But I responded.
["Really? If that's the case, then what happens if one world doesn't have magic?"]
Yeah, it's a very good question, wasn't it? Considering my world literally had no magic inside of it!
["Oh, if magic doesn't exist in that world, then that means the god in that world died, but that's impossible. If a god in that world died, magic would cease to exist, and that god would reincarnate as someone in a different body. But that's just theorized, really."]
I looked down in thought, placing my hand underneath my chin.
("Reincarnate as... someone else? This sounds familiar... but I'm sure it doesn't mean that I'm the reincarnation, right? In my world, there hasn't been any instance, or indication of magic for thousands of years. It's just known as a fairy tale, so that's impossible. Damnit, this is all confusing! What am I talking about? If I was the reincarnation I would obviously reincarnate in my other world!")
I scrambled my hair with my hands, starting to get frustrated.
["Hey it's getting late, shouldn't we set up camp?"]
One of the kids behind me muttered.
["Yeah, I suppose so. Let's sleep in the field tonight."] Olivia responded.
